I will gladly give this new entry to the series a try. RE5 ruined as much as it could "The ant-iclimactic deaths of Oswell E. Spencer and Albert Wesker". I don't see what else they could possibly ruin now. Besides, finally Leon and Chris are in the same game. And Zombies are back. Maybe, just maybe, this action Resident Evil can prove to be better then RE5.

I really miss the classic resident evil, there was nothing wrong with survival horror. All this ultra sci-fi, over dramatic and simplistic world wide conspiracy really drags down my respect for what this game has become. Its like they just desperately wanted to compete with metal gear for over the top michael bay action and matrix fight scenes.

I like how its back to zombies finally, but this just seems like a series that got hijacked by a bad hollywood studio.

@FernandoDANTE If you are old enough to have played them at the time, they played very well. I don't understand how you can say resident evil 2 played horribly? I certainly enjoyed it more than res4 and 5, sure it didn't have as good mechanics (it wasn't supposed to be a shooter) but it had tense atmosphere and for its time broke a lot of ground, pushing good drama and story with such limited hardware.

The new chapter based gameplay, & 'lock behind you' doors really kill the sense of adventure.

@digitised I agree about the atmosphere, I played Res2 back in the day, and it was a really tense game to play. But it wasn't FUN. By the time I finished the first disc, I didn't feel like I had enjoyed myself, and didn't even bother going to the second disc. Beating the game was a generally unpleasant experience, regardless of how atmospheric it was.

Yeah, RE4 became a shooter, but I fucking loved the mechanics, and I also felt a lot of tension. Especially after you fight the first regenerator

Man this looks so much cooler than 5 was, no more foreign countries, bringing back the dark city scape, Leon is as hot as ever, and Chris no longer looks like a steroid abuser. What could be better?

They're first impressions and since the game has the same setup as RE 2 and copied cover mechanics from Gears of War, it just gives the impression that Capcom isn't trying anymore. Maybe if Capcom actually cared for it's fanbase, they would give them a Megaman game instead of ANOTHER RESIDENT EVIL GAME. Updated graphics doesn't a good game make, so don't use that excuse for "innovation".
