This airline is on bankrupt. How could will buy new fleet airplanes like 260 airbus 320, 200 boeing 737, 46 boeing 787 and I don't know what else. Delta and USAirways are planing to buy this airline. They are reducing flights on everywhere.
@lincolnfly1 The FAA retired all of those airplanes that makes noise, polluting the air and waste gasoline like the 727, 707, DC-8, DC-9, MD-88, L-1011, DC-10, 747-100. That's why you see more A320, 737-700, 800, 757, 767, Embraers.
Lets hope the fleet is kept in better condition than the collection of junk heaps I flew in last year. I am never afraid of flying, after flying AA I couldn't wait to get on the ground.....
@MrStefanbergmann For someone who can't capitalize the first letter of the first word of their sentence, spell the word "too" correctly, spell the word "they're" correctly, or use proper punctuation at the end of their sentence, I wouldn't expect you to actually know the difference between filing for bankruptcy vs. filing for bankruptcy protection. AA is not bankrupt.
@lafayette2285 First of all i do not need to waist my time to spell right, this is youtube kid im not here to prove myself to anyone? If it gives you any sence of accomplishment to show people on the internet you can spell right then you really need to get a life idiot.
@MrStefanbergmann I'm not asking you to prove yourself. It just shows the type of person you are when you don't give a shit about your spelling or grammar. And that type of person is one who doesn't even know what filing for bankruptcy protection means.
Now I get it. American filed chapter 11 in 2011. Why? So they wouldnt have to pay a penny for their new crafts valued at 500 M. Nice. Now can us little guys use the same premise? Can we buy a morgaged house, file for bankruptcy and still keep the house and not expect to pay for it?
I don't see why people rip on American Airlines. I have flown with them my whole life and had one bad experience. They are like every other company they are transforming there company and making it better.
How are they making these orders if they're filing for bankruptcy? I've been keeping up with the talk on Anet and it seems as if they're doing terrible. Looks like Delta is going to have to take over their Miami hub.. (; oh well.. Never did like AA.
"We just ordered billions of dollars worth of new planes and filed bankruptcy so we don't have to pay for them. Bet you wish you could do that...everyday when you have to drive that '93 Yugo to work."
I can't wait to see how they plan to polish the A319's and A321's considering they are composite not metal fuselages. But I really like that they finally got Airbus! I like to look of the A32X series!
@UpAndLeave oh yea? how about i was at jfk in november and the flight was delayed 9 hours because of a mechanic issue. then they get us another plane and that one has a mechanic issue.. then it took them 4 hours to get us a crew.. aa has gone to shit. new planes are cool. but there staff and crews are worthless and need to be re trained.
@sabretoothed69 AA is far from being broke. they filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy becuase the unions cost too much and Chapter 11 breaks the contract for renegotiations
i live in sweden and the aircrafts we have are SAS ( Scandinavian AirlineS )
and theyre all small like 737's and MD-80's but in denmark ( they also has SAS )
they has some nice sh*t the Airbus A340-300. i was like OMG when i saw it i thought they only had the noob stuff but they had A340 now im glad we can travel to USA with SAS.(our own airline)
@RANDOMNESS873 no, i never said anything about the new boeing interior, i was talking about the seats they're usually an inch or more wider than on it's Boeing competitor. I don't believe Airbus has plans for a new interior design; it seems pretty pointless to me because Boeing's spending money on that while they could be putting it into something more important.
@SimHarrison pasenger comfert is not importent ??????? i think i would want to fly on a comfortible airplane ... p.s. most seats, comfort , etc. is chosin by the airline
@RANDOMNESS873 I never said passenger comfort isn't important. Airbus planes which have a similar passenger capacity to Boeing usually have wider fuselages so the airlines can install wider seats, so Airbus is usually more comfortable than Boeing. Also, I highly recommend that you learn to spell.
AA sucks. planes are outdated, delays arent a surprise, prices are insane, non stop routes are getting cut. you guys will never have my business again after dealing with a 11 hour delay at jfk last saturday all because of mechanic issues on one plane, then another then the crews time expired.
@rwny62882 First of all, if you bothered to even watch the video, they are getting rid of the old planes and will have the youngest fleet of all the airlines in the COUNTRY. Plus, the prices are basically the same as Delta and United, so you might wanna rethink some of the things you just said.
It's really nice to AA making changes. I hate to say it, but AA is really late in the game. Airlines such as Delta started their changes...I want to say around 06'/07'. Still, It's nice to see the changes. The USA is one if not the greatest nation on Earth. The USA should also boast a great airline as well. AA should at least be a four star airline like Air France or Lufthansa. Or even a five star airline like Singapore Airlines.
@Lufthansa631 "The USA should also boast a great airline as well. " The USA does boast at least a couple of great airlines, such as Southwest and Delta, and maybe the new United. Unlike Air France, Lufthansa, and Singapore, American is not the "flag carrier" of the US. None of our airlines are government owned or operated.
@Ilovegogosable But the A300 was more like a Boeing than an Airbus! I love the A300, but i don't like the A320. Besides, the A320 doesn't fit with the AA livery...
I Doubt That AA Dont Retire There 757's Cause Everybody Likes The 757 But be Happy That AA Gonna Have More Planes Than Now AA Planes On Order 787,777-300ER,a320 Neo,737ng,737max and I Doubt That AA Order Some 737-900 Even Better
thats still not changing my mind about flying with AA. old flight attendants and horrible service. sorry AA only contiental for me :)even though they are merging with crappy united. maybe then ill give AA another try nah im a star alliance memeber
It doesn't bother me if they fly Airbus, I don't like them but they still make fine aircraft. And the A300 served a glorious 20 years with AA. But I will drive a Buick into a preschool if they dare change their livery.
Why do people have problems with them ordering Airbus aircraft? Imo Airbuses just as good as Boeing, each company has it's upsides and it's downsides, so don't hate because it's "anti-american" or whatever excuses you have.
Please cancel your orders on Airbuses .. stick with american based companies like boeing i hope you havent realized that other then southwest you're the only airline (american internationally based) that uses american jets dont trade up to the crap they call airbus .. cancel those orders and put them into 787 ... please
@Jimmy4manutd7ronaldo come on boeing didnt do anything and if the a320 is going to have a better operating cost than the b737 why wouldnt they buy it. some how if u were a ceo of an airline company. you would understand.
@Jimmy4manutd7ronaldo they should have done that along time ago. thats why united, delta, and us airways are doing way better than american airline. they need to fire that ceo and hire a new 1 with more sense haha

@Ilovegogosable ok i understand ur frustration but every1 knows that shitty united is doing better than american right now. even though im not a fan of both haha
AmericanAirlines interiors are so damm cheap when you compare them to other airlines.... they treat their employees like crap!! So executives can pocket millions!
Just ask any one of their 75000 employees that took huge pay cuts.
@packer9129 I think you're wrong. Because then British, Lufthansa or Air France would be pressured to buy only Airbus. Such actions would only end up hurting Boeing.
Let the two compete – competition makes better aircraft.
@packer9129 ok so in Europe we should not buy any american cars OK sound good. Or we buy from you and you buy from us, that how the global market works and if you don't by are things we not going to buy your things.
TYPE " SHAME ON YOU" AND YOU'LL READ OTHERS HORRIFIC EXPERIENCES WITH THIS 2 BIT AIRLINE. DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE! BAD SERVICE, COLD AND UNCARING AND OLD STEWARDESS'S. DID THE WRONG THING BY MANY, TYPE " SHAME ON YOU" ON YOUR FACEBOOK ACCT.
@mwaet W H A T !!! SOUTHWEST CAN'T DO THAT! AIRBUS IS CHEAP AND CHEAPLY MADE! IDK ANYMORE, IM FLYING ALASKA, to all Airbus lovers, A I R B U S S U C K S!
@TheMPSScissors can't come soon enough. i have to fly on one 4 times in the next two week. i almost expect at least one cancellation due to maintenance.
I won't. Flying out of St. Louis with those old clunkers constantly sucks. They're loud and terribly outdated and dark on the inside. It'll be nice to get some of the 737's with the Sky interior.
@alep85 if your in the front half of the plane, they are not loud at all the the rear engines, the inside is the same as any AA plane just in MD-80 form. I dont know what you mean by dark on the inside
The MD-80's lighting is not near as bright and welcoming as the later 737's. Plus, unless you're an elite, you're not always in the front half of the plane, and it's quite loud as you get closer to the back. The engines on the MD-80 are very outdated. Also, anytime I've flown on one, I get cabin pressure headaches that I never get usually, even on Regional Jets. Again, I won't miss the MD-80 one bit.
@alep85 there not that old, you would be supprised how many older planes there are such as most 757s and 767s, even some of AA 737-800s are old, not as old as the maddog but old, even some A320s are old
@allenspedface32 hey if you work for delta you dont have to worry about airbus A321s' to replace the 757 as delta is primarily a Being customer. Plus delta has the biggest 757 fleet in the world
There isn't a way in hell AA, who has lost $10b in the last decade, will be able to pay for over $30b worth of planes in the next few decades. I would be shocked if they manage to take delivery of more than half of these planes.
I find it highly unlikely AA will actually have the youngest fleet of the big boys in five years, there is no way they are taking into account orders by the other legacy carriers that will absolutely happen in the next year.
@qwerty112311 Financing works wonders... but Delta and UA/CO have yet to announce any large-scale fleet replacement plans. I expect that once those happen, AA will once again fade into obscurity size-wise. Financially, they're screwed because of their cost structure.
Why is everyone getting so worked up over the fact that American Airlines bought Airbus Aircraft. European airlines use boeing aircraft, no body seems to care. Maybe American Airlines wanted something that Boeing couldn't provide. Anyway Boeing and Airbus aircrafts are made from parts all over the world so you can't really say that Boeing airplanes are ALL American and Airbuses are ALL European.
@Char1ie473 No, it's not about not being able to provide. It's about not being able to provide fast enough. American needs to get rid of their MD-80's and 757's... they're old and not as efficient as a newer fleet could be. Sure, the NEO offers significant advantages over the 737NG... and possibly the 737RE. But in the end, I think that the largest deciding factor was the time-frame. By ordering from Airbus and Boeing, they'll be able to get twice the amount of airplanes in the same time. +1 AA
This airline is on bankrupt. How could will buy new fleet airplanes like 260 airbus 320, 200 boeing 737, 46 boeing 787 and I don't know what else. Delta and USAirways are planing to buy this airline. They are reducing flights on everywhere.

i love american airlines.I got to sit in first class on i think a 757 or 767 at the very front seat.

american airlines should only fly boeing aircraft
packer9129 6 months ago 20
@packer9129 You should tell Boeing to hurry up with that 737RE.
ModelAirports 6 months ago
@packer9129 I think you're wrong. Because then British, Lufthansa or Air France would be pressured to buy only Airbus. Such actions would only end up hurting Boeing.
Let the two compete – competition makes better aircraft.
mapleavenue77 4 months ago
@packer9129 I agree!
Delta1493 4 months ago
@packer9129 ok so in Europe we should not buy any american cars OK sound good. Or we buy from you and you buy from us, that how the global market works and if you don't by are things we not going to buy your things.

hockeyman1119 7 months ago
@hockeyman1119 Yea me too!
RickMakesGoodVideos 7 months ago
@hockeyman1119
I won't. Flying out of St. Louis with those old clunkers constantly sucks. They're loud and terribly outdated and dark on the inside. It'll be nice to get some of the 737's with the Sky interior.
alep85 5 months ago
@alep85 if your in the front half of the plane, they are not loud at all the the rear engines, the inside is the same as any AA plane just in MD-80 form. I dont know what you mean by dark on the inside
hockeyman1119 5 months ago
@hockeyman1119
Again, I won't miss the MD-80 one bit.
alep85 5 months ago
@alep85 there not that old, you would be supprised how many older planes there are such as most 757s and 767s, even some of AA 737-800s are old, not as old as the maddog but old, even some A320s are old
hockeyman1119 5 months ago
Great to see some 787s in the future

AA WHY CHANGE THE LIVERY!!!! PLEASE DONT!!!!
RANDOMNESS873 7 months ago 2
@allenspedface32 hey if you work for delta you dont have to worry about airbus A321s' to replace the 757 as delta is primarily a Being customer. Plus delta has the biggest 757 fleet in the world
FSXperson 7 months ago
@FSXperson They are going to retire them anyway. Delta is on talk with Airbus and Boeing for 757 replacement.
Chris58851 7 months ago
@FSXperson wrong the AA has the biggest 757 fleet in the world
Ilovegogosable 4 months ago
@allenspedface32 That's the reason why AA purchase A321 NEO to get rid of them.

DAL3294 7 months ago

@DAL3294 Southwest will also have Airbus when they finish the merger with AirTran.
mwaet 7 months ago
@mwaet Airtran is all boeing with a mix of 737s and 717s, they do not have any airbus aircraft in their fleet.

There isn't a way in hell AA, who has lost $10b in the last decade, will be able to pay for over $30b worth of planes in the next few decades. I would be shocked if they manage to take delivery of more than half of these planes.
I find it highly unlikely AA will actually have the youngest fleet of the big boys in five years, there is no way they are taking into account orders by the other legacy carriers that will absolutely happen in the next year.
qwerty112311 7 months ago
@qwerty112311 youngest fleets will be in Middle East and Asia where they actually have the money to afford such massive expansions
scanmannz 7 months ago
@scanmannz 1) They said in US 2) They don't have the money, they get subsidies and cheap loans for not being in the US, and some European countries.
qwerty112311 7 months ago
@qwerty112311 Financing works wonders... but Delta and UA/CO have yet to announce any large-scale fleet replacement plans. I expect that once those happen, AA will once again fade into obscurity size-wise. Financially, they're screwed because of their cost structure.
scaremengaviation 7 months ago
Why is everyone getting so worked up over the fact that American Airlines bought Airbus Aircraft. European airlines use boeing aircraft, no body seems to care. Maybe American Airlines wanted something that Boeing couldn't provide. Anyway Boeing and Airbus aircrafts are made from parts all over the world so you can't really say that Boeing airplanes are ALL American and Airbuses are ALL European.
Char1ie473 7 months ago
@Char1ie473 No, it's not about not being able to provide. It's about not being able to provide fast enough. American needs to get rid of their MD-80's and 757's... they're old and not as efficient as a newer fleet could be. Sure, the NEO offers significant advantages over the 737NG... and possibly the 737RE. But in the end, I think that the largest deciding factor was the time-frame. By ordering from Airbus and Boeing, they'll be able to get twice the amount of airplanes in the same time. +1 AA
