Question: I have attended many masjids where after most Salah especially jumu'ah the Imam will lead in dua. After every statement the group says ameen, this is repeated numerous times. I have been a practicing muslim for 11 years and I never saw this until I attended some Pakistani Masjids. Is this from the religion or is this a cultural thing that they do, like raising the hand to the heart when giving salams. If you agree it is sunnah than provide proof on it. Please answer. Salamu alaikum

What would a muslim father do if his 16 year old daughter turned out to be a lesbian and was interested in learning some other religion?
What do you think of Christians and Jews?
What will happen to me after death, I believe in premarital sex and Polytheism?
What do muslims think of Pegan religions which are older and were created by whole societies, not just 1 or even 20 "prophets" whose words you just gotta trust?
Muslims strictly believe in one God, and that there is no equal of God. The Quran clearly states not to make fun of or bash other religions.
Islam, like alot of other religions, does not believe in Homosexuality. However, they would do their best to support their daughter.

lol for muslims to critices him means that you must have memeroised all the quran and studied for 10 years at medina at fiqh and hadith and currently studying. wow you must really have a authority to critice this sheik LOL
i'm definately against "bid'ah" in religion...however i think we should not revolve around small details determining the wrongs of people who "read quran collectively", or "read dua'a together" or whatever... i wasn't really convinced when he mentioned the part about the water and all that. i mean even if it's true.. on what bases does he relate what those people do through good intentions as something that is wrong. afterall.Deeds are judged by intentions" (Ennama ala'malu belniyat)..
The problem is not "getting together and reading quran", the problem is when it becomes established in a certain day, certain time, certain place, because so and so died and people associate reading quran with those events. you go to some muslim countries, and if you read quran in front of your house, people will think that someone died.
@archihana good intentions when you don't know.. but after you know that the prophet pbuh and sahaba didnt do it then why continuing to do the innovation? and remember a bid3a starts small and can get bigger and bigger.. thats how the first chirk (idolatry) started.. from good intention of using stones to remember some good people that died..later on the stones becames objects of worship..
@archihana "Deeds are judged by intentions" (Enama a'malu beniyat)
That's 1 of the 2 Prophetic Statements on which the religion of Islam stands, the early scholars said.
Islam revolves around 2 main/major statements of the Prophet Muhammad, (a) -- a statement related to the inner aspect of the deeds -- "Deeds are judged based on their intentions"
(b) -- a statement which relates to the outer aspect of the deed -- "Whoever does a deed, that we have not sanctioned, will have it rejected"
1 of the scholars commented on the verse [67:2]: "So that Allah may test u as to which of you is BEST in deeds." This means "The most sincere & most correct". The people asked: "How does it become sincere & correct?" He said: If an action is done sincerely but not correctly, it won't be accepted & if its done correctly but not sincerely, it won't be accepted; until it's done sincerely & correctly. The sincerity is: it's for Allah's Pleasure alone & the correctness is: it conforms to the Sunnah.
It is Prohibited to imitate the Kuffar, and that includes in clothing. The Prophet (SAW) loved the purity of the Culture of the Desert Bedouins, so in clothing, either what the Prophet (SAW) wore, or Bedouin dress, Ghutrah/Shmagh and Thobe, or Salwar Kameez, or a Kufi as some Sahaba wore. Shaving beard is Haram.
As for technology and modernity, the world should be kept as close to the Time of the Prophet (SAW) as possible.
If you're against technology, then why the hek are you surfing on the non-muslim invented computer? why don't take a feather, use ink, & right it on a paper?
Shaving beard is haraam? Really, if you say that to one of the unshaved princesses or beardless Kings of K.S.A, they'll probably get your head ripped off in public.
Islam is a religion, not a culture. It's pretty much a racialist pan-arab thinking that wrapping a red kuffyah on your head & wearing tob makes you a good muslim.
I never said I was COMPLETELY AGAINST technology!!! Cars and computers are good, if used for the right reasons. Haramthings are just so easily accessed on the internet, especially by today's youth. There are things like pornography and gangster rap that young Muslims today watch. Even in Saudi Arabia, unfortunately. I have noticed many non-Arab Muslims are very anti-Arab, whether they admit it or not. I never said wearing a Kuffiyah makes me a better Muslim!
Well, I'm part arab myself, but I look at the good things of the Arab culture as well as every other culture.
Just like the Germans look at good things from their culture such as cars like BMW & Mercedes, not racist ideologies like honouring Nazis & becoming racist skinheads.
The racist-arab-supremacy ideology is a pre-islamic one, which was abolished by our anti-racist Prophet Muhammad(PBUH), & at that time Muslims were one Ummah regardless of race & nationality.
I'm Muslim myself, why would I attack Islam, you idiot. I'm attacking racist-pan-arabism which is against Islam, you idiot. Our prophet(PBUH) was against any kind of tribalism, racism, & nationalism, and that is what I was talking about. Pay attention Jaahill!
ultrades.. bro,, one hand u say u r muslim,, on other hand,,, u using language and manners breaking the boundries ,,, i hope u won't do it again,, as a muslim's hands and speech should be used for the benefit of other muslim,
dude its the ppl not the religion hello... isnt it common sense...? and wats so retarded huh? hello, do you even noe that the basics that the GOD n the Prophet s.a.w. had thought us has remained the same? Its just that ppl change add xtra bits bla3.. but the core important factors still remain...
wait by saying 'something like religion ' do even have something against ANY relegion?
Imam Ahmad relates from Anas (Allah be well pleased with him), with a chain of transmission all of whose narrators are those of Bukhari except Hammad ibn Salama, who is one of the narrators of Muslim, that the Ethiopians danced in front of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace); dancing and saying, "Muhammad is a righteous servant." (Musnad al-Imam Ahmad. 6 vols. Cairo 1313/1895. Reprint. Beirut: Dar Sadir 3.152
But where is the evidence that dancing by the Ethiopians here was done as an act of worship? They only did it as part of their culture. Doing something in front of the Prophet does not automatically make it an act of worship.
And if it is worship like you said, then why don't you condone it regardless?
They're dancing was done as an act of praising the Prophet(SAWS), and he did not cease them from doing us, if it were a reprehensible act then surely he (SAWS) would have told them to stop, therefore it could be argued that it could also be used as an act of worship, (although as you stated the opposite could be argued). The reason why I do not condone it myself is because the Prophet (SAWS) himself never used to dance as an act of worship and there is a lot of debate about its permissability.
I just stated this Hadith to show that the people who do such actions have evidence for it, and you can debate about its legality. Again Allah hu'Alim.
I agree they were praising the Prophet. But Hassaan bin Thabit said poetry in the Prophet's praise as well. Surely this doesn't mean that poetry is an act of worship too!
The Prophet didn't cease them (dancing and poetry) because they are not acts of worship per se. He left them as normal acts, like providing comfort, drink etc. to the Prophet are good acts insofar as they demonstate one's love for him, not that these acts themselves are acts of worship, unlike formalised Sufi dances.
And dance/poetry in general would have been permissible even if the Ethiopians/Hassaan did not do it in front of the Prophet, because they are not religious acts. And I also don't know why you stated this Hadith on general dance when Yasir Qadi was referring to specific dancing done as Zikr or worship by some Sufis. Clearly somebody would be misled by listening to Yasir Qadi then reading the Hadith you quoted.
I do not intend to further these discussions. Peace
20-21st minute he talks about Khatem-ul-Qur'an for the deceased, and mentions the early scholars and the four great Imams did not practice this tradition.
Not true, in Imam Nawawi's Riyadh-as-Saliheen it is mentioned in chapter 7, section 18, point 947: "Imam Shafi'i (RA) said that it is better to recite Qur'an near the grave. It would still be better if all join in completing the recitation of the Holy Qur'an". NB-This point has been omitted from the Darusalaam (A Salafi publisher's) version.
I don't know what Darussalam did, and if they did it then it is wrong.
But consider what Ibn Kathir said in his Tafsir, surah al-najm under the verse "and nothing is for man apart from what he strived for": and it is from this verse that Imam Shafii and his followers concluded that the reward of praying Quran does not reach the dead... which is why the Prophet did not encourage it to his people... nor the Companions. (ibn kathir)
So where exactly did Shafii say what Nawawi attributed to him?
I don't know where Imam Nawawi obtained his evidence for what he stated in his book. He was a renowned Shafi'i scholar of his time and is still respected today. I can only tell you what I have read, I am not a student of knowledge. Allah hu'Alim.
I'm trying to put you down or anything. But you negated what Yasir Qadi said by saying 'Not true', and then backed it up by Imam Nawawi's book and talked about darussalam. It proves you have an understanding of scholars' works. So you might at least want to ask your local scholar about where Imam Shafii said what Imam Nawawi said.
But until you prove this quote, you might also want to affirm Ibn Kathir's status as a prolific Shafii scholar, and you should also know what Tafsir Ibn Kathir says.
The reason why I stated 'not true' specifically to what Yasir Qadhi said, is because he mentioned Imam Shafi'i by name, as in his followers did not do Khatem'ul'Quran for him, and what automatically came to my head was what Imam Nawawi stated in his book regarding Imam Shafi'i regarding this practice. Unfortunately I don't live in an area where I can ask a reputable scholar about such things.
What you stated about Ibn Kathir's tafsir is probably correct, and I respect him as a great scholar of his time. Though I have yet to read his works including his Tafsir. Allah hu'Alim.
Bro. "AbdulHakam" I would just say that I felt no problem with his opinions. I dont know how you still believe that "This guy is sooo wrong..." May Allah guide me, if I am wrong, and May Allah guide you, if you are wrong. We should learn to tolerate eachother.Wasalam.
alhamdulillah. thank you for this video. it is interesting as well as informative. even if we know all this, it is good to hear it being broken down and discussed in such a way.

The racist-arab-supremacy ideology is a pre-islamic one, which was abolished by our anti-racist Prophet Muhammad(PBUH), & at that time Muslims were one Ummah regardless of race & nationality.

Keep your idiotic comments to yourself. Better yet go join the Christian hate groups who's idea of piety is attacking Islam.
Eye0fTheStorm 3 years ago
I'm Muslim myself, why would I attack Islam, you idiot. I'm attacking racist-pan-arabism which is against Islam, you idiot. Our prophet(PBUH) was against any kind of tribalism, racism, & nationalism, and that is what I was talking about. Pay attention Jaahill!

The explanation around 3:30 is why Islam will dwindle and die in a few generations. Its arrogance is that the religion is "PERFECT". LOL
How can something like religion be static when PEOPLE CHANGE! Keep your retarded way of thinking like people did thousands of years ago.
rasalghul5555 3 years ago
so if the people change, the religon changes too?
muslim4life12 3 years ago 4
dude its the ppl not the religion hello... isnt it common sense...? and wats so retarded huh? hello, do you even noe that the basics that the GOD n the Prophet s.a.w. had thought us has remained the same?

Evidence for dancing as worship (Thought I do not personally condone it myself, just providing the evidence used for it)
m2k41 3 years ago
But where is the evidence that dancing by the Ethiopians here was done as an act of worship? They only did it as part of their culture. Doing something in front of the Prophet does not automatically make it an act of worship.
And if it is worship like you said, then why don't you condone it regardless?
MadinahStudent 3 years ago
They're dancing was done as an act of praising the Prophet(SAWS), and he did not cease them from doing us, if it were a reprehensible act then surely he (SAWS) would have told them to stop, therefore it could be argued that it could also be used as an act of worship, (although as you stated the opposite could be argued). The reason why I do not condone it myself is because the Prophet (SAWS) himself never used to dance as an act of worship and there is a lot of debate about its permissability.
m2k41 3 years ago
I just stated this Hadith to show that the people who do such actions have evidence for it, and you can debate about its legality. Again Allah hu'Alim.
m2k41 3 years ago
I agree they were praising the Prophet. But Hassaan bin Thabit said poetry in the Prophet's praise as well. Surely this doesn't mean that poetry is an act of worship too!
The Prophet didn't cease them (dancing and poetry) because they are not acts of worship per se. He left them as normal acts, like providing comfort, drink etc. to the Prophet are good acts insofar as they demonstate one's love for him, not that these acts themselves are acts of worship, unlike formalised Sufi dances.
MadinahStudent 3 years ago

NB-This point has been omitted from the Darusalaam (A Salafi publisher's) version.
m2k41 3 years ago
I don't know what Darussalam did, and if they did it then it is wrong.
But consider what Ibn Kathir said in his Tafsir, surah al-najm under the verse "and nothing is for man apart from what he strived for": and it is from this verse that Imam Shafii and his followers concluded that the reward of praying Quran does not reach the dead... which is why the Prophet did not encourage it to his people... nor the Companions. (ibn kathir)
So where exactly did Shafii say what Nawawi attributed to him?
MadinahStudent 3 years ago
I don't know where Imam Nawawi obtained his evidence for what he stated in his book. He was a renowned Shafi'i scholar of his time and is still respected today. I can only tell you what I have read, I am not a student of knowledge. Allah hu'Alim.
m2k41 3 years ago
I'm trying to put you down or anything. But you negated what Yasir Qadi said by saying 'Not true', and then backed it up by Imam Nawawi's book and talked about darussalam. It proves you have an understanding of scholars' works. So you might at least want to ask your local scholar about where Imam Shafii said what Imam Nawawi said.
But until you prove this quote, you might also want to affirm Ibn Kathir's status as a prolific Shafii scholar, and you should also know what Tafsir Ibn Kathir says.
MadinahStudent 3 years ago
The reason why I stated 'not true' specifically to what Yasir Qadhi said, is because he mentioned Imam Shafi'i by name, as in his followers did not do Khatem'ul'Quran for him, and what automatically came to my head was what Imam Nawawi stated in his book regarding Imam Shafi'i regarding this practice. Unfortunately I don't live in an area where I can ask a reputable scholar about such things.
m2k41 3 years ago
What you stated about Ibn Kathir's tafsir is probably correct, and I respect him as a great scholar of his time. Though I have yet to read his works including his Tafsir. Allah hu'Alim.
