  • Can you please tell me the main differences in the s3 and the s4? Am about to buy one but can't try one out so I have to go with what i hear. So whats the difference in sound & playability?

  • @jeppejeppenej S3 = rosewood fingerboard - warmer sounds, less high mids, but more presence.. not as punchy. S4 = maple fingerboard, very snappy, more aggressive - i prefer the feel of it... the tone is better for greg howe'ish sounds.

  • Hey Steve, I think I really loved this tone here with the LoneStar better than with your Mark V, Legacy II, Cornford Hellcat, and the Port City Sahana. Great tone! Andrew.

  • i loved to learn some of that sthff sounds great. be nice to know what hes doin

  • Hey did the SSH+ Humbucker can be Splited???

  • @JesusWorship7 It can be, but it's not currently set up to split on this guitar.

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar THank's That help me very much!!!!

  • Wow, I stumbled on this solo and it blew me away. Very stylish, you're really talented musician :D

  • I have a red S6 on the way and I am so excited about it.

What I would like to ask you is, are you using full bridge humbucker, or just the one coil?? I am trying to achieve that fusion type of tone.

  • @JPMike Congrats! In this video, the bridge humbucker, and then the neck pickup.. No splits.

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar

    pñease waht chords ?

    thanx

  • I never saw a noob playing a Suhr. And surely will never see one until I buy one

  • What is the finish on that S4?

I have an S4 on order from October. Scheduled for next month.

I went with Bengal Burst but it is hard to tell from the website how that will look.

That guitar you got just looks incredible. It is killing me waiting for mine.

    Incredible playing BTW!

  • @erusmil This one is Rootbeer Stain - it looks very similar to Bengal Burst.. I had a hard time choosing between the two - the dealer had the same guitar in both colors, oddly enough! You're going to love your Suhr.. It's well worth the wait!

  • Hi Folks, Steve Hubbard here.

  • 5 Stars!!

  • ouch !!!

  • You have fantastic picking technique! How about a lesson so I can overtake you? Ha!

  • daaaaammmnnn greg howe-ish

  • What effects pedals are you using?

  • Its the white greg howe!

  • Wow i want to play like that, love the lessons

  • Don't lie "Steve"...you're George St. Pierre, aren't you.

    Great vid!

  • Ha-Ha-Ha!

  • @bobob13131 no its kenny ken flo florian at 1;04

  • nice improv man. Are those the stainless steel frets?

  • Nice playing Steve...might I ask how much you payed for this particular Suhr ?

  • Backibg track is too loud and needs more bass .. Playing is superb. great tone

  • incredible.....

    you're good as tom quayle...

  • hahah.. flattering.. i'd have to disagree though :P

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar yeah noone wants to discredit you but Tom is really in a league of his own.

You are a wonderful player in your own right.

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar I commented before the video was over. Your alternate picking might be a lot better than Tom's.

  • nah, tom is definitely in a league of his own..ill be the first to say so :P

  • or second.. rather

  • @GuillermoSmyser tom is on another planet but steve is good as well..but shit man tom is a damn animal

  • tom's planet is still unknown, and undiscovered.. it could be years before scientists are even ready to study his phrasing

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar who the hell is Tom??? Ur incredible dude!

  • who the hell is tom??? what scales is this guy using in the video??

  • @andrewslads Too many to count

  • em cau fatal aquest paio...

  • Super playing.

  • very nice playing !

  • great playing!

  • Steve, nice job man as always! I would love to dub my crappy playing over yours just to make it sound more interesting...lol! Keep up the e good work man!

  • :o Your playing is so fluid, I love it, and the phrasing is phenomenal. You must teach me :P!

  • Great demo, your tone is fantastic. and I really want to get myself a suhr, but kinda torn in between few choices, and since there's no suhr dealer in my country, yeah.

Can I ask couple of questions.

Do you think if I play fusion, but as well keeping the option for progressive metal and blues rock, should I get the modern model instead? but with the humbuckers on modern model is it possible to achieve smooth fusion tone similar to yours?

  • hmm.. i'd honestly say that you could get by with either.. i view the modern as more of a shredder guitar.. i'd probably go with a pro series, with a HsH configuration.. you can definitely get metal tones on it, and it would still have the versatility of a 'strat'

  • Another great performance. Nice playing. Great legato runs man!!!! Peace, -G.

  • I see we have common interests! nice tone & playing, i just flew from the GMA's in Calgary! where are you from?

  • I'm in the Boston, MA area. I've been thinking of getting a Suhr Pro Series myself. Your guitar sounds phenomenal. Keep in touch man. Peace, -G.

  • Is this a newer S4 (with FL's) or the older one with V60's ? cheers

  • i chose both of my pro's to hasve v60lp's -- have yet to try the FL's yet

  • Great tone! Sounds very good. Nice playing as well. :)

I'm not very knowledgable regarding fusion... Is this a rhythym section that allows room to improvise over it using the chromatic scale? Or is there more to this than that?

  • thanks!

chromatics can really be used in any situation.. though it may not sound as appealling as it does in a funk/blues/jazz genre.. i personally love single chord grooves! they allow a lot of freedom for improv! its very common to go in and out of key when playing this style

  • Ah, I see. Thanks man. :)

  • Excellent!!!

    Grandma mary

  • That's some serious technique you have there!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC

  • I just ordered this exact guitar except with a chrome humbucker! Only 5 months to wait... arrgh so excited.

  • can you record a cover of one of andy timmons's songs with the bb preamp?

i really want to hear it [:

  • wow , you are soo good man! nice lines , i used to have a lonestar special, i could never get that sound of it.. i also had an ibanez rg1570 with dimarzio tone zone pcikup and air norton.. probly why it didn't that sound im guessin...?

  • i used to have a 1570 as well! seemed kind of limited to the heavier side of things.. my secret with the lonestar was to have the treble very high, with the presence very low.. also, mids were cranked up... its all about the mids, man!

  • this video deserves 1000000000 views...

  • fantastic 5* and faves

    saludos

  • Hahaha, you came out of the darkness... awesome playing as always! I look forward to the album release.

  • You are unreal.. Incredible playing man.

  • you look like a Russian assassin dude :D

  • ha!! my hair is 'long' in this vid.. getting it buzzed tomorrow for a mini tour this weekend.. i'm actually a BJJ fighter, and i weigh 130 when im well-cut

  • great stuff

  • Nice shit!

  • Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed listening and watching this - some wonderfully chromatic/"outside" lines in there which weave through the changes seemingly with ease. Hope you're enjoying your G-System, keep up the great music!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC

  • thanks! g-system demo soon to come!
