Dude, your an idiot. Phantom Hourglass stars the same link from WW. the whole pirate crew is in it as well, including Zelda. They show the events of WW in the very beginning, who the heck did they come up with this whole different world idea?!

@CLASSIFIED2417 So, yes, TWW Link, Zelda, and pirate crew start out on the world that we are familiar with, the one with Hyrule. But then they encounter that Ghost Ship in the beginning of Phantom Hourglass and Link and Zelda are pulled through a portal into either another reality/dimension, or to another planet. It's definitely a "different world" because Nintendo says so. :D

Zelda 2 zelda was put to sleep 1000 years ago before all other zelda games and the rule was made before even the split, Wind waker is the same world and same link. it happens 2 years after Wind waker. And when did Hyrule itself become a planet.

@GameparkGRS That's contrary to the official timeline. TAoL "Sleeping Zelda" was put to sleep post every current Zelda game but the original, according to Nintendo themselves. And you'll notice that I didn't say that Hyrule was a planet (or if I did, I mispoke) but that "the planet that Hyrule is on" is different from the "World of the Ocean King."

Personally I dont believe in the hyrule historia. Nintendo has said themselves before that they didnt go by a timeline, that they just made games without thinking about it and now they suddenly come out with one?

@LCRUZ93 They actually never said that. For over a decade now Eiji Aonuma has said that there is a timeline document that they adhere to but that it was a secret to everyone.

@greendrago14 At the end of Phantom Hourglass, they return to the regular world Hyrule exists in. There's not reason to believe that Spirit Tracks takes place in the Ocean King's World or any other world besides the regular world.

Different planet? I interpreted it as being in the same planet but different region, after all, Hyrule is the name of a realm and not of a planet, sort off Gondor and Rohan in Lotr.

o.O the phantom hourglass part just bothers me.. phantom hourglass and spirit tracks are the exact secuels from windwaker.. even the creators said it.. so if the world of windwaker is the future world of the past games where hyrule is beneath the ocean 'cause of the spell and everything to seal ganon etc. how is it that phantom hourglass the secuel with the exact same link is in another planet or dimension? o.o it doesn't make any sense x3

@xvash07 Phantom Hourglass starts out with Link and the pirate crew in Hyrule's world. They encounter that ghost ship which somehow pulls Zelda into a portal thing. This takes her to a completely different world ("The Ocean King's World"). Link goes after her. Whether this is another dimension or another planet in the same dimension... it doesn't say. Hyrule Historia just says that it's a completely different world than the one Hyrule is on.

@xBezerkerrr in the end it turns out they were dreaming or something even though it was all very real to them and link even had the phantom hourglass still in his possesion but it taking place on a differnt planet would make sense because of this or more another demention rather than another planet because there were two realitys one where they took there adventure and one where they just passed out for 5 minutes.

A separate world, insofar as Termina is a different world...i.e., it involves a different history and a different set of important figures than does the initial Hyrule, and is not located in the ocean directly over the old Hyrule...but a different planet? That makes no sense. How would that make any sense at all? It seems a bit ignorant to say it happens on a completely different planet...because it wouldn't then be part of the same timeline. At all.

@unorthodoxJ First off, Oshus doesn't fly. Second of all, flying whales do not always mean dreams (Levias was quite real :P). Third of all, Nintendo called it an alternate dimension, making it more like Termina than Koholint Island. :P

@BlanFan2O Easy: Nintendo clearly stated from its release that its an alternate dimension. This was their initial excuse for re-using the Ocarina of Time models. Also, Termina doesn't appear on the Z2 map...as it would if it was a neighbour.

This would also have to be to explain why Hyrule didn't witness a giant falling moon, and why it would still exist after moonfall. There are also a lot more subtle details, which I won't discuss, but the biggest reason is because Nintendo said so :P

I honestly think Hyrule Historia was only created to please fans. I think every Zelda game is a separate legend. Nintendo once confirmed that a timeline did not exist and the games were designed as unique and separate stories. Also Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Mijamoto also said that Zelda games aren't designed with the story in mind. First they think of a unique gameplay style and then create a story to fit that gameplay. I really hope Nintendo doesn't sell out. It will surely limit their creativity

@Denidragon At no point did Nintendo confirm that there was no Zelda timeline. In fact, they've been confirming that there was such a timeline for a decade now. I'm afraid you're mistaken, my friend. But as to your other point: yes, the games are created with gameplay first and then story is added. This doesn't mean we can disregard the stories, however, nor the official timeline.

I've always liked the idea that the evil wizard and the one that appears when dark link was released was a form of Ahganim. It may not fit officially but this has been in my mind since wayyyy back when I originally played the game.
