I'm so grateful to have met her beautiful music, but then I hear her story and she just give me inspiration. She is a fantastic strong, intelligent and honest woman which is very strange to find on this days. I admire her and she makes me want to learn more about everything!

So Jay Z thinks that Jazz is only good enough as elevator music?....hmmmm. Considering that (in my opinion) Jazz was the greatest thing that American Blacks have ever contributed to the world of music! I wish Blacks would get back to Jazz and playing instruments again: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald,etc.

I also get the impression he would be the first person to admit it's a genre he isn't very familiar with. Considering where he came from, this isn't surprising.

Lastly, Jazz, like most genres, died a natural death. Trane, Braxton et al. pushed it to its limits and beyond. Where else was/is there for it to go?
