It might be hard to tell from the terrible audio here, but Cher is the only other singer I know who sings the original Barbara George lyrics, rather than trying to "improve" them or "whiten" them - "hurted" and "joy", etc.
Even my beloved Bonnie Raitt "cleaned them up" grammatically, and made the song sound like a joke .... and she managed to confuse who said what to whom in the process.
It's also epic. Interestingly, Gregg Allman did a different upbeat, teasing, song called "You Don't Love Me," but such a strangely similar title. Just striked me that for two that professed a lack of love, they sure had a wonderful son together, Elijah Blue. *smiles*
*Wish This Would Come Out on CD!* <3*Great Album!*<3 *It Was So Under-Rated.* ; )

Thanks...I just googled the name of the song and she came up as the original singer-I love her version much better!

@DAVCOUGAR I don't think so dude. It wasn't written by a bloke. It was written by Barbara George in 1961 and she took it to #2 worldwide.

I love it when they cover each others songs....cause they have very few fans in common...CHERocked when she sang "I'm No Angel"
Yes their son Elijah is like a hybrid of both of their talents...Almost too talented for the music industry to get him...
