i got a green cheek parrot from a pet store they said he was 3 years old but he is alot smaller then yours but he has all the same colors and they said he could talk and wrote down the words he can say but i cant get him to say them is it cus ive only had hima couple of days?

Awh, she's so cute! I might be getting a Hahn's macaw. I have to wait for my budgies to... you know... T_T (It's horrible thinking about it! I love my sweethearts!) and I was wondering if you knew if it is ok to keep conures with those macaws, because of being the same size and I have seen a few pictures of Hahn's macaws being affectionate (Preening eachother and stuff) towards sun conures.
@Ferrari8Boo Hahns Macaws are larger than GCC. and you can owner several types of parrots at the same time. just NOT in the same cage. and some do not get along well, so will have to be out at separate times. not sure about Hahns M. and GCC, but the Hahns beak is much larger and stronger, so i would supervise carefully.
i have a green cheek conure, can i have some advice on teaching it to talk? I have two main questins, how exactly to teach it? and how long does it usually take to teach this bird to talk?
@RiTutorials There isn't a formula that I know of. I have had a green cheek for a year and a half, my first bird, and when I brought him home he was 4 months old. He has learned to say his name, a half dozen phrases with numerous variations of each, and a multi-line song about him. The key is repetition and enthusiasm. When you say something to him that you want him to learn, say it in an enthusiastic, happy way, and give half a safflower seed (or whatever he/she likes) when they try to say
@RiTutorials We got Cheeky very young and she started talking within the first year. We didnt do any training, but usually say the same phrases to her daily.
