Theres nothing wrong with drinking coffee, it has tons of health benefits when you drink it daily. You can drink up to 4 cups daily which will prevent certain types of cancer. Brewing your own would be the way to go, I love my organic coffee every morning and my green tea during the day. MALES, research the health benefits of coffee before you stop drinking it completely. I am not addicted to coffee, I can go stop whenever I want, I choose not to due to the health benefits.
caffeine is a highly addictive drug and should be criminalized because it's obvious when you pay 8 bucks for a starbuck your an addict and should lose your jobs for getting high before you go.
Too much fruit is too much sugar. One coffee a day (black) won't hurt you and in fact may be beneficial. Too much of anything is a bad thing. Lots of "trendy news" rolling around this info highway..beware. Linda McCarthy, Jackie O, and many other self professed vegans ended up dying (rather young) of cancer. Enjoy your life and do your homework. I like this woman...seems like a lovely person with good intentions.
I don't want to quit,I hate sleep, and coffee helps me fight sleep, caffeine pills make my heart beat erratic, but coffee gives me just the right amount of caffeine,in controlled dosage. My friend drinks 2 pots of coffee per day for many years.
Bravo! I was addicted to 6 cups a day and I was able to stop using the java 21 years ago by having yerbe mate tea instead and by adding smoothies in the AM packed with power. Thanks for sharing !
I have heard the opposite that black/green tea can have more caffeine than coffee. Of course, I just drink regular coffee not espresso. Chinese Oolong tea and GREEN tea HAVE CAFFEINE it is not HERBAL TEA! Barley tea, known as mugicha in Japan has no caffeine. I do agree people are hyped up on sugar and caffeine in the US and that it contributes to road rage.
whats weird with me was that i never really liked coffee for thje caffine buzz, i never realy got any kind of energy boost from it. i guess i have a really slow metabolism, i can dein a red bull and stay calm and even still tired. what i liked abolut coffee was the flavor, i got into preparing and roasting my own coffee under the name of the "third wave coffee movement" and was able to make some of the best tasting coffee in the world right in my own home! thats what was addictive for me.
This is the one thing I haven't been able to give up while going raw. Is there nothing to substitute for iced coffee drinks? I haven't learned to love tea yet. I'm tired of failing at quitting coffee... :/
Great topic. Today is day 1 again of no coffee. I brewed up some of the black tea and enjoyed it very much. Last time I quit coffee, I did the green tea first, then herbal, then water with lemon. Never got a migraine. In my opinion it's the best way to slowly taper down on the caffeine. One thing about coffee is i'm pretty sure it's been the cause of eczema on my hand. We will see. If my hand clears up after this week, I will write a book. I've tried everything at this point.
sure thing. I've read many stories of people who are allergic to coffee although it could also be the herbicide pesticide fungicide on the beans. Some of them had severe rashes. Once they go off the coffee the eczema goes away. Here's hoping.
