What about evidence? You can't arrest someone without concrete evidence that they committed the crime. A missing rhinestone is not solid evidence. This show has the poorest grasp of law I've ever seen.
Anybody can be arrested at anytime for anything. Doesn't mean they will be trialed by court, You can arrest someone for reasonable suspicion or justified cause. It's an attorney's and detective job to build a case against them. You can get a confinement extension when you process them. Key word being can. It may or may not be granted. It depends on weather or weather not it's warranted. Some people are arrested a dozen times before they are finally prosecuted.
