  • @monsterwheel Take msm or eAt foods with Alot of sulfur. I'm 16 I tore my menisucus 4 or 5 months ago and haven't hAd surgery yet but it's help

  • This happened to me this summer. I was warming up doing some chilled ollies down a six set and I bailed (Very normal) and my knee began to hurt so much. I went to the doctors two months after the "accident" and I had to be operated... Now, after three months, I recently have begun with skating and athletics and it does hurt a little... Like when I bend my knees and I have not warmed up. They say those pains will be over in a couple months. I can not imagine my life without skating!

  • Yeah man it is a huge mental bummer. I used to skate everyday, but now im reduced to watching skate vids and playing skate3 (helps a little, haha). But yeah man, just take it slow. Surgery wasn't too bad for me either in case you're wondering, didn't really feel anything because they drugged me up pretty good. If you have any questions just let me know man

  • did the same to mine last week. its a minor tear and im walking and what not but my surgery isnt for another 2 weeks. so the recovery time is about 6-8 months?

  • @jrich23own yeah thats about it, ive heard longer or shorter though. i think it depends on how seriously you take the physical therapy

  • @sigalig could u skate mini ramps after the surgery and like low impact skating? bcuz i just want on a board.my surgery got pushed back til next month so do u recommend staying off it completely or can i skate mini ramps?

  • @jrich23own well i think its not a huge deal as long as youre careful. i was doing some pressure flips and shit cus it didnt hurt my injured leg i remember. but yeah just an update to all you guys having knee problems, its not the end of the world. trust me. i felt like that for a while, felt like my skating was permanently going to go to shit. but you can get better, its all about getting past the mental block once your knee is better. and it will get better.

  • @sigalig yea man im on my 3rd month of recovery and shits good. one more month and i can return to work but im gonna wait for the 7 month mark to skate so in july. hopefully itll b good

  • hey dude i just tore mine like 3 days ago. I just found out i tore it today when i went to a bone specialist. Im terrified about the surgery. How long did it take till you can walk after surgery? Also how long till you could skate after surgery? The doctor said it could take up to a year so i got real scared after hearing that.

  • @Hectorrskates the surgery isn't scary at all, but the week after is pretty painful, im not gonna lie. also extremely boring. youll be in bed for a week or two and then on crutches for however long your surgeon says. mine told me 6 weeks. the physical therapy is tough too but its the most important so take it seriously. the better you do the faster you're skating. my surgeon said 8-9 months of no skating, but i only did 6 months. its just hard to get comfortable again, but it will come back.

  • @Hectorrskates im sorry to hear about your knee by the way, it really is the worst injury you can get for skating but just stay positive about it and do everything you can to help it heal correctly. i dont wanna scare you but the next year for you will affect how your knee feels for the rest of your life, so just be smart about it

  • @sigalig thanks a lot. Ill try to stay off skating for as long as i have to. Its better late than never.

one more question. how does it feel now that its all fully held, is there any difference in walking or skating?

  • @Hectorrskates im honestly not really sure. in some ways i think it feels better than my "good" knee, because my doctor says she thinks im genetically prone for knee injuries like some people tend to be. but also my "bad" leg a.k.a the one i had surgery on still feels a little weaker than the other one which i think i could fix just by going to the gym a little bit. other than that the only difference between me now and me before my acl tear is that im just scared of hurting it again.

  • @sigalig i just hope i dont get scared to hurt it again enough to stop skating. Thanks again for the info.

  • @Hectorrskates I feel your pain man. I tore my medial meniscus and ACL about a month ago and im looking at possible surgery here soon. Im in the same boat, like I don't wanna do this all over again skating. Keep me posted with your recov man, i'll let you know how mine goes too. Good luck.

  • @DarkestHourRock hows your knee doing? my surgery is in one month.

  • @jrich23own I had surgery about two months ago and my recovs been going great. Still not back on a board yet, but Im not trying to rush it either. I cant imagine having to go another 6+ months without skating, or any physical activity at that. Off crutches and doing physical therapy to strengthen up my quads so I can be active again. Did you tear your meniscus and ACL?

  • @DarkestHourRock yea they said i may have a small meniscus tear but at first glance they said no. doctor told me after surgery ill be back skating in a month so thats why I wanted to ask a real skater if thats true. I mean im not gnna skate stairs for like another year or so but how is your knee doing for like running or jumping. one last question , if u could skate a small mini ramp how long do u think after surgery do u think that could be a possibility ?THANKS ALOT MAN

  • @jrich23own It'll be easier for you to recover man, I had a massive buckethandle tear in my meniscus along with rupturing my ACL. I wont be back on a board for at least another 3-4 months on top of the 6 months that have already passed. Yeah I did mine on stairs, so I wont be doing those anytime soon but I still cant run or jump. All I can say is make sure you give yourself a little extra time than you really need just to be safe. better to wait an extra month than having to wait another 6.

  • @DarkestHourRock so after all my physical therapy do u think ill be back in a month or two. im filming for a local shop video and i need to get my name out there. the doctor said ill be back in a month but i wanna know from a skater

  • @jrich23own it varies with everyone since recovery speeds vary with body type, but in the end, It really depends on how serious you take your physical therapy too. If you keep at it and do it how ever often they tell you too and doing stuff at home, it'll speed things along at a good pace. Biggest thing is to not rush it, even if you think you can walk and youre still on crutches just to be safe. But yeah man, I can't say exactly when you'll be back skating, just keep on physical therapy.

  • @DarkestHourRock thanks alot bro, just gnna stick to what u said and not ruse it. this sucks mentally more than anything ya know? like skating was my life and now i do nothing til my surgery

  • iv torn my acl and my meniscus cartilage i have had surgery and its been 3 months and i still cant straighten my knee im now having another operation because my last one has failed, has anyone has this before and did anyone do football (Soccer) and went back to it doing matches and stuff

  • hey dude you back to skating normal yet? i tore mine 6 mo. ago and have only been skating flatground.. surgery is next week.. do you use a brace and if so how does it affect your skating?

hope you came out at least near 100% recovery!

  • @zerofallen18 yeah im pretty much skating normally now. my surgeon said i should skate till 8 months after surgery but i started in december and just wore the brace always. the brace is kind of annoying to put on all the time but it gives you that peace of mind. i stopped wearing it like a month ago though, and i feel great skating, i only wear it if im gonna skate stairs

  • @sigalig ive torn my meniscus when i was doin a backflip and i think acl to but i dont know for sure(about the acl) whats the best way for diagnosis? i had it 6 months ago and injurd it couple more time while bboying......can i return doing backflips after rehabilitation? thanks

  • @TheRawbboy i think you just need to see a doctor and they will do some tests and stuff on it. i got an MRI and thats how they knew for sure. and usually if you do everything right for rehab youll be back to normal after about a year

  • This happened to e while playing basketball, my knee hyperextended backwards T_T

  • fake

  • is it almost better?

  • @Tyronetonic getting there, im gonna try to start relearning my shit in about a month. riding around isnt hard though

  • @sigalig ya i know how u feel i broke my ankle and my hip in the begining of summer all the tricks are still slightly in ur memory it just takes a while to get the feel of it back

  • @Tyronetonic fuck man yeah injuries suck balls. ive been pretty lucky though, been skating 6 years and never been out of skating for more than a month which that was due to a back problem so yeah this is my first time really. hopefully its not too bad getting back on the board

  • @sigalig ya good luck

  • crap. happenned to me too.

  • @skatebajeebas fuck dude im sorry. this is like the worst shit of my life, im sure your feelin my pain

  • @sigalig totally... nothing makes me want to puke more than my knees feeling like they're gonna buckle

  • @dritb4 yeah im on percocet haha but hopefully ill be skating again in 6 months or less.

  • @dritb4 yeah yesterday. ive been in a pretty big deal of pain today its not fun at all

  • @dritb4 surgery sucks. never get it hahaha

  • @dritb4 its actually in about 5 days, but hopefully all goes swimmingly

  • hope ya get that shit over with, the surgery and all that crap

  • you shoulda ramped this for dramatic effect

  • dude that sux hope you get better soon

  • its always the falls that dont look much effect you the most, my friend did this a year ago and hes just gettin back on his board, the main reason it took so long was getting a date for the operation to remove tendon from his calf muscle and put it where his teared acl was. get well soon dude.

  • @23snowy23 yeah ive heard so many different takes, people skating after a month, ranging to a year. its really confusing. i guess ill just have to see for myself. thanks though

  • damn that sucks, get better

  • mad blunt passin...

  • @mjmorrell music blastin...

  • @majorlyrandom you guys got it all wrong. MAD question askin, blunt passin, music blastin

  • Comment removed

  • @LazyDaysSD wait i'm guessing it's the left knee since you were holding it at the end.

  • @LazyDaysSD well if you look at my left knee right when i land on my feet it kind of collapses to the right

  • dude that was a sick ass trick sucks that ur acl tore

  • damm nigguh sorry to hear that hope the best of luck to you

  • Where is this skate spot at?

  • @MikeFromCA

its at washington elementary in downtown san diego

  • That sucks.

  • thats basically the same thing i did when i broke my knee, but instead of the acl tearing, my acl tightened and tore the tibial spine off

  • lmfao, some fag in my gym calls is upsessed with talking about football and his injuries, and one of his injuries was tearing his ACL , and he saus hes pree much right fucked

    lol

  • @braganskate what the hell are you talking about
