I bought that Allman Brothers video for my dad some years ago and he plays that hotel room scene over and over, totally worshiping that song (as well as the guitar jam with Betts and the other dude). We felt that only Dickey could do that song - O.K., he's the only guy we've ever heard doing that song! - but your version is pretty KICK-ASS!!
