they've had fights as a couple over other guys/girls, when they broke up.. but it was over stuff like that every time. in season 1 they ran in different circles, so it wasn't considered a 'fight'. and when they broke up it usually wasn't because of an arguement, and when it was, it was over the usual teenage stuff. this was their first fight that only involved them, and their first fight where he yelled, and got pissed, and since they've been married.

Every husband wants to be the provider. Topanga wasn't trying to brag about her success; she was just excited about everything, but it came across the wrong way. They're still maturing, and they're doing it together. They have to go through this stuff because that's what makes them stronger together, you know?

In my opinion, it was Topanga's fault. She always was better at everything tthat they did together. I mean, look at it from Cory's perspective. Cory dreamed of beciming a baseball player when he was a kid, topanga a queen. Topagana always got the A Cory got other grades, not As. Topagana proposed. Topanga got the Yale acceptance, but didn't go. Cory got into Penbrook. And then there's this episode. Cory in mu opinion showed great strength in this episode because he did feel horrible.
@googleboy314 I think they are supposed to be there. Instead of actually writing a very real and honest argument, the writers simply gave us the highlights. It's probably got to do with time constraints as much as creative shortcomings.

@mjac4ever Eric hands down. I like how he is funny, but at the sametime very wise for his age. He can keep everything light, but when the situation calls for it he can be serious, supportive, and encouraging. He was like that when Cory had the hearing in the "Everybody Loves Stuart" episode.
Your choice is really cool!! It is hard to choose between the three guys because all the guys are great and would make a woman very happy.
if eric wasent stupid in the later years of this show no one would watch it wouldent be funny. cory was the funny when he was young but the show is having him mature and grow up so eric took his place and became the funny hit guy of thew show in the later seasons

I don't understand why people are blaming Topanga. She's right about not just saying "sorry" and forgetting. If she did that, she wouldn't have understood what was really bothering him. It wasn't until he opened up that she understood WHY he was upset. Also, it's not as if she was purposely going out of her way to be better. Should she dumb herself down to make sure he's better? Now that she understood he felt inferior, they can communicate & move on. It's not just about saying "sorry," people!

@oewnaynailf and zegstatis, u guys missed something. after the "santa's little helper" i forget which episode, but they get back together until topanga went through her parent's divorce and that caused angela to remember how her mother left her and she didnt want to hurt shawn the same way and then SHE broke up with him. so yes, shawn would of course keep chasing her bcuz he always did love her and still wanted to be with her

I don't understand why people are blaming Topanga. She's right about not just saying "sorry" and forgetting. If she did that, she wouldn't have understood what was really bothering him. It wasn't until he opened up that she understood WHY he was upset. Also, it's not as if she was purposely going out of her way to be better. Should she dumb herself down to make sure he's better? Now that she understood he felt inferior, they can communicate & move on. It's not just about saying "sorry," people!

Actually, that's an inconsistency that bothers me. It isn't their first fight ever, because they did often have fights before they got married. Just wanted to point that out.

@Elephunktabulous I think they should both apologize, they both said hurtful things that they didn't mean. He probably can't help how he feels, but there is a better way to express it that doesn't always come out in the heat of the moment.

@sneakernight8789 Alright, since I'm still getting replies about this...I understand that she didn't do it intentionally! But like I said, he just got upset. Yes, he overreacted but watch the last clip...he told her to back off to let him cool down so he wouldn't say anything he knew he'd regret. She should have known when to stop. It wasn't that difficult to detect Cory's hurt feelings (or pride, whichever) but Topanga kept on. That's what I'm getting at. Either they both apologize or neither.
