Actually, it's unclear if he's dead or not - there was no corpse and later on Rangiku said how he 'disappeared' - not died - without leaving anything behind for her to remember him by. Even his official wiki page states that his fate remains unclear.

I know its a bit off topics but let me get this straight... Rukia is sentenced to execution for going to the world of the living and giving Ichigo shinigami powers. Aizen on the other hand betrays Soul Society, steals the Hogyoku and tries to become super evil master of everything, and is sentenced to prison (albeit for 20000 years) Is there no justice?

He pretended to be them, sending out the orders to capture Rukia and execute her using the Sokyoku (I think that's what it was called...). Besides, with the Hogyoku fused with Aizen, he's immortal; it may not be making him stronger anymore, but it will still prevent him from dying since they are on in the same and the Hogyoku doesn't want to die.

I liked Gin the second he was introduced. He was a great villian; it's what made his plot twist all the more epic.

I'm personally not sure if Gin died or not. I was pretty sure he did but then I looked at Kubo's history with his characters and he has a bad habit of making us think he killed off his characters and then re-introduces them some 50 chapters later. Like Yumichika, Kenpachi, most recently the captain-commander, etc.

Bleach fact: Gins Zanpaktu isn't known for its length, even thought its can only reach 13 kilometers (8.08 miles) Its actually how fast it is released, its 10x faster than a clap. it can extend from any length. As said by Gin himself in later episodes.
