my printer wont take the painters tape paper...well it does but it pulls it in and spits it out without printing anything onto it then it grabs a regular piece of paper and just prints on that. why? is there a special button or setting i have to push or what? help a brotha out.

There are also good pre-made digital camo reference sheets online. You can use those instead of drawing out your own pattern on graph paper. This would also be a great way to copy logos or anything else that would be impossible to freehand. Thanks for making the video!

this is an ingenious way of making stencils and a big time-saver due to the double sides :D

I'm gonna use this for all my stenciling from now on :D

A little warning to all people with a LASERJET printer: watch out with putting anything in it apart from the standard printing paper.

A laserjet uses HEAT to fix the powder to the paper, however it MAY occur that the glue on the tape evaporates in your printer (which is obviously not good).

Last but not least, NEVER put PLASTIC sheets in a laserjet.

I want to do this, but I want to stick camouflage to my camera, as I will not paint it, so I am left with only the choice for stick on camouflage, and I won't use glue. maybe different shades of tape would work or just book wrapping paper (The sticky shit that usually has the Simpsons on it that kids cover books with).

Awesome! Printable graph paper can be found on web. Google 1/8" graph paper template and it comes right up. There is also a 1/4" and 1/2" option.

Painters tape won't do shit if you make the edges right-printers are supposed to print on cardstock which is thicker than this so noworries

found a shortcut: just stick painters tape like the video shows to one side of graph paper, draw your outlines, the cut the graph paper and peel off the tape. the adhesive isn't powerful enough to tear the paper

I just painted my jeep in digital camo. I found that you can use self adhesive shelf paper that has 1/2 inch guide squares on it. I made my pixels 1 inch. I just used an exacto knife to cut out the design. The shelf paper comes in 20 foot roles for 5 bucks.

I like your technique. I prefer to cut my stencils out and then use the original sheet as a stencil, that way when I apply the paint I only get the shape I want and not all the extra paint around the stencil. That's just my way, though.
