  • @superrevivalcom As does about any freaking self-defense art out there. I suggest Krav Maga. Easy to learn, easier to practice.

  • its a simulation fight,it's not a real,in the real fight of jiu jitsu vs aikido, jiu jitsu win.

  • @BJJNathanSK8 Based on what? Your personal opinion?

  • @DiabolusIgnis in my opinion I think it's based on a fight, but do not know because they put the adversary with an aikido gi jiu-jitsu or judo, so it is only a demo, they should use the same kimonos, it made me mad because in a way actual fighting, jiu jitsu wins ;)

  • @BJJNathanSK8 Isn't kimono a dress? You didn't answer what you base your opinion on. What makes jiu jitsu better in a fight?

  • @DiabolusIgnis for me, I respect all martial arts, I think all very good, and each with its own personality and style, but means kimono dress, so, in my opinion, jiu jitsu wins, Why we fight a lot in the ground, which not and think of all the arts, in some only a little, but it has many arts fighting on the ground, trying hard, and we do not use force, so technically, so I think jiu jitsu wins, but no art is better than another to be honest

  • @BJJNathanSK8 Yes, I remember trying out Jiu jitsu a bit one day, and I noticed how much of it goes down on the ground. This, IMHO, is very bad because if facing multiple opponents, you never want to get on the ground, ever.

  • @DiabolusIgnis In west europe, Russia, Ukraina, Caucasus, the best martial art is combat sambo. In America jiu jitsu, vale tudo, mma. But for me aikido good only in films... very little percent of good fighters from aikido. It's good martial art, but not complete.

  • @gianniswow Why is it better, depending on your location? That doesn't make any sense to me. You might very well be right about aikido, but you don't base your arguments on anything. On another note, I think aikido is quite good to practice, since it does improve your health, agility and the likes, but I don't think it's brutal enough to actually work. Where in Krav Maga (damn, I love taking KM as an example...) you incapacitate your opponent, in aikido you leave harming them as an option.

  • @gianniswow And by that I mean the following; Aikido gives you plenty of opportunities to harm your opponent, when you do what you're trained to do correctly. But you don't train to actually harm the opponent. In Krav Maga you train to do this. You punch them, stab them and kick them, whereas in Aikido you go from a strike to something resembling a dance to me. This is of course not a valid truth, as my experience of aikido is restricted to YouTube.

  • lol, it's show only!!! the most effective martial arts is jiu jitsu, boxing, wrestling, combat sambo, grappling.

  • @gianniswow The most effective martial art doesn't exist. None is better than the other. They all serve their purposes, and are a bit different. Boxing is bad, it doesn't include kicking. If your opponent looks up, he won't see your feet. Wrestling is bad, it doesn't include punching. Get real.

  • @DiabolusIgnis the most effective is combat sambo, but better than aikido can be boxing, wrestling, jiujitsu... Only the masters, who occupied all time of his life with aikido can win to simple boxer, wrestler or bjj. sorry for bad english

  • @gianniswow Sadly, you're wrong. Your enthusiasm for combat sambo doesn't make it any better. Prove it's better. Once more, you're basing your argument only on your own opinion, nothing else.

  • @DiabolusIgnis If you saw mma, can you say me the champion of ufc or strikeforce, who present aikido? From combat sambo came Fedor, Alexander Emelianenko and Serghey Kharitonov. But from aikido i don't know the fighters who can win mma match.

  • @gianniswow See, now that's better =) You're basing your argument on something. I don't watch UFC or the likes, so I can't argue against that in any way. But I doubt they use only combat sambo, but something of a combination between it and others.

  • all demonstration in aikido as i anderstand are allways demonstration

aikido its as i anderstand it a way of practist together

a serios of apications but i never seen a real fight in aikido style

so its a way of practist in a safe condition but probebly

not an afective way of self defend

  • What you saw in that video was just about as far away from a Jiu-Jitsu offence as you could possibly get; it certainly does not represent Jiu-Jitsu.

This is obviously just a demo - not "Aikido vs. Jiu-Jitsu." Were this a real fight, the Aikido guy would have been defeated, probably well within ~5 minutes.

Sure, Aikido is a very graceful art and nice to watch as such, but it really doesn't measure in a real fight, agains other trained professionals. That's why Segal is an actor, not a fighter.

  • Aikido is a great self defense art, if you are defending yourself from a retard blindly running right at you.

  • wasn't very good aikido either, the use was just falling over for the camer and audiance... Booooo

  • Please young children DO NOT practice Aikido, for it is fake and you will one day realize that you have wasted your life practicing a phony MA. Try Greco Roman wrestling, Muy Tai, Judo.. something REAL and effective. OR if you just love the fluid motions of Aikido too much to do otherwise.. then there is always Ballet, Tap dancing, or even square dancing.

  • yeah rigth

  • This is so staged. In a real match the aikidoka would be lucky not to be beaten.

  • Is this the japanese version of capoiera(?), That dance over in Brazil..

  • thi is a demostration!

  • it's aikido and jiu jitsu not aikido vs jiu jitsu or just they both could be jiu itsu name of vid is incorrect it's demonstration of aikido moves

  • This video is mislabelled. This is not aikido vs. jujitsu, or anything vs. anything. It is an aikido instructor demontrating techniques on an aikido student who is cooperating for the sake of the demonstration.

  • This is just an Aikido demo. Both guys are Aikido practitioners. The teacher wears the hakama and the student doesn't. Someone just put Aikido vs Jiu Jitsu to get a rise out of people and it worked (well done BTW). It's also funny to see people instantly taking Jiu Jitsu to mean BJJ as if that's the only form of Jiu Jitsu. Those kinds of reactions out the actual martial arts practitioners from the ones that just watch MMA and martial arts on the TV and internet.

  • The reason it appears "fake" is because the demonstration goes too smooth. That is because the guy in white knows how to fall properly. It is called "ukemi" - the technique of negating damage/impact upon falling.

Clearly this is just a show but if it was someone without experience in ukemi, it will look very different.

  • how can people watch this and think it is real???

  • the guy supposedly "bjj" is some cunt that they paid 5 bucks to put on a gi and roll over that aikido guy... seriously how can you call this a real contest

  • @klah4dor No need to use foul language oh lowlifedoka.

  • @klah4dor It's a demo you imbecile..

  • @klah4dor its an aikido demo, its pretty obvious

  • demonslayer, it's just that aikido work only if your foe is attackin you. it'll take like one or two match for ther UFC member to see a guy as an aki-dumbs ass. When you're against an akidokaï, do not atttack him and find another way to fight, and you sure will win.

  • 合気道すげーな

  • I really wish that beating a BJJ practitioner was this easy, AIKIDO is good discipline but if it s tougher than BJJ why arent there any AIKIDO champs in UFC or any other fighting league.

  • this so called jiu jitsu practitioner isnt even in the correct stance. hes too narrow and not low enough. this is fake.

  • I've seen professional wrestling that looks less fake than this.

  • Aikido vs man trying to touch face...

  • looks great as a demonstration but, I think not in a real fight.

  • @spareaxe hahahhahaa u are realy wrong you should try to grab some aikido sensei and find out what's a real pain.

  • I doubt that guy is a ju jutsu black belt. He runs at the guy with one arm extended like an idiot. This is seriously a demo and not a compitetion.

  • @Balor22 this is all for show. a BJJ black belt would destroy that aikido fighter. aikido is not practical, and is foolishly showy. BJJ is practical and brutal

  • Aikido its a fake

  • this looks like nothing more than a aikido demonstration and that's what the title should reflect. if it was really a demonstration of aikido vs jiu-jitsu, then let's see him throw Rickson or Royler Gracie around like that, lol.

  • aikido works great...against willing ukes anyone who thinks aikido is anything but a waste of time deserves to be thrown in the cage against fedor

  • this is not fake, I agree with Ece Sheva. in real life people would not go tumbling and falling like this, they'd go ouch my arm! you see, the guy here is a professional, falling is an art of self defence where you reduce potential injury by going with the flow. that's Aikido, when you enrol in aikido lessons, the first thing they'd teach you is how to fall correcctly as to avoid getting injured. this is professional, not fake.

  • @kitnacs yea, the way the aikido guys take falls is very similar to lucha libre or japanese pro wrestlers when they do quick takedown spots. it's an art

  • this is bull shit! Who the fuck is going to stand there and let you do this shit. At least post a video of two opponents going at it, not being a throw dummy! I want my 55 seconds back!

  • just shoot a double leg and then ground and pound, not that hard really this is lame coreograhped bullshit.

  • I hate fake ass titles it realy does a diss justice to the arts...

  • so fake!!

  • lol fake video. never happens in real life.

  • @maciejwrotek Of course it never happens in real life...

If you come across a man with 2 or 3 dan in aikido and you get grabbed like in the video (if you dont fall and make it look fake) your arm will break, or you will be in much of pain...

I do not compare aikido to anything else, or say that aikido is great etc.

I do not care if it is good martial art or not...

I say that if you do not fall it hurts much...

  • Secrets of Aikido revealed:

    watch?v=h_vvI26NnwE

  • my eggs parece um doido esse ai do jiu jitsu

  • NObody just lets you throw them this is pure demonstration reason one needs KUNG FU combined with JUI JITSU or your facing real life attacks...not this Holley wood BS

  • @deltaalpha21074 if you dont let yourself go... youll have a broken wrist, arm or shoulder....

  • @jetttomaing ok this guy just keeps running to the so called instructor what if he fakes him out and grabs his ankles really quick and slams the skinny master to the ground or jumps up and leg locks his waste flipping the instructor to the ground???

this is more fake than a Hollywood movie

  • big time fake...I mean, this can't be serious!!! OK, there's the technique, but that doesn't work!! And that is not a Jiu-Jitsu fighter...

  • yes, and clearly everybody attacks by running up to you with their arm out ready to passively let you throw them over and over again! Aikido knows exactly how real fights work! Man, next time a mugger comes at me passively with his arm extended I will know what to do! Aikido rocks!

  • estos tipos de aikido son unos chantas

  • Amazing! Amazing Bullshit...

  • now i'm totally safe from a running guy with his hand lol

  • I dont mind people showing Aikido demonstrations, its a great art....But why the F^##K do you feel the need to write "Aikido vs Jiu Jitsu"???

It is an embarasment to you,to Aikido and to everybody here thinking that the other guy is even fighting...

Just write Aikido demonstration for fucks sake!!!!!!!

  • well i think aikido is only to defend yourself from muggers and thieves not trained fighters....

  • While that man's display of aikido was impressive, look at the way te other guy ran at him. No EXPERIENCED grappler would EVER do that. He pretty much did exactly what the aikido user wanted him to do.

  • Aikido is so fantasious! wow man look at the miunte 0:41

  • aikido is un beatable

  • @d4rkmag3rz Yeah, and that is why they get beat down in MMA

  • every single post on this page was an argument. wow. To person who posted thank-u, its was great.

  • that's not aikido vs jiu jistsu that's just a demonstration

  • Aikido sux, BJJ rules.

  • ratings speak louder than thumbs down.

  • LOL How FAKE is this! Look how much of a fight the bjj guy is putting up!! LOL

  • just stupid

  • Aikido pwns bjj

  • actually there is a real fight between gracie and aikido, hapkido, kungfu masters, and they were all beaten by Gracie! look for it here in youtube... you'll see that BJJ RULES!

  • @srilan07 there is no such thing is kung fu kung fu means skill learned and can attribute to anything that requares practice where in what people call kung fu is wushu and there are thousands of forms of wushu including grappling such as chinese fast wrestling (chin-na)

  • @actionmanrandell KUNG FU = Any of various Chinese martial arts, especially those forms in which sharp blows and kicks are applied to pressure points on the body of an opponent.

  • @srilan07 that's why i said kung fu masters because they are

masters of their own forms which is kung fu and kung fu is some form of arts which they call the wushu... you understand now? you call it wushu in chinese.. dumbass...

  • @srilan07 kung fu is actually pronounces Gung Fu .The Chinese literal equivalent of "Chinese martial art" would be zhongguo wushu and in reality kung fu has nothing to do with martial arts kung fu is simply something that requares skill

  • @srilan07 there are many styles of martial arts we call kung fu ie tai chi which actually would be called tai chi chuan

  • @actionmanrandell

gracie has already proven it in practical

application that he can beat aikido and other form

of martial arts... dude you can strike someone

but you gotta consider in sports martial arts

you cant hit someone directly in the groin or any

prohibited parts in the body that's why BJJ rules, but

in the streets, there's no telling if BJJ rules everything, also if there is no such thing as kung fu, why chinese call it kung fu? is common sense not so common anymore?????

  • @srilan07 the chinese do not call it kung fu kung fu means skill from effort and and can be labeled dirrectly to anything that takes skill the chinese actually call martial arts wushu the only styles of combat they call kung fu are those attributed to the shaolin monastary and thats because much of the world does

  • @srilan07 and no the gracies didnt prove that bjj works agains every system they just showed how good they are at it so everyone else blindly fallowed them bjj is actually the brazilian form of kodakan judo and it focuses mostly on submission where in judo focuses on takedowns judo has been proven to be more street effective because its stuped to go to the ground when your surrounded by alot of people

  • this is the most homo vid ever. i would punch that zip head dead in his gook ass jaw. aikido is cool in theory and in books. thats it. in real life outside of the dojo u run into kobra kai and get embarassed

  • hahahahahah kobra kai.90 percent women do aikido in japan

  • hahaha, what a fake POS video this is, @ :42 they aikido dude barely touches the other guy's finger and somehow he flips around as if a great force was applied, the other guy is not even a jiu jitsu practitioner he is a stooge, what a sad dumb fuck

  • This is a joke.

  • ive seen the real thing quite by accident. the guy who won i found out knew aikido and fucked up the guy who apparently knew jiu jistsu.

  • no you never if you did you where miss informed

  • in hindsight youre prob right

  • that form look very artsy. i wouldnt try that shit on the street. if you believe that the average guy is gonna know how to fall and flip himself, you're in for a rude awakening. most people will latch on to you and try to take you with them if you try and throw them. There are some pretty effective jujitsu system out there that are much more effective.

  • i like how he bends over and does some 3 stuges shit and the jiujitsu guy trained black belt doesent just take the back and roll him over to mount like really now

  • OK Master.....I am going to run towards you with my hand extended at waist level and in a perfect position for you to grab it and throw me to the ground....This is not fighting this is a half coreographed ballet.

  • dont believe dat... aikido is a piz o' zhit,,, the genration is new and the martial arts has changed....dats a fuk'n myth

  • Why is this video called Aikido vs jiu jitsu, there is no jiu jitsu in it at all, there is just one uge running around and attacking.

  • que mentirada do caralho

  • Comment removed

  • Aikido always lose to a low kick by muay thai fighters.

  • funny why aikido isnt used in UFC probably becoz it doesnt work against a real trained apponent. BJJ > Aikido

  • What the fuck are you talking about xD? The reason it isn't used is because it is not meant to be offensive, it's ment to end a fight quick, with out harming the attacker. I don't even take aikido and i know that xD, well i did take a free class haha

  • Arent most martial arts used as a self defense? bjj, karate, judo etc there all used in the ufc..apart from aikido.

Bottom line it sux ,and the only way its made to look cool is if a man staggering towards him in a bjj gi keeps get ridiculously slammed by some aikido fag who moves around like hes got a stick up his arse.

  • You got it slightly wrong. Yes,they are used for self defense, but the actual fighting ones with the stupid kicks, like karate, are more fight oriented. Aikido isn't meant for MMA matches,it's meant for ending a real fight quickly,it works haha! My friend is about 200 lbs, and a 300 lb muscular person got in a fight with him. My friend takes aikido, and took the guy down in about 2 seconds and dislocated his arm. Aikido is much more effective in real fights then UFC wrestling, but judo is good too.

  • aikido isnt used in the ufc because small joint manipulation is illegal in their rules. small joints like wrists and fingers. and anyways aikido is self defense it doesnt work if your not attacked so its fuckin stupid to go into the ufc with self defense. dont be an ignorant asshole next time buddy

  • Karate Bjj and Judo are all self defense and there all used.

Face it its just not good eough an art to use effectively, I mean look at the video you have to admit its a very bad example.

  • he pushed him in the neck and he did a flip lmao.

  • yo soy luchador de brazilian jiu jitsu y estoy dispuesto a q cualquier practicante de aikido paractique sus tecnicas conmigo... este video es solo una demostracion de un sensei con su alumno , saludos

  • this was so stupid

    1. that guy was like a Aikido student

    2. and it was almost fake,

    look at 0:42 - 0:44,

the Aikido guy doesn't do anything, and the "jiu jitsu" guy flips to the right with his left hand on the air, so fake.

  • yeah i agree... probably rehearsed!!

  • yeah the guy held his hand out out for the aikido instructor to grab it... GAY and it wasnt a jiu-jitsu guy

  • What a load of crap! I'm returning all my Steven Segal videos! Damn.

  • this is not aikido vs ju jitsu, or jui jitsu (both spellings accepted). It is a demo...

  • What a joke!!!!!!! Is this WWF?

  • demonstation...i know a black belt would not just run at a person like a dumb ass

  • i would like to see what would happen in a real fight im not big on these fake demonstrations

  • it looks more like an aikido DEMONSTRATION.

  • No kiddin. There was no jiu jitsu in this demo whatsoever.

  • BUILDING 7

  • Its nice when someone lets you throw them

  • Yeah, tell me about it!

  • man i need to learn some aikido

  • I'm sorry but I take both Aikido and BJJ and this demo is a major joke, if you want to show what you can really do have the Uke actually try to punch you in the face and not that punch once and leave your damn hand out business, try to take him down like you were in a real fight. The Uke is simply running at the guy with his hands out. I get the pureness and "don't your opponent" aspect of Aikido but when push comes to shove that doesn't hold in a real world fight.

  • where the fuck is the jitsu,, fuckin joke.. im a blue belt and garrens ill tap that old tai chi man

  • its not even jiu jitsu its just a lame arse aikido demo with the sensei (skirt) and a student in a normal gi.

  • it's a little demonstration...no real!

  • eso no es aikido vs jiu jitsu eso es aikido vs un actor.

  • Ohh.. come on!! to all you people... you DO know this is a demostration? right?

  • But I have to say, this video is soooo annoying. I've never seen such a lie.

Even trying to explain how it's so fake is a waste of time. Like those people that say Tai Chi is the Ultimate form of fight, until they're in the ground and have no where to go.

  • *SIGH* Anyone who's been involved in a real fight knows that the opponent doesn't do what you expect him to do.

Martial arts were made to teach the weak how to overcome the strong, not for show.

And for those BJJ fighters out there, not because you win a fight, it means you'll always win because your style is better. Even a good boxer can beat the stuffing out of a BJJ fighter. It all depends on the expertise of the fighter. No style is superior, only the practicioner.

  • Well said! Finally, an open-minded person.

  • so according to this video. brazilian ju jitsu is attacking with your right arm out, and your left arm down. what a crock.

  • this must be a joke, and frontlinefever i agree with you but this isnt even a bjj cuz a bjj guy would have not only taken that guy down but would have had him in a submission within secconds.

  • an aikido guy?

    bullshit he would have

  • The problem with every style of Japanese ju jitsu (Aikido coming from Daito-ryu) is that they are all practiced assuming the attacker has no brain. The techniques work on people who make huge mistakes. Every martial art is a response to the situation the founders think a person will encounter in a fight. Most of the traditional martial arts define the scope of attack too narrowly. That's why MMA has become so popular.

  • BJJ seemed to do fairly well, and still does very well, in MMA competitions (Demian Maia, for example, is solely a BJJ fighter and has a track record of 10-0). Judo, and Jujutsu fair similarly. Otherwise, I completely agree with you entirely, most traditional MAs appear to treat the scope of attack to narrowly.

  • Yes Aaron I agree, get Gracie and Seagul together for a match and I know bjj would come out the victor. Beside the jj guy in this vid obviously doesn't now what he's doing, should've taken that ol'man to the floor first thing.

  • must have been scripted- a real jj guy would have taken him down within seconds

  • Kenpoj81, you sound like a true martial artist so I have to ask you. Can really say that Aikido training is as effective for self defence as Jiu Jitsu. If you had your exerience wipe clean and spend 1 year in either style - which one would make you more capable of defending yourself on the street?

  • Aikido is not a fast style to learn. So in that time frame i say JJ. But take a master in each style, and I pick aikido. the BJJ practitioner would have to make contact and take the aikidoka's ballance. Thats no easy to do. So in the short run BJJ is great for self defence. But over the long haul. I take aikido.

  • I wish an aikido shodan would just go to a Bjj class and video tape him taking two or three Bjj guys apart. Watching them all try and shoot a takedown and fall on their faces when the aikidoka is not standing there anymore. Or attempt to do a hug takedown and have irimi nage applied.

  • I wish that would happen too, but it won't because just Aikido would never work against a BJJ student. I'm a BJJ blue belt and I'd put money on it!!! Now I'm sure there are certain aspects of Aikido that are ok, but to just train in this garbage is a mistake.

  • easier said then done

  • I wouldn't even call this randori, it's a joke, the giver's technique is lacking, and this by no means should be considered a vs. video. This is a typical set up demo, real aikido randori, is when seagals students are getting choked out on their blackbelt test, and they fail. This is neither brazilian or classical jujitsu being utilized, if it was, this old man would be knocked out, bleeding beyond belief, dead, or already asleep from the choke out.

  • thats where u are wrong bjj isnt that advanced and orignal jui jitsu is alot more advanced then bjj but aikido is proven to be alot more effective in actual combat in aikido we actually learn to combat multiple opponents i have trained in bjj aswell as orignal and i know for a fact aikido is better

  • 1st, I credited Aiki it has its ups and downs as does any art. I do not agree with you or anyone saying one art is better than another, that is entirely dependant on the pratcitioner, and his or her dedication. You say you know aikido is better, your mind is closed. I seperate no art from another, I simply recognize the weaknesses in each, including my own of Shorinji Tae Gar Kenpo Jujutsu, and seel to improve both myself and practicality of the system. Respect and Honor, From KJ81.

  • i hate how fake these aikido demonstrations are

  • same here, this is what makes a ma style junk...their fake demos. if they actually showed it in reality..it would attract more ppl...and i bet that old man thinks hes all that

  • I completely agree with you, the old man thinks he's all that, look at his craptastic technique where he bounces everytime he throws the uke, and the part where he misses the move and barely touches his arm with a chop at 41-44 secs, but some how magically throws him, yeah this is crap beyond words.

  • God wanted this to Aikido fighter taking a Jiu Jitsu fighter of a decent fighter in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guy ai

  • hola

  • this video is lame even the audience think its lame

  • Once again, aikido cannot produce a real competition quality practitioner.

  • It's Randori.

    BS set-up as usual.

  • That was a tough job interview, the poor guy never got past the opening handshake!

  • hes not even resisting thats not jiu jitsu who puts there hand out like that and runs forward

  • thats fucking trash. hes not even fighting back

  • aikido vs jiu jistsu? ...... LOL

    i learn both....

  • it sucks

  • Here Aikido master, have my arm and wrist so you can throw me. I'll just follow and jump over you as you dance around me...lmao.

  • this video sucks ass. The tittle is "aikido vs jiu jistsu". No one in Jitsu trains to run into the throw or wrist joint lock. I mean, in the dojo, people train with some type of realism. This buffoonery gives Aikido a bad name. Plus there are absolutely no Jitsu attacks where you run into your opponent without some kind of guard. That was no Jitsu, that was BS.

  • Isto é Simulação

  • Sorry to hear that.
