Our sense of how people should look has become very distorted as the population gets bigger and bigger. It is much more 'normal' to see people eating what used to be consider a decent meal as a 'snack' with the visible consequences that we see in the street every day. International Life never uses models who are outside the healthy weight range.
it's a shame that society has got to the point whereby fat and unhealthy is the norm and slim, healthy individuals are considered freaks. sadly, it seems those who have a good diet and take care of themselves are ridiculed by those whose lifestyle is far less desirable.
theres taking care of yourself, and then theres taking it too far...that model in the vid seemes like a naturally skinny kinda girl, nothing forced about it, its only when girls feel that they need to try and make their body into something that its naturally not that i find a problem, and fat people aren't considered the "norm" otherwise there would be more curvy models, then again size 12 is considered a plus size in the modeling world which takes the piss so skinny is seen as the nrom, not fat
Thank you Candy. We aim to use girls who show none of the signs of forcing their natural size down. This is obvious from their cheeks - hollow cheeks (as opposed to good cheekbones) are not natural on any young girl.
granted this girl is very pretty but if what you say is the case why dont you 'in the modeling industry' use more girls who are Um-mm lets say naturally size 12-14 (average size in uk for most women)because maybe if you did less 8yr olds would be developing anorexia....!
I am not in the modelling industry, I am an editor. The photographer and designer would never cast a girl who is unhealthy for any of our work. Who says girls are naturally 12-14? Young girls are more likely naturally to be 8-10 - people are getting bigger all right, but often not in a good way. At Biba in the 1970s they tried a size 12 but it didn't sell, so they stopped. Overweight is a far greater problem in the UK statistically than underweight.
Hi - on the contrary, International Life has a policy of using healthy models only. Priscilla is a tall, slim, healthy girl, and a brilliantly talented model. As well as being very beautiful. In a way, the very beautiful are 'freaks' in that the majority of the population do not come into this category. It is somewhat 'freakist' to suggest she should not be on YouTube though!
Wow, Mr. Doherty, this is amazing... nice one... you managed to stay vertical long enough to do this shoot.... good on you!
