  • Thanks for posting. I just went to a 8 team round robin and didn't see to many counters to the legs. Thanks for posting.

  • I just showed this leg defense to the mma class i am coaching and all of the jujitsu guys jaws hit the floor

  • @goidosikjj

This was a series of "Moves of the Week" that we did for the local youth program.

  • @Passmar @goidosikjj I have used this leg defense for many years and I believe its the most effective. I have used it at the High School Level and the big 10 division 1 level as well. the only thing that would make it more effective is if he were to drive his body backwards over the hip instead of sitting it under. this would put the rider in a tougher place to recover from, an make it harder for a cross body rider to split you which can happen if you make the opposite hip to light

  • you can do a donkey kick. its easier and much more effective. this move is also good

  • yhat'd never work..lol

  • it does if you do it fast and well

  • i actually know people from the raiders. thats del val collage. r u still with team ra?

  • We shot this a few years ago. I had two sons who with the raiders and I had helped coach. Yes it is Delvals room

  • A good way to get the legs out is back into your legs. but dont get put in a basket

  • I won a state title against an undefeated (32-0) leg rider. 90% of it is catching it comming in controlling the foot before it gets all the way hooked in. Keep your elbows in right off the whistle look for hand control and come out.

  • you can also from that sit position taKE YOUR ELBOW AND DRIVE IT INTO THE INSIDE OF THEIR THIGH AND JUS MAKE IT AS UN COFORTABLE FOR THEM AS POSSIBLE

  • 1.Mule kick then spontaneously hip heist out. 2. Catch inside knee before leg comes.lift over head and back door out. 3. Inside switch and hit your inside hip hard and fast while reaching for far ankle with right hand. If you do decide to sit on your hip like the video YOU MUST "KEEP" YOUR FACE DOWN TOWARDS YOUR BELLY BUTTON SCOOT DOWN & while reaching 4 foot, & then nderhook calf/ankle, lift leg, while trning bak towards yor opponent.

Protecting from X face s a PRIORITY or die fitn on back.

  • thats a bad idea if your not fast enough he drgs you back i like standing up and turning in

  • A good wrestler counters the legs before they get thrown in the first place : P

  • yea agreed if you get a kid thats a beast with legs chances are your not getting them off and your gonna get pounded.

  • wow, there's better escapes i'm sorry, i'm a wrestler myself and i've been doing it for a while and own efew meadal, in a match live, that wouldn't work. but there's better ways to escape :D

  • Yea mule kick the leg and Ganby Roll Them works every time... for me that is

  • it's gramby roll btw, all good except for lift the leg. top guy counter is to take right hand and left leg or vice versa and sit back for NF. otherwise of course there are others, tripod hasn't been said yet

  • wtf, it is granby roll....never mind lol

  • AUCTUALLY THIS IS THE BEST TECHNIQUE OUT PROBABLY AS OF NOW ALL OF YOU PPL WITH ROLLS AND FLIPS THATS ALL GARBAGE MOVES ! IVE HAVE BEEN WRESTLING MY WHOLE LIFE IVE TRAVELED ALL OVER THE STATES FROM PENNSYLVANIA, NEWYORK, OHIO, WV ,HAWAII .... IDK WAT MOVES YOUR TALKIN ABOUT BUT YOU CAN TELL ME AND ILL BET YOUR WRONG . ive probably forgot more about wrestling than you'll ever know and im only sixteen and you know wat i bet ive been wrestling longer 2!

  • those flips are garbage I agree... As an accomplished wrestler though a good overall defense can prevent leg rides entirely I haven't had the legs sucessfully thrown on me since I was about 16.

  • LMAO lil punk

  • sit out and pull the legs

  • this is horrible....the guy on top could just get the picture frame if he dropped on that hip

  • I agree. I've worked this move in practice - live wrestling and I didnt have much success with it. My opponent would just re-adjust his hips and bring my head to the mat. Its not a very good move at all. It could work on lesser experienced leg riders, but not with a guy whos been riding legs for a while.

  • Good defense! Great note to create separation with the hips. Most guys try to muscle it off with their upper bodies alone. The only problem is that a solid leg rider is going to rip a big cross face once he goes to his hip, using the momentum to roll all the way through and out on top in a push up position for some back points. Not always, but guys who know that this is the defense will be prepared for it and hopefully so will be the other guy's nose.

  • That's a great counter against the legs.
