I noticed that while motoring. I am looking for a used genoa and furling as mine is pretty much shredded and the drum does not marry up with the base. Such is life with an "as is" boat but after sailing her for about a month that seems to be the only issue asside from the TLC that she is recieving now. Any suggestions as to where I could get a used sail (6 or better) at a good price? You may be the only person I know with the same boat! May I bend your ear on her from time to time?
What a great looking boat!! I just bought the same one in Pensacola. Needs some work but I look forward to doing it. Any weakness in the sailing aspects? Sail on Buddy!!
@4PlowKing1 The only weakness I've noted is a "relative" one. Compared to more modern and wider boats, she is somewhat tender. You will have to get used to sailing at a little bit more of an angle than most other boats of the same size. The plus side is that her lines aren't grossly distorted when she heels over. She is very well-balanced, can be made to self steer whenever the wind is forward of the beam, and is surprisingly fast in light air. She is a challenging to maneuver under power.
