Well, that's been done before in anime back around the 70's and 80's. Why do you think many anime series back then have over 100 to 200+ eps?

Personally, combining manga chapters in anime is the best route to go. Though, the better route to go, which some manga series are getting, is to wait til the manga series end or about to end before making an anime series.
