I find this trigger trend a paradox: Its needed but its also somehow disqualifies you as a drummer since you're using a tool to directly supply something you otherwise would've never been able to do, which is to playing fast double bass drumming with clarity, where every note is perfectly audible. These metal guys use so many triggers its a bit embarrassing. It kinda of crosses the line of the "better gear generates playing benefits" tantrum into the downright cheating zone.

He's just wearing regular sporty shoes, nothing special. And the maxed out tension is pretty popular amongst death metal drummers for the responsive feel of the pedal. The faster the beater comes back, the faster you can hit another stroke!
He uses the swivel technique. Not sure how that relates to the molar technique, haven't taken much time to look at the molar but yeah he uses the swivel.
I know its a hand technique. But many double bass drummers said thats what they used. It's the same technique as hand. Perhaps they just don't know what its truly called.
Dam he's good... I'm finally starting to get my feet to do what I wan't and Iäm up in maybe 150 now. You can go fast on any pedals if you adjust them right...I like Axis Longboards and those new Pearl Demon Drives. Just head over to a local drum shop or music store and try some out.

Obviously u need to develop stamina and muscle to play for a long period of time, but its also technique that helps alot. Better technique will help u play longer faster and use less energy.
NEVER PLAY when u start feeling pain on your hands or feet u will end up with tendonitis(sundrome that effects the nerves and tenodes ony our body) wich will cause u 2 quit playing the drums for months or years even! As much intense the music gets the more relaxed try 2 play take it as a rule.Enjoy your playing!
@ 2ra0bid9, really if you want to do this type of drumming, you almost need to incorporate a separate fitness program just to build your muscle strength and your muscle / cardiovascular stamina. This is demanding shit.

My burst speed is pretty high about 240, but too keep up that kind of speed like George Kollias can do, that's much harder.

Dam he's good... I'm finally starting to get my feet to do what I wan't and Iäm up in maybe 150 now. Not that high, but considering I couldn't go above like 110 at the start of this year I'm pretty satisfied with my progress ^^. Never ever gonna get as fast as this dude though, he's freaking insane.

not trying to argue or anthing just trying to prove a point not b/c joey is my favorite drummer but nonavarium joey might not have the fastest feet put have you ever watched his hands don't get me wrong i love nile and dimmu those bands are great but most of there solo's in there songs are the same constant beat really fast whatch the beats joey plays with his hands thats what sets him apart from other drummers and adriano im a maggot and I dont ride on joey you wont see me saying he's the best!

I don't think hes the best and Slipknot aren't technically the heaviest or metalist or whatever band but i prefer Slipknot to other metal bands.
Also Joey Jordison is above average he isn't the best but you can't deny he has talent plus he isn't just a drummer he knows alot about music also which i bet not all drummers know as much.

not only is he fast but he IS better than joey. I like slipknot and joey. and i dislike geroge kollias' band Nile. but i like george's drumming. He has speed and technique. so does joey, but just watch video's of both of these guys and compare. i'm sure you'll realize george is better. =)

You can go fast on any pedals if you adjust them right...I like Axis Longboards and those new Pearl Demon Drives. Just head over to a local drum shop or music store and try some out.

Obviously u need to develop stamina and muscle to play for a long period of time, but its also technique that helps alot. Better technique will help u play longer faster and use less energy.

NEVER PLAY when u start feeling pain on your hands or feet u will end up with tendonitis(sundrome that effects the nerves and tenodes ony our body) wich will cause u 2 quit playing the drums for months or years even! As much intense the music gets the more relaxed try 2 play take it as a rule.Enjoy your playing!

@ 2ra0bid9, really if you want to do this type of drumming, you almost need to incorporate a separate fitness program just to build your muscle strength and your muscle / cardiovascular stamina. This is demanding shit.
