I don't really think you can compare Dave and Santana's guitar playing. They have different styles that are both phenominal in their own rights. Some songs are meant for others to take the lead. This song is on Santana's album and not Dave's therefore it makes sense that Carlos has the lead...duh!!

Absolutely agree. Santana has a style that you can recognize in any song he plays. Even w/o billing you can listen and say, hey, that's Santana playin' on that track. For the person saying that Dave Matthews is a a better guitarist than Santana you are simply crazy and not listening to the music, who is the lead in this clip - it's not Dave, he's tuned way down in the mix and you can barely hear him, He's there for his vocals. No disrespect to Dave Matthews because I do like some of his stuff, mostly early stuff. But Santana is a freakin phenomenal improvosational guitarist, go see him live and you'll understand.

@MattBabs09 they're two different styles of playing, dave is moe focused on taking a unique approach to his rhythm parts, while santana is more of a one man show who speaks through his playing. dave does a lot vocally and also on the guitar, and has never set out to be a 'solo master' by any means. you made great points, and i agree he's there for the vocals.
