i wish people would quit clumping Gods word with "the liberal" or "conservative" labels. both of them in governmental standards are as crooked as all get out. @bengalboi77 we added "Under God" to our pledge in the 50's. and the founding fathers were for the most part deists. If they wanted us to be a christian nation then they wouldn't have put so many measures in our Constitution decreeing that we were to be seperate from any one religion.

as for your original point, i agree. people must stop politicizing religion and work on the issues.

There was a video on this already. It's convoluted the way they they're explaining it. I collect bible translations and read them, I've never seen "comrade" . If they're going to take out the adulteress story, they are complete bastards. And YHWH is in the original texts 7,000 times. So what doe they mean they are going back to original language. They are LIARS.

Also, all those translations that you show, if you compare them they are all in harmony. They say the same thing, just different styles. This controversy might help people learn more about the Bible because of what the group's claims are for ex. taking out the adulteress story requires ignoring certain codexes, so people will learn more about what that means. If they just stuck with convincing people of language inaccuracies, that's one thing. But taking out an entire codex? Even fundies b mad

for example... the King James Version says in 2 Tim. 2:15 - Study to show thyself approved unto God... other versions read "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved"... those 2 read totally different from each other

I don't know if i should apologize for my nature and caricature.needles to say nick picking is just the way i am i like to hone the facts or better understanding. The English versions of the bible did not begin with Mr.King James but was a result of expression of freedom I can site futher but thats boring.
