  • Thanks for the video, man. Hey, how hard is it to overlay this GUI-style on Linux Mint? Mint looks good, but this looks fantastic.

  • @qtutoringhelps I believe that there is a KDE version of Linux Mint, the default theme isn't very attractive though, you would probably want to change the appearance. :)

  • LiveCD inside the Virtualbox :D Why don't you install (at least to Vb)?

Ctrl + Alt + F1 to F6 is standard thing in every distro.

But nice one. openSUSE was my first distro, liked it very much.

  • @EmanresuDesrever I usually install the OS if the installer has been updated in any way, an install doesn't matter too much when I am mainly talking about the appearance and default applications. Alright, I have only ever tried it in openSUSE, that is good to know. openSUSE is a very stable distribution, with a good implementation of KDE.

  • Installing nVidea drivers (1 click install, install went without a hitch) destroyed Xorg upon restarting and left me with no GUI. I wanted to like openSUSE but it's so unstable and breaks way too easily. Agreed that it's the prettiest implementation of KDE, but when it destroys itself when you're trying to do something that can be easily achieved in Ubuntu/Kubuntu, there's really no competition.

  • As one of the "Technically Challenged" am very happy with Yast as the updates manager.... now that know a little more - though still class myself one of the "technically challenged" am learning how to do similar with zypper.

  • Suse is okay, but i really didn't enjoy using Yast. It is probably my least favorite Package manager (of any distribution), which is why i dont use it. Debian does a decent job at packaging. (which is why it was probably chosen for Ubuntu) But if your a power user, Archlinux seems to provide the best tools. between using pacman, and using PKGBUILD, yaourt, etc... Arch provides a much more stable, up-to-date, optimized system than Suse, Fedora, Ubuntu, etc.

  • yes mate I like gnome as compare to KDE...hy wht linux distribution do u use and why...i use ubuntu and linux mint....

  • @kohatian1748 Gnome and KDE are pretty much the same in every distribution, though I might make a comparison video when I get the time. I use Linux Mint 10, openSUSE 11.4 and Ubuntu 10.04 in my spare time.

  • hi mate...thanx for your review...i hope to see a gnome version of opensuse...thanx again

  • @kohatian1748 Thanks for watching and subscribing! There is already a Gnome version of openSUSE, do you prefer Gnome over KDE? I will make a Gnome video on openSUSE if you like? :)
