All he has to do is shoot over 30% from three and defend like a mad man. If you can do those two things and those two things only you'll always have a team to play for in the league. He has the mindset of a defender, the jumper can be improved, and he's a worker so he will. The Spurs got a great fit.
He's a SF, but he can probably be a PF as well. He can guard SG's, SF's, and PF's, he might even be able to guard the PG a bit, he's a very versatile player that can also bring the ball up the floor and create for others. Coming into the combine he came in at 6'7 with huge arms and hands (in shoes) and 225lbs, since then he said he's gained 15lbs of muscle which would bring him up to 240lbs which would definitely help him guard a lot of PF's.

KL is a poor man's Paul Pierce and he can rebound better. Great job by the Spurs. The cost of Hill was a lot though. It's a shame they didn't trade up sooner.
@thecardcollector96 Sorry to disappoint you, George didn't improve at all this year. He might with 10-15 more minutes depending on if he starts but he can't dribble or pass. Needs to improve his shooting if he wants to be a 2. Can only hit mid range and the corner three at the moment. Solid defender though. Best of luck.

Yeah, he didn't get any playing time because he was injured during their camp so Pop didn't really trust him. He's a pretty darn good player though, he'll start for sure next season imo. I kept on hearing that they were going to work on his shot mechanics during the off season, which includes his low release point (that's the reason he got blocked SOOO much last year), we all saw how good he was when TD was out, he'll make a huge difference next year.

Randolph and Gasol were playing insane not even Ibaka or Perkins could stop him, Splitter is going to be a solid big next season he'll easily put up 12 and 8 next season while setting screens to free up people, scoring on the pick and roll at will, he'll revamp his shot, great boxing out etc. He was REALLY impressive whenever he got playing time towards the end of the season, he does a lot of stuff that won't show up on the stat sheet. Dice is retiring this season...
So the Spurs will probably sign their draft pick Ryan Richards who can shoot the 3 and play like a SG, he's 7'1 250lbs. This trade was a GREAT trade. George Hill was a luxury to have on the team, they didn't really need him. Instead Hill's minutes will go to Neal who is very good as well as Anderson. With Leonard they will finally get a backup SF which they didn't have last year. Leonard has worked on fixing his shot a lot, he can rebound like a BEAST and has a very high motor.
Not only that but he's a very good defender the Spurs haven't had a good defensive SF since Bowen, people have compared him to Shawn Marion, G Wallace, and Luc Richard M'bah a Moute (pretty good player). He fits the Spurs' system perfectly. Not only that but almost every single mock draft had him going in the top 10 (usually the 7-9th pick).
The Spurs lost to Memphis because all their G/F's had to do was post up against our small players and score at will, with Leonard...
And Anderson playing that will no longer happen, Memphis' swing men posted up and rebounded over our small guys at will. The Spurs aren't done making moves yet either, they REALLY want to trade RJ, they could still sign or trade for a decent big man.

MIlwaukee is really interested in this guy. Clippers might want to get him too. I think this guy is underrated. I don't think too many teams realize they could always draft for defense, or at least they should. I think Detroit and Sacramento are thinking that. That's why Detroit might want Biyombo, a big man to help rebuild their defense.
@Grapes428 I'm a Detroit fan and if Valanciunas is there, they'd likely take him. Although I think it would be a mistake. They are also considering Biyombo as you say, but he does have a lot of downsides. But I could see us drafting him as another Ben Wallace type player whom the fans here love. I have Kawhi coming to Detroit though on my mock draft. Draft him and sign and trade Prince-Kaman would make sense. Kawhi would be a nice jack of all trades SF here with young Austin Daye to complement.
I'm from Ohio huge Cleveland fan I wish Cleveland would take Kemba/Kyrie 1st and Kwahi 4th I've been watching NBATV and they have been saying Cleveland is taking Kyrie 1st and Enes Kanter 4th, tbh i think the Cleveland organization would have to be pretty fucking retarted to make those picks b/c theres only like 11 total college games played between the 2, Kanter hasn't played a real game for a year, and Kyrie is totally based off of potential Kyrie might be better in the long run though.
@DwightHowardSup3rman I share your opinion. I wish they would get Williams at 1 and then Walker at 4. But being a Cavs fan, they seem to like the international players. Kanter is slower than most people think and I think he's just another Potapenko, can only score when the defense is bad and has a low basketball IQ. If they get Williams at 1, I bet the 2 or 3 picks would be among Irving, Knight, or Kanter, which leaves Walker. Toronto at 5 really wants him, so my idea could work.

So the Spurs will probably sign their draft pick Ryan Richards who can shoot the 3 and play like a SG, he's 7'1 250lbs. This trade was a GREAT trade. George Hill was a luxury to have on the team, they didn't really need him. Instead Hill's minutes will go to Neal who is very good as well as Anderson. With Leonard they will finally get a backup SF which they didn't have last year. Leonard has worked on fixing his shot a lot, he can rebound like a BEAST and has a very high motor.

Not only that but he's a very good defender the Spurs haven't had a good defensive SF since Bowen, people have compared him to Shawn Marion, G Wallace, and Luc Richard M'bah a Moute (pretty good player). He fits the Spurs' system perfectly. Not only that but almost every single mock draft had him going in the top 10 (usually the 7-9th pick).
The Spurs lost to Memphis because all their G/F's had to do was post up against our small players and score at will, with Leonard...

And Anderson playing that will no longer happen, Memphis' swing men posted up and rebounded over our small guys at will. The Spurs aren't done making moves yet either, they REALLY want to trade RJ, they could still sign or trade for a decent big man.

@chitoz666 So a SF gets 10 rebounds a game therefore the Spurs want him at PF? No. He is a very good rebounder at the SF position. We got him to replace Richard Jefferson.

spurs should've got rid of Richard Jefferson. George Hill is still young & still has time to improve. Jefferson seems TIMID to play for the spurs. DUMB move by the spurs. Cory Joseph is a TERRIBLE pick. I give the spurs a D-

@TheSpursallday McDyess is retiring. Pop also said he doesn't like to play Tiago and Duncan play together because their styles don't work together well. Expect Blair and Duncan to start again with possibly Richards and Splitter coming off of the bench. Hopefully Bonner will never play in a Spurs jersey again.

@TheSpursallday I'm not sure he will, but there is a pretty good chance he'll be in SA or Austin giving his contract and the Spurs need for height. Spurs had a bad pick in the first round I believe. They could've gotten someone more valuable in the first round I believe. He could've fallen far enough for the Spurs to pick him in the 2nd round.

@Grapes428 Tbh i like your pick set up since Kemba is a way better defensive player then Kyrie and played 3 years in college so he has more experience then Kyrie, and i would like to see D Will play the 3 position bc he's 6'8 240-250lbs and wears the number 23 sounds like Lebron to me haha joking, but your pick set up or mine would please me either way not Kyrie and Kanter 2 inexperienced players based off of potential... Although I do see Kyrie having a better career in the long run.

MIlwaukee is really interested in this guy. Clippers might want to get him too. I think this guy is underrated. I don't think too many teams realize they could always draft for defense, or at least they should. I think Detroit and Sacramento are thinking that. That's why Detroit might want Biyombo, a big man to help rebuild their defense.

@Grapes428 I'm a Detroit fan and if Valanciunas is there, they'd likely take him. Although I think it would be a mistake. They are also considering Biyombo as you say, but he does have a lot of downsides. But I could see us drafting him as another Ben Wallace type player whom the fans here love. I have Kawhi coming to Detroit though on my mock draft. Draft him and sign and trade Prince-Kaman would make sense. Kawhi would be a nice jack of all trades SF here with young Austin Daye to complement.

I'm from Ohio huge Cleveland fan I wish Cleveland would take Kemba/Kyrie 1st and Kwahi 4th I've been watching NBATV and they have been saying Cleveland is taking Kyrie 1st and Enes Kanter 4th, tbh i think the Cleveland organization would have to be pretty fucking retarted to make those picks b/c theres only like 11 total college games played between the 2, Kanter hasn't played a real game for a year, and Kyrie is totally based off of potential Kyrie might be better in the long run though.

@DwightHowardSup3rman I share your opinion. I wish they would get Williams at 1 and then Walker at 4. But being a Cavs fan, they seem to like the international players. Kanter is slower than most people think and I think he's just another Potapenko, can only score when the defense is bad and has a low basketball IQ. If they get Williams at 1, I bet the 2 or 3 picks would be among Irving, Knight, or Kanter, which leaves Walker. Toronto at 5 really wants him, so my idea could work.
