  • A smart, well educated and faithful Catholic is hard to FIND!

  • @DelBluenose80 But when you DO find such a person, it is wonderful - because only the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth. AND such people covert Protestants etc. from their errors.

  • The Protestant reformers rewrote the bible to justify their ways of living.

  • Agreed!

I use to be one of them Exevangelical

before reversing to my Roman Catholic Faith.

The One True Faith founded by Jesus Christ himself.

  • Dear Michael: Can you suggests some books on this subject. The relation between the Chuch and Western Civilization.

  • @vkorchnoifan "Trimuph" is an excellent history of the Church.

  • @RealCatholicTV Triumph you mean Michael?

  • @rcporras Yes; although if you can get the cheaper edition with the typesetting errors it is good too :)

  • @RealCatholicTV I hope everything's doing good there in Madrid! This is the gospel for today by the way. God bless!

  • @rcporras You threw me for a second there - the Gospel at the Tridentine Mass was the Pharisee & Tax Collector. Of course, the Novus Ordo one is the wonderful reading about the establishment of the Church on Peter.

  • @RealCatholicTV Oh wait i was on a different video of yours! lol! i was watching THE ROCK video! Im so sorry i wasnt paying attention. The Gospel today (Sunday Central Time) is Matthew Chapter 16. The Authority verse. was it not?

  • @rcporras Yep, in the Novus Ordo readings. I was at the Tridentine rite, which has different readings. But the Church bulletin column talked about both. Really, Matt 16 is very much about the foundation of civilization too; the Church is what BROUGHT civilization to the barbarian world; by bringing Christ to the Empire and then taking that civilized Empire to the world.

  • @RealCatholicTV I didnt know about that (the Tridentine rite), I was like "Oh my, am I going to a non-catholic church?" I live in Moose jaw, and we only have a couple of RC Church here so i thought i was going to the wrong church (Non-RCC's)! LOL

  • @rcporras It always throws me - I'll go to one Mass and someone will go to another and we'll be talking and we'r all like "Wha?"

In truth, a harmonization of the calendars would be a great blessing as it might foster a greater unity between what are (in some cases) becoming split camps.

  • @RealCatholicTV I agree! God bless!

  • @vkorchnoifan "How The Catholic Church Built Western Civilization" is also very good, I think the title is self explanatory.

  • "Protestantism is founded on the simple idea that truth can be relative."

What is truth? It would seem that their are many Protestants i.e. heretics pretending to be Catholics!

  • Dear Bro. RealCatholic,

While what you say is essentially correct, I think that saying that Protestantism bears the seeds of the destruction of Western Civilization is too harsh. Presenting the facts is such a stark way will only give rise to needless offense & confusion. It sounds like you are saying the Protestants are destroying Western Civilization. This is hardly their intent. We are now seperated by 100s of yrs. from the Reformation. Evangelical types are simply trying to be faithful.

  • >> Evangelical types are simply trying to be faithful

But faithful to WHAT? Not the faith handed on by Christ to the Apostles, but a made-up, man-made faith which hates and despises Catholicism. Individual Protestants may not hate Catholics - but the Protestant sects are founded on theological rejections of everything the Catholic Church stands for.

Protestants are faithful to the original rebellion - which means they are still rebelling, but just don't realize it.

  • One of my favorite books is C.S. Lewis' Discarded Image. A defense of the Medieval world view, the image which was discarded. That image was indeed shattered at the Reformation. Some people, not knowing their origins, picked up some of its broken fragments & tried to carry them close to their bossom. They are faithfull to the light that is given to them. W/o the evangelicals in America, could we resist abortion, "gay rights" as well as we have?

  • Resist "as well as we have"?

We have abortion on demand for any purpose up to and including the moment of birth. We have freedom for homosexuals to practice their deviant activities without censure.

So, we haven't successfully resisted at all.

And without Protestantism (which says, ultimately, that MAN decides what GOD means) we would never have had abortion, or "gay rights", or anything of the sort.

Protestantism is founded on the simple idea that truth can be relative.

  • & the situation would be even worse w/o Evangelicals. In England, abortion is covered under socialized medicine. Hillary would have gotten her socialized medicine back in '92 w/o their opposition. You would have been paying to kill babies for almost 20yrs. now. & where were the Catholic bishops on this issue? It was the Mormons who stopped Prop. 8 in Calif. & Orrin Hatch was the most effective pro-life senator. & who votes for Kennedy, Kerry et al. Catholics mostly.

  • You want to make this about Evangelicals - by which you mean orthodox, conservative Evangelicals. This is about PROTESTANTS - the vast majority of which support all these evils.

England is actually more Protestant than America - so your argument fails there.

And the fact BAD CATHOLICS support bad things does not change the truth of the matter - although you want it to.

  • Bottom line - Protestantism says it is okay to change the word of God and the instructions of God. One can be a good Protestant and support abortion - many do - because one can just find a Protestant community which DOES support abortion.

This is the issue under discussion - you want to turn this into a comparison between bad Catholics and conservative Evangelicals. That is not what this is about, is disingenous, and is not going to happen.

  • @VictorLepanto : What are the Evangelicals being faithful to? Fundamentalism? That is not following Christ. They've made a joke of Protestantism. The numbers of Christians are declining and I think Evangelicals have alot to do with it. I've travelled abroad and have been told that "American Christians" such as Baptists and Evangelicals have a reputation for being ignorant and closed minded. It's a disgrace. It drives people away from Christ.

  • @VictorLepanto With maybe with good intentions, but many of the Protestant Reformers established heresies by disregarding core truths of sacred scripture and tradition. Innovation is not always a good thing nor is it good for the state to control the church.

  • was st. ignatius of antioch(the one who created the term catholic) the same person who created the term "christian" in the acts of the apostles???

    thanks!!!

  • He was not - Ignatius was not alive when Acts was written.

  • You are an ignorant fool.

Bible translations to German have already been around before Luther was born !

Regarding English, don't you know that between 50-60% of English words originated from Latin - the official language of the Catholic Church.

Regarding the Bible, you need to study history and find out who safeguarded the holy writings, compiled the Bible, and gave it canonical authority in the 4th/5th centuries - the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church gave you the Bible.

  • Amen to this video, and your comments, Sir. Voris!! I love your videos, and it is about time there are people who teach what Jesus really taught, and show others how the Catholic church, and ONLY the Catholic Church is the ONE TRUE CHURCH founded by Christ.

We will have to say many rosaries I imagine for the conversion of oh so many Protestants, and non believers. Mother Mary, pray for us all.

  • >> I was just reading the debate you were having

Not very well, obviously, owing to your obvious failure to absorb all the points.

  • >> the Catholic Church described the translation by William Tyndale in England as heresy because it was written in English

Not at all, and that is TOTALLY against what I said in other points.

    i) The Catholic Church translated the Bible into English long before Tyndale was born

ii) Tyndale was condemned because he changed the Bible and hacked it up to reflect his own theology.

  • >> it was read aloud in Latin which the masses couldn't understand

Again, not true! The people were WELL aware of the Scriptures, and also of the teaching of Jesus Christ. The same teaching the Protestants have obscured and hidden for 500 years.

I see no reason to continue discussion with people who CAN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO READ WHAT HAS GONE ON BEFORE IN THE DEBATE!

  • So far, this is my favorite video RealCatholicTV has put out. I still don't know your views on everything though.

  • Actually earlt Protestants - as historians know - removed rights from women that had already existed in the Middle Ages. Although that situation changed over time, today, Protestantism has victimzed women by pushing the culture of death.

  • Protestantism made modern radical Islam possible. If Protestantism did not arise, Catholics would have swept away Islamic states in the Middle East in the 16th and 17th century.

  • If you knew anything about history, you would know that even the translators of the KJV version admitted in their preface that other translations of the Bible into English existed long before Wycliffe.

  • Luther was only the first to translate the New Testament from Greek to German. At least 14 translations of the Latin Bible or New Testament had been printed in German BEFORE LUTHER WAS BORN!!! And those are just the German ones. Bibles also existed in other translations.

Also, there had always been translations that were hand copied and passed around.

  • I am done with you. I described Wyclyffe's TRANSLATION as heretical - because it was full of errors! NOT because translating it is heresy.

As I pointed out, the Catholic Church translated the book LONG before Luther was around.

And it was no good the language being spoken by the working classes - THEY COULDN'T READ! Which is why the Bible was READ OUT LOUD at Catholic Mass.

  • You admit you were wrong with your comments about Luther, yet you continue to make comments without learning.

If you are going to continue this habit of posting without thinking or learning, I see no reason to allow you to embarass yourself further.

  • It should also be pointed out that Catholic Churches did have a bible available for individuals to read. It should also be stated that it was chained to a pole within a given church building to prevent theft.

Before the invention of the printing press bibles were hand written, which I believe would require a lifetime to produce. In other words, it was almost impossible to replace without many years of hand-writing another copy. This is based upon practicality not repression.

  • >> It's scientifically impossible to transmit or catch an STI as long as it is used properly

Rubbish. Condoms can break or tear, or fluids can work around them. Condoms have a failure rate of about 10%.

Seriously - do research before making a fool of yourself.

  • So, contraception has a failure rate - always. Condoms can break, decay, be badly made etc. etc. It is possible to catch an STD when using a condom.

It is, of course, COMPLETELY impossible to catch an STD without having sex! See how my idea is just better than yours?

In addition - contraception is EVIL. Every single Christian - every single one! - agreed with this before the Anglicans changed their mind in 1930. Yes, 1930. The approval of contraception is less than 100 years old.

  • So much for Protestantism claiming to be "authentic Christians"; it changes its mind more often than they change their socks! Which is precisely the point of this video - Protestantism has approved of contraception, homosexuality, abortion, fornication, divorce . . . all of these things strike at the heart of Western Civilization.

Protestantism is a faith of treachery. Protestants need to realize this, and get out of such a terrible system which is killing the world!

  • Being Protestant myself it is difficult to agree with the above accusations in most respects. However, I would like to encourage Protestants to view EWTN's program entitled, "The Catholic Church: Builder of Civilization" hosted by Thomas E. Woods, Jr. (he is an evangelical convert to Catholicism). True one could merely accuse Mr. Woods of being biased it the individual making such an accusation is free to view the source material from his book (the content of the program is based upon his book).

  • It is my impression that the Catholic Church condemns contraception because it encourages sexual promiscuity, an act condemned in the bible. Would this be a correct impression?

  • Partially - the main reason for opposing contraception is not what it leads to, but what it is. It is a divorcing of the unitive, pleasurable and procreative aspects of sex. It does not LEAD to women being made into whores - women ARE made into whores (and men too) because they are simply objects of pleasure, NOT of life-generation, in contracepted sex.

  • >> Martin Luthur was the first to translate it into a widely spoken language (German)

A simple lie. Bede of Jarrow translated it into Anglo Saxon in the 600s. To say nothing of Wyclyffe's heretical translation before Luther.

Do some research before shooting your mouth off.

  • >> YOU for certain wouldn't be able to interpret it for yourself.

You do know the Bible itself SPECIFICALLY says that we are not ALLOWED to interpret it for ourselves? Scriptural "is not a matter of private interpretation". One of the letters of Peter.

But, then again, Protestantism does tend to ignore verses of the Bible it doesn't like. Why is anyone a Protestant? Is it really so hard to obey Jesus?

  • A post full of errors.

    i) The first printed Bible was CATHOLIC. The Catholic Church was the first to translate the Bible into the vernacular.

ii) Democracy was a pre-Christian concept.

ii) If contraception prevents STDs, then why is the highest percentage of STDs found in countries which ENCOURAGE contraception, rather than those which encourage abstinence?

It really takes a lot to be as wrong as you are! Good effort!

  • Oh - and England became Protestant because Henry VIII wanted to commit adultery. So, thanks for admitting the entirety of your faith is based on a fat man wanting sex!

  • Good points. While your videos a re a big "in your face" the content is certailny right on.

  • Well said. I've often wondered about the "reformers" in general and Henry VIII in particular. Could they really not see the falacies of their positions and actions and what would result? Cut off from Tradition means cut off from history which means cut off from the fullness of Truth. And if they really could see it, how depressing it must have been to know they were not living for truth.

  • I wondered how long it would take to get to your pet subject of misanthropy! Not long!

Point 1 - Protestants allow the use of contraception, which means women can be treated as simply objects of pleasure. We have a word for that - it is not a nice word. The polite version of it is "lady of negotiable affection".

Let me restate this - Protestantism allows for contraception, which allows men to use women as pleasure objects. This is sinful and wrong and COMPLETELY misoginistic.

  • Point 2 - Even IF (and note this is IF, not AS) Protestants gave women more rights, the fact Protestantism denies salvation (which you do not challenge and therefore can only be assumed to agree with) trumps that.

You reveal your true colors by this comment (and also by your profile page); you are a feminist FIRST and a Christian SECOND. You are not concerned with salvation or Christ; you are concerned with promoting an unjust pro-female movement and attacking Islam.

  • I have spent enough time with this; placing the female above the male is JUST as unChristian as placing the male above the female. You are treating Christianity as a means to an end, and have all-but admitted Protestantism denies salvation.

No more comments about feminism, misanthropy or Islam, please!

  • What is perhaps most disturbing regarding Protestantism and even liberal-Catholics, not to mention the politically-correct secularists, in relation to "women's rights" is the shift from the concern for individual rights to the forced masculanization of female children as well as the feminization of male children within the government-run public school system. Obviously the media also heavily promotes this agenda.

  • You deny the ordinary means of salvation, the sacraments. You deny access to the vehicle of salvation, the Church. You do not offer the Eucharist, without which Jesus says there IS NO SALVATION.

  • >> Catholics and Protestants are both Christian and must unite against Islam

And you will notice we don't say that isn't true. But the simple fact of the matter is, Protestantism is against the Catholic Church (who built Western Civilization) and is thus AGAINST Western Civilization.

Some of Protestantism promotes contraception and abortion. NONE of Islam promotes these things.

More people are killed every month by abortion than have been killed in the whole history of Islamic terror.

  • In any case - this video is NOT about Islam. No more Islamic comments will be tolerated. As for you, Hyrule - take care with your comments. I am deleting the one where you swear and make the statement differences between Protestantism and Catholicism don't matter.

They DO matter. Very much. Protestantism denies the means of salvation, and thus attempts to deny salvation to humanity.

  • Also; this video is not a place for you to rail against Islam. Find another video to do that, and watch your mouth and stop swearing!

  • Nice video. God bless!

  • May the good Lord bless and keep you, Michael!

  • Some of the Protest churches offer some of the things God wants us to have for salvation, while others are heretical and unorthodox. Only the Catholic Church offers EVERYTHING God intended us to have for our Salvation.

The Catholic Church - Serving God since 33 AD!

Deus Lux Mea Est!- God is my Light!

  • Brilliant! God bless you and keep you.

  • Just take five verses of the bible and you can start a new denomination.

  • My dad has been a huge anti-catholic most of his adult life. I recently found out he has been sitting outside the Catholic Church reading his bible and praying. He told my sister that it gives him peace to be in the parking lot of the Catholic Church.

  • thank God for you Michael! I hope everyone supports realcatholictv. I dont know what i would do without it! We need you and your knowledge and I thankyou again!

  • Protestantism Produces Anarchy, And Not Authentic Christian Unity in Our Lord. Only the Catholic Church is in the model of ordered Kingdom with Prime Minister and King in Heaven with Queen Mother at His right hand. Protestantism is not able to support an orderly Kingdom for the King Jesus, who never intended that it exist in the first place. Protestantism exists because of men's pride, rejecting many of the authentic teachings of the King, and distorting many of the ones accepted.

  • There are more than 30,000 different Protestant cults, denominations, groups (or whatever they want to call themselves) today.

Protestantism is fragmenting at a rate of 5new "churches" each week and each one claims to be inspired by the Truth of the Bible. Jesus calls for unity yet Protestantism is the driving force for division.

Secularism and materialism are also fellow travelers of Protestantism.

  • If Martin Luther truly "reformed" the Church, how come we're not all Lutherans? Hmmm...

  • There's even more to it than that. If there are 10 Protestant sects which each believe they alone have the truth, then logically at least 9 must be teaching lies. Since God is truth, all lies come from Satan, the Father of lies. And since all Protestant sects reject some truth which can be traced back to the early church founded by Christ, then actually, 10 out of 10 follow lies. Which means, all Protestantism is inspired by Satan and doing his work. Harsh, but unfortunately true.

  • That's too simplistic approach. I think we need to remember that protestants are are brothers in Christ too..just read the Catechism. Protestant churches are not lies completely, they also contain many truths about Christ..don't see them as something unto their own for we share much with them. Of course the Catholic church has the full truth, and let us pray and spread with word to these so that all people may become fully enetered into Christ's beautiful Church.

  • >> they also contain many truths about Christ

But those truths are Catholic truths. Anything in Protestantism which is uniquely Protestant is false. Only the things they took from Catholics are true.

  • Completely in agreement with you!

  • @ "capone70 "

    soooo true

There are actually over 30,000 different denominations which claim to be "Christian".

    That's a lot of lies.

  • @capone70

When st. Joseph of Cupertino was in Assisi(he lived in the 17th century) two protestants visited the town to see him. He converted one of them and the satan told him (st. Joseph):,, Why are you taking him away from me? He is mine.''.
