You can see the ZR1 driver wasn't ready. You can also see how much he closed the gap at the end of the quarter. If he would've had a little bit of a better reaction time, he would've won, not by much though.

FYI...the van didnt kill the ZR1...like everyone with a brain has said, the R/T was .8 and he was probably rolling the frist 2 gear to keep wheel spin down (ZR1 2.477 60')...and the Vette was faster in the E/T. ZR1 = 13.028 @ 121.28 and Van = 13.34 @ 99.06. The van only won/cross the line first because the driver of the ZR1 didn't even car to run the car at 75%. Bone ZR1 run 11.5-11.7 with a so so driver...

Its a stock engine......its not like we tried to hide the fact that its turboed. It is a stock 5.3, with stock unmodded 317 heads, with a stock oem cam...z06(lol)used it was 100$....Its been a few years now, and the turbo van is still going stong. It did kill the ac compressor shortly after the video, but has had no issues at all

I drove the van....I dont know the guy with the vette, although I commend him, for trying to hook a 550rwhp car on 20/20 tires. Waste money? Its all wasted, but atleast the money spent on the van is used everyday. We have more then a few turbo cars, so doing the family haulers has been a lot of fun.
The best I could find was a 10.79 @129......at a private track rental, with 50 degree weather and a -350 da.......and track prep to the 660. Try it at 5500 ft da, on a completely unprrepped track in 90 degree weather.
ZR1 gets 11.2-11.7 with a PERFECT launch on the street. CHEATING WITH a GLUE PREPPED TRACK, a ZR1 can get 10.74. A 911 Tubo S PDK and the 2012 GTR will SMASH the ZR1 in a drag race. Turbo S PDK 0-60 2.6, 1/4 mile 10.70 ON SLIPPERY AIRSTRIP. 2012 GTR gets 2.85 0-60 and 10.9 1/4 mile. When the SPEC-V comes out later this year, it will do 2.7 0-60 and 10.70 1/4 mile on slippery asphalt/concrete.

I drove the van....(and own two vettes). The zr1 is totally incapable on stock tires. I new that. The driver did not. It was not "set up" Last week we had 4 zo6s at the track, all mid 14's. Two weeks before that the fastest vette (and fastest street driven car) was a c6 zo6, heads, cam, headers, coil overs, etc....585 dynoed rwhp. He ran (3) 12.2's at 121........The turbo van goes mid 12's with the oem installed 5.3. FYI the fastest bike last week was a busa at 10.37 @136 (not stock)
zr1 didnt go right away and pulled on him all the way down the track. he finished his run after the van yes but look at the times. van ran a 13 and the vette ran a 11.
i find it funny since each time the vette looses ppl will blame the driver. have any of you assholes even considered that the car is hard to launch with all those torques inside the bloody engine.

@elementwingz They were both using the better driver mod. Meaning that it is possible to get those time but results arent typical. There is no way me or any other normal driver is going to go 7:30 around the ring.

@cky94066 if you analyzed the time slip you would see that the zr1 driver was late to leave and had a terrible 60ft. you might also note that the zr1 had a better quarter mile time so the car itself is faster than the track even on this run with the terrible driver. you cant win a race if you don't leave the line no matter whats under the hood.
The driver of the ZR1 lost it all at the start...over a second slower between the reaction time and the 60'...although it did charge past at 22 mph faster.
It's a super sleeper van, I like it. It goes to show it's not always about the car...but about the driver as well. Cool van.

Read the timeslip, it was all Reaction time. Not to mention the wheel spins. I seriously hope you guys don't think the van is actually faster. Throw a real driver in there and it wouldn't even come close to being a race. But i will say the van is pretty cool, needs the A-Team Colors though

That van is fast . But when you red light by .3 of a second on a .5 tree and the vett was late by .3 then it looks good to the fans. and thats what counts. how much does that van weigh? I have a 75 camper van that weighs over 5900lbs that runs in the 14's. you can see it on you tube too. Ice cream truck vs mustang

First of all, why did the Corvette have those stupid Nigger style wheels with no rubber? And he let the van get the jump. You can clearly see the Vette catch up, but the driver drives like old people fuck. Props to the A Team music. I love it when a plan comes together.

The guy with the ZR1 was new to the track by the way he drove. he didnt even warm the tires up. That means that he was using the stock run flat tires. That means NO GRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone already knows what a ZR1 can do so Y are all of U surprised. lol

soooo many things wrong with this video!
1 - the guy driving the vette is a moron and cant hook it up (ok bit harsh it would be hard to do but he obvs didn't get a good start)
2 - you can hear how long it takes the vette to floor it the van had like 2 sec head start!
3 - once the vette does floor it you can see that it catches up in a hurry
4 - the vette puts the brakes on for no reason before the end
long and short vette driver sucks stock zr1 does like 11.5 so he obvs didn't drive the car well

That's the worst part about having a ZR1, you can't go to the track because EVERYBODY expects wicked times. This guy is probably just getting used to his car and doesn't want to hit the wall after losing the back end.
And if it sounds like I'm talking like I own a ZR1, I certainly do NOT.

Try 100 degrees and a da of around 5700 ft ABOVE sea level.....A well driven c6 zo6 in vegas runs about 12.8 at 118....
No the van isnt gutted, three rows of seats, plus car seat .(pink).

I drove the van....(and own two vettes). The zr1 is totally incapable on stock tires. I new that. The driver did not. It was not "set up" Last week we had 4 zo6s at the track, all mid 14's. Two weeks before that the fastest vette (and fastest street driven car) was a c6 zo6, heads, cam, headers, coil overs, etc....585 dynoed rwhp. He ran (3) 12.2's at 121........The turbo van goes mid 12's with the oem installed 5.3. FYI the fastest bike last week was a busa at 10.37 @136 (not stock)

Pretty sure Motortrend and Inside line both have the ZR1 at Low 11-12s, I dont know how that got 13.

@elementwingz They were both using the better driver mod. Meaning that it is possible to get those time but results arent typical. There is no way me or any other normal driver is going to go 7:30 around the ring.

@cky94066 if you analyzed the time slip you would see that the zr1 driver was late to leave and had a terrible 60ft. you might also note that the zr1 had a better quarter mile time so the car itself is faster than the track even on this run with the terrible driver. you cant win a race if you don't leave the line no matter whats under the hood.

The driver of the ZR1 lost it all at the start...over a second slower between the reaction time and the 60'...although it did charge past at 22 mph faster.
It's a super sleeper van, I like it. It goes to show it's not always about the car...but about the driver as well. Cool van.
