@trackend Thanks for that. I copy and keep all the vilest comments saved for adding to our collection. All good stuff to bring down the anti smoking bigots by exposing what they (and you are really like).
Though I have to deal with annoying cig smoke everyday since my mum's boyfriend smokes inside the house.
I hate the smell of cigs and I hate how he is not only hurting himself but also my mum as well by his smoking.
I have to stay in my room all the time since I can not even come out of my room because of the smoke. I mean, I can not even go a toilet or come out and get food/talk to mum.
I go outside and there are smokers. I can not bloody escape them. So annoying....
Also if it was to be up to me then I would make it so that all all smokers would have to quit smoking forever. All smokers would of course get so many months of free smoking patches.
I mean, they are slowing killing themself and everyone else around them so the fewer smokers around the better.
Then at least as peoples health will be able to get better and people will be able to live a longer life.
Why would someone not want their health to get better? :/
@babylips32 Youi are a victim of the anti smoking fraud. SHS will not harm you, and even direct smoking has never been proven to cause harm. The lies have gone unquestioned for too long. Look beyond the lies and re-read your posts. You have become hatefull and afraid of people simply because they choose to do something you don't like.
What some people don't seem to realise that this is just the tip of the iceburg. A litmus test to see if the government can lie, bully and brainwash the country to follow their will. ALL THAT NICK HOGAN WAS SENT TO JAIL FOR WAS BASED ON LIES. If we tolerate this one case, it could happen to ANYONE. We can't fight the whole system at once. But if we can focus on this front line of government stupidity (anti-smoking) then maybe they will get the message that WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS SHIT.
A small thing? if smoking is just a triffling matter why is there a ban at all? Ok, lets ban footbal. Football is and excellent target because technically football is also just 'a small thing'; nobody will die if we ban football and if anyone objects we can tell them not to be so triffling and trivial, afterall football is just 'a small thing'. An example of total intellectual dishonesty on your part.
You could draw some parallels between smoking and football (if you quite wrongly believe everything the media tell you about smoking). You can cause harm to those around you, it can cause you pain in later life and is therefore bad for your health, it can make you smelly, playing football is a form of exersice, excersice has been known to be addictive, your injuries are your own fault as you shouldn't be playing football and so on. The warnings are the same but, as with smoking, not worth a damb
Radbot, like many who argue for the ban you shift logic as it becomes apparent a particular argument is failing. If you use the argument that it is wrong to object to a smoking ban because smoking 'is a small thing', then the argument would also apply to a ban on football, because football is also 'a small thing' and so objecting to a football ban would be triffling and trivial behaviour. As for smoking being 'bad for you', people regularly injure themselves playing football.
Why is there a ban? For one thing it has nothing to do with health. If MPs were so concerned for the health of smokers then why does the house of commons have a smoking room when they make it law to not allow anybody else to have one.
He was arrested? Great! What kind of idiot, in this day and age, still smoke? Whats worse is that this asshole supports something like, breaks the law and expect or sympathy? That animal rot in jail for all we care.
Of all the things to support, this has to be the stupidest. Smoking as cancer in our society. Can wait till they ban that shit EVERYWHERE!
Emmm! Yet another fool. Thanks for sharing your inability to grasp freedom with the rest of the world. And thanks for boosting my viewing and comment figures. Cheers mate ;-)
All too often people, even doctors assume that when somebody dies of cancer, if they happened to be a smoker, it must have been caused by that, even tho they have no proof of that. Part of getting proof is eliminating all other possible causes of the cancer which has never been done. They only go by statistics which can be made to support any claim you like. Smoking studies have been thrown out of court for being complete bollocks. Just saying for the benifit of those that didn't know.
Another anti smoking gullible fool places yet another worthless comment (because he's stupid enough to be dragged in), and gives my my video another two ticks in the box. One for views and one for comments. Cheers again mate, keep em coming.
Weapons of any size are known to seriously damage health and yet they are for sale, legally too, on any scale.
Money is the key: drugs mean BIG money - and tobacco is a drug you can legally trade in. There'll always be addicts so it's a safe investment. Neat, isn't it?
There's tons of evidence out there, if you look for it.
I've lost someone to lung cancer, and, yes, he'd been warned decades ago to give up smoking. He's just a statistic now.
Run along now ispy, you've lost all semblance of logic, you've lost every argument you've tried to start, and more importantly, you've demonstrated for all the world to see, that anti smokers are devoid of inteligence. Congratulations on setting the anti smoking movement back a few decades;-)
If smoking is so god damn dangerous pleae tell me why they are LEGAL to buy/smoke? YES, they generate a bloody good sum out of us smokers, however if it was the case that they were DANGEROUS surely they would be banned altogether, No?
Sorry mate, but what happens in a single parish is clearly not representative of nationwide statistics. And you're wrong when you say that publicans can run their property as they please. A racist publican can't ban e.g. black patrons on the grounds of personal choice. Legislation isn't always such a bad thing, is it.
It won't hurt a smoker to spend 5' outside in the space of say, half an hour. It hurts non-smokers spending every evening out inhaling cigarette smoke non-stop. I rest my case.
You have no case. Nationwide statistics clearly demonstrate non smoking venues are unpopular. Many areas didn't have smoke free pubs because they were not profitable in those areas. Now that all pubs are forced to be smoke free, all pubs are proving to be less profitable. As for your nonsense about racism. Complete tosh. Landlords have always had the right to kick anyone out of their own property without even giving a reason.
As I said, either propose something reasonable, or just accept that a licence for a a legal business is a contract with the state: once you sign it, honour it, otherwise DON'T sign it.
Until the ban there was NO smoke-free pub or bar. Ergo, you can't rely on the owners' arbitrary choice, which effectively meant NO choice for non-smokers. NIL, ZERO, NONE. Simple enough to grasp, I should hope.
Wrong again, before the ban Nick owned two pubs next door to each other. One was smoking, the other non smoking. Likewise, here in the parish I live in, we had a drinking/smoking pub, and a non smoking food pub. Choice existed. If you struggled to find a non smoking pub in your area, then that simply demonstrates there was not enough customer demand to warrent one. You could of course, invest your own money in opening a smoke free pub of your own, if you thought it a shrewd investment.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Got a better proposition? Smoking is not a matter of aesthetic choice. And unlike e.g. alcohol(ism) its harms not only those who choose the habit but anyone exposed to it. The smoker has a choice: smoke in your own home or go outside for a few minutes and have your fag. What's the non-smoker supposed to do? Never go into a pub? Stand outside the pub all night, pint in hand? Come on! Either propose something reasonable or accept that if you want to run a business legally, you'll abide by the law.
I have repeatedly proposed the reasonable but you seem unable or unwilling to understand. Only the property owner should decide smoking or non smoking. And we as potential customers choose for ourselves which venues to visit. You could choose not to enter smoking pubs, just as I could choose not to enter non smoking pubs. Now if that is still to hard for you to understand, then I'm afraid there's little more I can do to help for you.
Free Nick AND show the bastards in power what we think of their bans. ASH and their ilk may have the funding and the ears of the slackjaws in Parliament, but we have right and strength and dignity on ours, things they simply can't understand.
I believe Nick's protest is his refusal to pay a fine for an unjust law. He does not want the government to get a penny out of this act of state imposed extortion. Not from him, nor anybody else.
Fair enough. It just angers me that a hard working man is now in prison because of the liars at ASH. I want to see him out and I want ASH and their Labour puppets humiliated. So I donated. But I see Nick's point. I suppose regardless of what he wants it's up to everyone to decide what they want to do.
Oh cut the 'freedom fighter' 'hero' crap. Smoke to death in your own homes, if that's what you fancy, and give a break to the people who are not thrilled by the prospect of lung cancer, bronchial disease, or asthma attacks. A public house is a public place. The publican's property, yes; but s/he gets a licence to run it by agreeing to certain conditions stipulated by the law. Don't like it? Change jobs.
And if you don't like how a landlord chooses to run his own business, then don't go in. Choice for property owners and patrons is what we should all desire.
He doesn't. I looked at his channel yesterday and noticed someone had left a comment informing him that he had no reason to leave such foul language on their video. Today that comment has been removed.
Donation button on Old Holborn's blog. Pay with Paypal or card to help Nick pay the ridiculous costs they imposed. Once he's paid he's free to go. Not only can we get Nick out but we can truly stick it to the system. Imagine how the Stasi will feel once Nick walks free within a week because despite their manipulations of the law, the people won't stand for it.
I wish I could say I'm surprised but unfortunately I'm not.
I remember reading about a pensioner who'd witheld her council tax as a protest because it basically wiped out her pension.
The government bang on about how the prisons are overcrowded so they can't accommodate rapists and muggers but they still found a cell for an 80 year old who made a stand against this tyrannical regime.
This is the kind of thing that takes places only in a totalitarian state. Anti-smokers have clearly become an anti-freedom movement and everyone, smoker and non, should be taking notice.
Thankyou TheSeraskier, very nice of you to prove my case for me. Anti smoking laws breed hostility and promote prejudice. You are a credit to humanity.
Well it sounds like they are trying to make an example out of Mr. Hogan and as soon as they do that they will begin doing it alot more ... while he is taking up a spot in prison there are ppl commiting real crimes out doing what they please, this is really sad and pathitic, how much tax dollars are being spent keeping him there for that i wonder..im at a loss for words,i was actually humiliated at a 4th of july display for smoking in the stands outside...but this is going too far. :'(
There's talk of arranging something on the f2c forum. Though it's early days yet. There's already a facebook group been set up for everyone from all over the world to show support for Nick.
Keep people posted. Don't forget about him while he's sitting in jail over the next few months. We need to do something. See if you can get an address or contact info for Nick.
England used to be such a wonderful, lovely, fun place to visit. Pubs were a big part of that cultural appeal. Now...it's just a good place to be scorned for doing something normal and get arrested in accordance with horrid laws.
With significantly lower pub patronage, the taxmen must be getting less in taxes. They'll have to make it up elsewhere--from smokers, nonsmokers and antismokers. Hmmm...how much is Britain losing in international trade?
And THAT is the crux of it. Fols don't see that this opens the door for all sorts of sorry excuses for imprisonment. Idiots believe the Nanny State will "take care" of them, but that's not true. A Nanny State will overtax, imprison and poison its "subjects" (not "constituents").
It's a bloody disgrace, I've never been so disgusted with my own country. I've met Nick Hogan many times, along with his friend Hamish Howitt. Nick is one gentle giant who would not hurt anyone, not even a non-smoker. Hopefully there will be a backlash about this, even some sort of demo outside his prison...
And it really is "decimation", too. Literally. One in ten pubs have closed in the UK since the ban. If it continues at this rate there won't be any pubs left by 2018. Wake up people! Let your MP know that deliberate closing of private enterprise by the State will not be tolerated!
That said, I don't know who to blame more for this. The Nazi sociopaths at ASH, the idiot slackjaws in Parliament who listened to them or the landlords who complied and thought a tarpaulin was an adequate response to the victimisation of the majority of their clientele, In Europe bans have been overturned in days because landlords fought back. In some ways the trade desreves its decimation as there have been too few peole willing to back up men like Hogan.
I'm disgusted. Truly, truly disgusted. Can there be any doubt that we live in a totlitarian state when a man can be imprisoned for the actions of the other? Especially when those actions are "smoking a cigarette". I've seen cases of GBH where the perpetrator got 6 months. I wonder if those idiot Labour MPs who crow about the Ban's compliance rate will now think about why.... because hard-working citizens will be banged up if they don't! Idiots! Nazi idiots! This makes me so angry....

I do not understand why you are moaning for.
I am pretty sure that you said that he allowed people to smoke in his home which was a pub.
The ban applies to a pub and so it does not matter if it is your home or not.
The pub section comes first and so of course he would get sent to jail since you are not allowed to smoke in pubs anymore.

My word, HC, your arguments for smoking are eloquent, level-headed, rational and substantiated by powerful statistics.
Oh, and your petty remarks to someone who's lost a relative to smoke-related lung cancer are truly touching.
This is getting duller than watching paint dry. Bye-bye.

The British justice system is slowly being erradicated in favor of a new European system, which favors state control over individual rights.

And THAT is the crux of it. Fols don't see that this opens the door for all sorts of sorry excuses for imprisonment. Idiots believe the Nanny State will "take care" of them, but that's not true. A Nanny State will overtax, imprison and poison its "subjects" (not "constituents").
It's only the beginning.

It was rival landlords that actually complained to the council about Nicks defiance. He was betrayed by the very trade he tried to save.
