  • Yes ... all comments reflect the talent we are hearing here. Stamm is just outstanding ... so rare to hear someone with his technique play 'for the music' ... and every note he plays means something ... there's no gratuitous horn acrobatics ... and a wonderful focus on the soun. Just wonderful by all!

  • What a gem!

  • I used to see Ed with his trio at the Villager in Dallas in the late sixties. The drummer i never got to be. I still see him at UNT, and he still wails.

  • I was at North Texas when Ed Soph was still a studint there. I watched him play almost every day for a year, and NOT ONE DAY PASSED WHERE HE FAILED TO KNOCK ME OUT! NOT ONE!

  • Ed Soph - professor of percussion (jazz) at North Texas. Rufus Reid - now retired from William Patterson. Two players who are at the top of the pile while still being great university teachers. Bill Mays - goes to the gig, practices classical piano at a very high level and it shows. Marvin is the true king of jazz trumpet.

  • Great Tune, excellent players. These guys are heavies. Don't know these players as well but love them already! Piano player takes it out, trumpet brings it home! Awesome.
