  • Yes R I P Buddy. You were a fantastic tromboneplayer!

  • What a beautiful sound, it's a shame "pretty" isn't done as frequently, or as well, as at the time these two gems were recorded.

Could you you even find guys who can really play 10% in this style, even if they were otherwise top-flight players?

  • @JVTeragarden

    Check out Dave Steinmeyer

  • My dad was 1st. trombone for Fred Warings Canteen Dance Band in Tyrone, PA., during WWII. Buddy always reminded me of my dad's warm tone. RIP Buddy...

  • Wonderful musician, Beautiful sound !

It is very sad when an Icon in the Trombone world is lost. He will be missed but his style and music will live on!

  • Buddy Morrow (February 8th, 1919 - September 27th, 2010). One of the really great big band leaders from the 1950s and 60s, Buddy Morrow has died at the age of 91. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, and performed his last gig on Friday night. He was a truly exceptional musician and an even greater human being. I will miss him tremendously.

  • @USRoute66

You and me both. He was a good friend.

  • Just found out that you and Buddy played at Urbie's "21 trombones" project. The sound of that trombone choir is simple amazing.

  • great tribute to one of the greatest tones ever on a trombone!

  • What a sound! I guess you must be practising endless hours to achieve that.
