I never played this game. I will have to pick it up sometime and add it to my SNES collection. I will also have to get the N 64 game too. I used to own it back in the day but no longer have it. I have started collecting games again and Pilotwings needs to be part of my collection.

I was loving it! ;) First i was playing it on n64 and i was playing al the levels again! it was boring..... But when i bought my nintendo wii, i saw that there was a better version of it on Wii sports resort! now there is Pilotwings for 3DS ;)

I LOVED Pilotwings both for the SNES and the N64. Why dont they make one for the Wii? I think it would be spectacular if they did. It would fly (no pun intended) off the shelves !!! I loved the Rocket Pak on the 64!!

I was disappointed that pilotwings 64 didn't have skydiving. At least not in the first level. I actually did enjoy it, but never got to play this game.

I loved this game. I was in love during the time that this game came out so it holds fond memories for me that are also quite bittersweet. It's the only time I have ever been in love.

You have to remember with this game that it's all about intertia and trajectory. The skydiving I was actually aces at. The key is looking at the dot that's below the current ring (and maybe even the one below that) and lining up a vector to hit all three. Once you get good at this you can trace a pretty graceful line down all the rings. Landing is the easy part. ;)

Pilotwings on Snes was excellent, Pilotwings 64 was amazing graphically speaking (at the time), i really enjoyed both games. I hope a Pilotwings HD for the next Nintendo console

funny I tend to be the reverse... hang gliding I was good at, skydiving I sucked at (often miss half the rings and esp trying to lang on those tiny ass targets).

Me too. Once I got to Lesson 3, I always missed half the rings skydiving. Fortunately, you can still get a pretty good score regardless of how many you pass through as long as you land on target.

Exellent review! Once I first bought this game when I was like 4, I've been training to be a real pilot all the way to now when I'm 16! I can't agree with your review fully!
