This song is so sad. It brings sad memories to me everytime i hear this song. The first ime that i heard this song was when my grand mother had her stroke and it just so happens that it was the same day/night that Princess Diana died. That was the worst day ever i almost lost my grandmother and an england princess died. I thank god to this day for saving my grandmother and letting her live her life the way she wanted to .

Wow I feel old now. I've seen two different people mentioning they were six when Diana died. I was 16. That was one year I'll not soon forget. My grandmother died three months after Diana. The day after I turned 17. I love this song though. Elton did a fantastic job as usual. Diana will be missed. She was a truly compassionate woman, cut down way too early in life.

I was about 6 or 7 and I was in pain because I had smashed my finger in a door. I was watching the news holding a rag to a very bloody finger.

Combine this with the fact that I knew nothing of British royals at the time and you get a very confused little kid wondering why there was a princess of whales.
