My dad's car had a stage 2 clutch, cammed, full exhaust including headers, and a bunch of other stuff.

@glemerica haha grow up bud. i dont understand how you can say the old 5.0's were geared for power, when they didn't have anything to start out with! i believe it was only 210 at the crank? which was around 185ish give or take at the wheels. those old 5.0's could barely get outta their own way. and no, i never owned one. but my dad did and owned it for years. those old pushrod engines are nothing compared to just the 99-04 4.6. not to mention the 05-2010 4.6! you cant win this haha

@glemerica you're saying a 20 year old pushrod V8 that from the factory had 210-225HP.. had the same HP of a 2005-2010 4.6? somehow YOUR car had 300hp stock? hahah you couldn't pay someone to believe that! btw, automatics are great... thats why 80% of professional drag racers use autos. the stock 99-04 4.6 doesn't hvae alot of power, but its wicked easy to be hitting 280 at the wheels from the 235 at the wheels stock. numbers mean everything. you can make a 4.6 way faster than a 5.0 for cheaper

@person3213 Just to let you know cars like the ZR1 and viper ACR still are pushrod V-8 and V-10 plus the standard and automatic have the same power #'s. Also drag racing is stupid unless u run like in the 7 seconds. Road course racing is way better

@glemerica it was a 1991 GT. absolutely spotless, had 56K miles on it when he got rid of it 4 years ago and ran perfectly. he's built hotrods in his spare time since he was 16. over 35 years of experience with cars. i'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. 210 at the crank is perfectly accurate stock for those cars, those are FORD'S numbers! My dad's car had a stage 2 clutch, cammed, full exhaust including headers, and a bunch of other stuff.

i was responding to "ilovedestinee1", comparing the 302 to the gm 305. i know that ford makes 302s, and technically its not even a 5.0, its 4950cc but they named it the 5.0 to differentiate it from the 300 straight 6 ford has. and i also know that a 302 bored .030 over is a 306, and yet you think im a dumbass? but thats ok, i know nothing. i was referring to a thirdgen trans am...not a third gen mustang.
