I'd like to see a video of someone doing the side arm (aka forearm) air bounce. Back hand airbounce is easy for me. A regular side arm is easy for me... however a side arm air bounce has become the holy grail of throws for me.
@brava27 More distance will come with doing 2 things - putting more snap on the disc and putting more power on the throw (using your core, shoulders, arms, hips, everything together...). Work on the mechanics (wrist snap and power) and work on developing your technique. Once you have that down, start throwing longer throws. Check out my video "Throwing Forehand - Isolating Spin from Power"
@rjmcleod04 Appreciate it! I always seem to get everything down good in-game but when I try the huck or "kick off" It doesnt go as far. Annoying. Thanks!
@dogg2325 That's the natural motion for me when I'm snapping since I try to keep my palm pointed up so the disc remains flat on release, the disc will be slightly angled down as I snap. When I'm throwing an outside-in, the disc won't be pointed more to the ground...
Rob, do you have any tips on how I can get better accuracy with my throws? I'm 15 and 6ft 2 so I'm a bit taller than most frisbee players my age but the problem is, I try to use my reach alot so I always try and stretch out my body and arms past the defender for throws to the point that i get so low my knee touches, but then about 40% of the time the throw is a bit farther off than I wanted it to be, most of the time it's still catchable, just a bit far.
@jzinit You really need to practice throwing over and over and over. Figure out what technique will work best for you. Since you're taller than most guys, definitely use your reach to your advantage. Watch ultimate videos and games and see how the good players throw (Ultivillage has a bunch of them...watch Alex Nord, Chase, Andrew Lugsdin, Mike Grant). Model your throwing after them...and let me know if I can help at all!
Just wanted to let you know that my team (New Vista High School) was the state champions this year in the mixed division. Just thought I would let you know after we had been talking about it! Keep the videos coming man, they are great!
Yeah, I'm junior in high school. The team has been doing pretty well this year. We lost some pretty key players after last year, and didn't do as well as we had hoped in the mixed division. However we are now splitting into a girls and an open division, and both of those teams are looking really good! I'll keep you updated!
I don't know whether you plan on attending College nationals this year for any reason, but they will be in Boulder, CO which is

@brava27 Search through my videos for "pulling". I have 5 of them which should help you with your throws as well...

I need practice. I guess throwing it 20 times in a game doesnt really cut it. Having 10 discs would help alot.
brava27 11 months ago
i noticed as ur about to flick, the top of the frisbee is pointed more to the ground as your loading up. does that give more snap?

@rjmcleod04 where I live. If you do end up coming out for them, we should get throw. Maybe you could do a clinic with my team.
Always enjoy the videos! Keep it up!

This is exactly what I was looking for to help with my forehand. I'm gonna leave this on repeat for like 20 minutes then go out and throw for awhile.
