  • Creationists are rattled. They are on the backfoot. Atheists are winning the argument and they cant cope with the arguments so they fall back on the "how rude!" reaction.

  • Evolution is not Joy's opinion, it's a scientific fact. When you decide to forgo empirical evidence for a fairy tale, that is child abuse because you're teaching a fantasy in place of reality.

  • creationism is just another way to hold on to religion and save it. evolution disproves the whole bible.

  • I suppose the Fox fuckers dont know that Joy is a self admitted catholic herself

  • Joy is right!

  • Since when did Joy Behar receive a degree in child development? Really, who is she to judge what anyone teaches their child. Joy, stick to your own brand of entertainment and allow parent to teach their children whatever they choose

  • They misquoted her and that pisses me off. She said not teaching your child Darwinism was child abuse.

  • Sorry Joy is wrong! She makes all of those who believe in evolution look arrogant.I am a christian who think evolution is very credible but it is still a theory.A credible one but a theory. The worlds leading scientist dont even debate that fact.I am a christian who can say that evolution will be prven eventually without a question. However I believe in another theory. This is that a creater set all of this into motion, and it didnt happen by chance.I know most arent like Bahar, shes an asshole.

  • Intelligent design was the result of the Vatican's inability to combat the Facts of evolution.

  • Her jaw is going to hit the floor WHEN she stands before Christ Jesus our Lord. The is much scripture in the Word of God about what the unbelieving people would be like in the last days right before the eminent return of Christ, people that turn the truth of God into a lie, scoffers, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, boasters, prideful, debaters, think good will be evil and evil good, blasphemers, unholy, false accusers, highminded, without natural affection, ect.

    sound about right

  • What a vile woman

  • I gained some respect for Joy Behar. I hope she kicks all those ignorant religious people in the nuts

  • Huckabee is such a hypocrytical fat bastard, "if you don't accept my world view your an idiot" isn't that the bases of the bible, i wonder does this stupid hypocritical bastard support banning same sex marriage and abortion? i would rather believe what science tells me than the nonsense written some book that was more than likely printed on recylced toilet paper

  • @FiveKiller67 Isn't that exactly the opposite of what Huck is saying here? Whether you agree or not, at least he's civil about his views and tolerates other people, unlike you.

  • @FiveKiller67 Your comment is another great example of the compassion that is wrought by an atheistic worldview. If you want people to listen to you, be sensible and respectful.

  • @FiveKiller67 Wow!! I'll bet you're a hit at prayer time down at the YMCA before swimming instructions begin!! Dust off you bible son, the day of judgement is coming and you don't want to be caught dead with those words that you wrote about the "toilet paper bible" on you lips. It could get hot where your going if you don't!!

  • "If she weighs the same a duck, she must be a witch"

  • I think that because a lot of Christians put evolution as opposed to their viewpoints that when a lot of people found out what evolution was, they turned from Christianity. I think that this juxtaposition has caused a lot of people to become atheists, so I think a lot of Christians need to re-evaluate what they want from how evolution is taught. Most American Biologists are Christian. Get over the evolution v. creationism debate.

  • it's about using logic creationism lacks logic evolution doesn't it's based in science and reasoning

  • Go joy!

  • The saddest fact in all of this is that the view has the ratings it does, and people actually believe the BS these airhead morons chirp about. Notice how Bahar just makes really cheap one-liner comments w/o evidence, real debate or fact. Just cheap one liners in a slow, serious voice known to all talk show hosts when you want the audience to applaud when you are done. I blame everyone who listens to her for whatever she says and not her. They shouldnt even be watching.

  • This is crazy. Why is a news channel discussing religion? Thats for church.

  • @w00tsville So? They have their own channel and their own money. They can spend it however they want, and they can talk about whatever they damn well please.

  • Huckabee is just flat out wrong. Darwinism is as much as "philosophy" as the heliocentric theory, gravity, theories dealing with electricity, the theory of relativity, are also "philosophy" as well. . I agree that teaching kid with an anti science perspective such as evolution isn't true, the earth is 6000-10000 yrs old, or that there is no such thing as gravity and it's just angels pull your feet down when you fall is child abuse. It teaches the world the the US is ignorant of science

  • Look not all atheists are Marxists.

  • Baher is a far left as they come and has all the mentally ill attributes to go with it.

  • @MrAntiFarLeft mentally ill as speaks the truth.

  • she didn't equate creationism with child abouse, she said not letting kids know about other beliefs was child abuse... i dont agree with her statement but i also don't agree with false reporting

  • The left doesn't hate religion. They support radical Islam.

  • That particular View was an embarrassment, not only to the Christian community, but even more so to the science community. Mike Huckabee stated it true, Darwinism is a philosophy, it is Not science. The fact that Joy didn't get that demonstrated how unqualified she was to discuss the subject.

  • If being scientifically literate makes one what you conservatives call a "left-wing extremist" then she may indeed be.

Conservatives and Christians are NOT entitled to their own science and the world is NOT flat. WAKE UP!!!

  • Clucking Chickens, Burrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkk. Darwinism! Brrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkk

  • Why is this woman news? She's NOT intelligent. She's not even funny. Why give her the credit or the air time? She is an embarrassment to the left.

  • joy is a nutcase... thank God shes not my mother.

  • I love Joy...she's wrong to say it's child abuse, but she's absolutely right that it breeds ignorance when children are not taught a theory that is backed up my an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence. Certainly parents should be able to teach their faith to their children, but to not give them both sides and allow them to make up their own minds is wrong.

  • also mike hucakbe is a retared of the highest order he pardoned a rapist who went on to murder at least one woman, if not two and commuter a murdere who killed 4 cops this guys is a total jackass

  • yes it is child abuse they are destroying their intelligence telling kids they are gonna burn in hell among other thing for not believing into fairy tales vs proof

*watch jesus camp* yuol know what imm talking about

  • i love Joy =)

  • I find it funny how the ones shoving creationism down our throats are the ones now yelling "they discriminate against me"

oh please, religion has (and still is) discriminated against everyone with a different view since the dawn of time, and i'm not talking about any religion specifically, they all do it.

  • It's funny how far up the abstraction ladder a politician is willing to go to win an argument. It's funnier that they get away with it.

For example, "If you have a different opinion, I am not going to force mine on you."

Here, clearly the list of exceptions is near infinite. What about my opinion that I should be allowed to do drugs, steal, and rape with impunity? Or the 9/11 hijackers opinion that Allah will bring paradise faster because of their martyrdom?

  • yea yea yea whatever!!!!!!!!

  • Evolution is one of the most firmly established theories in history. It is solidly based on laws of physics, chemistry, biology, and paleontology. It has tens of thousands of experiments and observations made over more than 150 years without any credible evidence to the contrary.

Creationism is mysticism pretending to be science.

If there were evidence contradicting evolution, the scientific community would abandon it in short order. There simply is no credible evidence to the contrary.

  • I'm not a scientist, but established theory is still a theory...nothing proven there

  • Theories don't get "proven."

Not trying to flame anyone, but that is one of the biggest disconnects in this whole discussion.

Science collects facts, observations about the world, scientists then create hypotheses about how processes work.

How does A relate to B relate to C.

Experiements are then conducted to try to disprove the hypothesis.

Hypothesis that are not disproven beomes theories of how the world works. Eventually very strong theories.

    But they are never "proven".

  • The problem with young Earth creationism is that there is massive amounts of evidence that conflicts with those ideas. For creationism to be true we would have to assume that many theories of biology, chemistry and physics are wrong. Even though we have hundreds, thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of experiments over the course of centuries to back them up.

Are those theories proven, no. All it takes is one experiment that can be reliably and independently repeated to disprove a theory.

  • An analogy to the creation controversy from Engineering might be if we were trying to measure the weight of a Boeing 747 aircraft. We could take careful measurements of the weight of the individual components. How much thrust the engines develop to get the plane of the ground.

Some engineers may say the plane weighs 974,500 pounds. other engineers may say that it weighs 975,200 pounds. The answers will never be exact because of the missing links in our knowledge of what went in the plane.

  • But what if a creationist steps forward and says that a Boeing 747 weighs 20 pounds. Is it impossible? Technically no, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. That evidence is just not available.

And to say "Well, the technical experts don't know if it weighs 974,500 or 975,200 pounds, so we ought to teach children in grade school that it might weigh 20 pounds also."

If we teach children everying that "might" be true without evidence, we teach them nothing at all.

  • @RobynHarris methinks evolution has much more evidence than the talking snake speaking to the naked lady in the garden

  • oh god... lol, go joy go. christians are reallllllly dense.. blah blah blah they keep talking crazy nonsense and hault the social progression of society.

  • Whenever a right-wing point is made, ur a racist or a neo-con nut-case, wot about left-wing nut-cases? They exist in droves, yet hardly anything is said about them, well said Huckabee, and thank you for uploading this video to show that left wingers can make inflammatory remarks just as much as right wingers.

  • It is Scientifically OBSERVABLE that the government is LIBERAL and LIES their asses off constantly.

  • I have a theory that politicians are all crooks.

  • I was born and raised a Catholic and accepted everything I was taught. Now that I am an adult, I have questions. I still believe in Jesus's teachings to love one another and judging not, but other than that I guess you could say I am a fallen Catholic who likes to use the brain I was given.

  • Relatively speaking, I had an invisible friend when I was a child, but he went away when I grew up and realized that nothing was taking care of me but myself. These thoughts, this body, they were not created by some God but by myself, threw my life experiences and the consequences of my actions. I am not a Christianphobe as much as Christians are homophobes. I just want everyone to remember they are free to do whatever as long as they don't try to take away those same rights from others.

  • Oh he drives me crazy. Like atheists are persecuting the religious. We can't let people's invisible friends run the white house, that's a big person job.

  • Do you realize that you are more indoctrinated than most religious people? Want to know why I think that? Because your the millionth person I've heard refer to God as an "invisible friend". You may not go to church to pick up this language or bigotry, but you still follow the same old line as all the other virtue hating Christophobes that I have heard through the television cult. Stop your worship of the filth on television.

  • Ahhh . . . Christophobia.

    The fear of being wrapped.

Would the second coming be preceded by the wrapture?

  • i like you

  • "You made the first ad hominem attack: "The over-confidence with which you speak..." "

--Confidence is very subjective. Homophobia is not.

"You are a homophobe if you think homosexuality is not natural, that children need to be "protected".. I don't care if you've never actually insulted a homosexual."

--That is inconsistent with the English dictionary. You are showing irrationality which means I am wasting my time. I really have to be getting back to running my business right now.

  • The problem with evolution is that it only attempts to explain how simple life became complex...it doesn't address how matter got here or how it started to live.

Evolution is a THEORY of life development, not a theory of how the world got here.

So, what force created the all the matter as we know it?

  • Evolution doesn't attempt to explain how the earth itself was formed, that's not the point. It explains how species evolved from tiny cells.

The big bang explains how the universe (all the matter, as you called it) was formed.

We're unsure on some of the details, but there's no serious doubt in the scientific community that the big bang and evolution both happened.

  • The big bang is also consistent with an outside intelligent force creating matter.

How do you think living matter started on earth?

Also, where can I find the best resource / defense against the charge that our fossil records lack the transitional fossils consistent with genetic evolution?

    Thanks.

  • Well yeah, you could argue that the big bang is consistent with an intelligent designing force. It doesn't contradict belief in God. But I don't think the big bang *requires* an outside force, and that's the point: it eliminates the reason God HAS to exist.

Life arose from acids with proteins in them, which evolved into single cell amoebas which produced organisms with more cells then flimsy digestive systems and eyes and then they evolved into fish then lizards, dinosaurs, birds, mammals etc

  • "But I don't think the big bang *requires* an outside force, and that's the point: it eliminates the reason God HAS to exist."

--So what was the first mover?

"Life arose from acids with proteins in them"

--That view isn't shared by many scientists. They are very divided on this. Richard Dawkins even said in the movie Expelled that he thought it was plausible that an intelligent life form designed us and planted us here.

The over-confidence that you speak with undermines your whole message.

  • Hmmm there's a difference between "plausible" and "probable". Dawkins was probably being polite.

I'm not trying to be over confident, I'm explaining MY reasons for not sharing your beliefs.

Here's some Dawkins for you since you're such a fan: it's a Christian's responsibility to prove God exists, not an atheist's responsibility to prove he DOESN'T (do I have to also disprove the Easter bunny, because I can't disprove that, but nobody really takes that seriously beyond the age of ten).

  • "Dawkins was probably being polite."

--Dawkins basically said, yes intelligent design is possible but that intelligent design being God is not. As for Dawkins "probably being polite", why do you bother to tell me this? I saw it and you didn't so what valuable information are you adding?

"it's a Christian's responsibility to prove God exists"

--Tell that to God. It seems like you are using this logic to make yourself not feel culpable before a potential God.

  • I've read The God Delusion and Unravelling the Rainbow. Dawkins has made this argument in his books. It's not a Christian god, there you go. Why did YOU bring it up if it wasn't relevant to an argument on the existence of a Christian God?

I was speculating on his intention in making that comment, which you can't know from watching that program any more than I can from NOT seeing it.

"Tell that to God"? I'm not afraid of judgement...I'm an atheist...

  • As for the fossil records, I've never seen any evidence *against* evolution. BUT our own bodies are pretty compelling "living fossils"; we've got tailbones from when our ancestors had tails, and whales have pelvises from when they used to have LEGS (explains why whales are mammals). And you know how the human body doesn't need the appendix? Our ape ancestors used to live on a diet of raw plants, and we used the appendix to break down the tough leaves.

  • "As for the fossil records, I've never seen any evidence *against* evolution."

--What sort of fossils findings would be inconsistent with evolution?

--Why do we find current fossils that are billions of years old that look exactly like animals today?

--Also, why hasn't the government setup an institute to look for the next version of humans?

Shouldn't we be testing every baby to see if a new human is formed?

  • "What sort of fossils findings would be inconsistent with evolution?"

That's the creationists job to find out. I don't think any WOULD, that's my point.

"Why do we find current fossils that are billions of years old that look exactly like animals today?"

What are these? (this is not a good argument if you haven't provided an example)

"The next version of humans"...Evolution takes thousands of years. Nothing drastic is happening now, although we are becoming less hairy.

  • I've just viewed your profile and you're a homophobe. Now THAT undermines your arguments.

  • A homophobe by definition has an irrational fear of homosexuals. Considering how many gay rights rallies I go to and hang out at...it would be impossible for me to be a homophobe. Also, I have never a pejorative against a homosexual in my life.

"Now THAT undermines your arguments. "

--That is an attach against the man and logically irrational at undermining my arguments. Honestly stop for a second. Think. Breath. Are you happy with your arguments or are you just deeply angry at others?

  • You made the first ad hominem attack: "The over-confidence with which you speak..." That's an attack on my phrasing, not my arguments themselves. Which you've not refuted.

I'm happy with the reasons for my beliefs, yes. What are YOUR reasons for believing in God??

You are a homophobe if you think homosexuality is not natural, that children need to be "protected".. I don't care if you've never actually insulted a homosexual.

Make a decent case for God's existence.

  • Evolution is not a theory, ask an scientist. Creationism is a theory because it cannot be proven (until after death). Evolution is some people can see; notice the Jade Wasp, or umm, people? We developed from little tiny monkeys which were once little tiny specs. We don't know what happened to start everything, but we know how we evolved. It's proven, unlike any religious theory. You don't have to have faith in evolution because it's REAL.

  • "Evolution is not a theory, ask an scientist."

Micro-evolution is a fact. Nobody disagrees.

Evolution as the explanation for how our world developed is a theory. Go read any science book. They will talk about the distinctions. You have to use scientific method to prove a theory through OBSERVATION. So how many worlds have we seen go from single-celled to populated?

  • We have no idea if other worlds are populated.

At the very beginning of the segment, he is speaking of something great but being very hypocritical. Rewatch when Huckabee begins speaking, speaking of Joy as though she is putting down the religious right. But, at the same time, as he is pointing this out and point out that she is being vicious against his point of view is in cause the same thing. They are both being speakerboxes for their beliefs. So what, who cares?

  • "You have to use scientific method to prove a theory through OBSERVATION"

WRONG! well fairly wrong. i'll correct your sentence, then YOU go look up the definition of a scientific Theory and the word i substitute it with.

You have to use scientific method to prove a HYPOTHESIS through OBSERVATION. once that hypothesis has been thoroughly tested to be true it is graduated to a Theory.

you almost got it right tiger. and now you know evolution is just plain TRUE. all of it.

  • You're wrong.

  • FOX news is pathetic! Joy Behar could CARE LESS about what the right wing idiots at FOX are saying about her. Everyone knows that FOX is garbage. Besides she wasn't saying that Creationism=Child Abuse. She was saying that depriving your kids of the factual evidenceof Darwinism is Child Abuse. Go Joy!!

  • God are you really that stupid Gary4Gary?. Read what you just wrote!

  • Darwinism is dogma. The reality lies somewhere in between...

  • Mike said, "There's no proof in the scientific community of Darwinism". He's absolutely correct. Darwinism is a THEORY. Every Lib I've debated has been unable to differentiate between a FACT and a THEORY and she's a prime example. They spout Theories as Facts and remove all question as to their lack of intelligence. Great vid, DF.

  • The term "theory" as applied by scientists is different to the layman's definition. It means a set of facts, an explanation; gravity is a theory, and I doubt any Christian is going to argue that gravity doesn't exist. By using the word "theory" scientists are not saying that it's unproven, which is how it has been misinterpreted by some people unfamiliar with scientific terminology.

  • Get her, Mike. Proud to say he's from my state and that dumb bitch needs to go try out the new concentration camps. I love how she hand signed a little box. That's where her mind is, in a very tiny box.

  • Stick a sock in that bitches mouth!

  • If Joy Behar had made an anti-Islam rant, she would have been suspended or fired from the show.

  • She's a feminazi hatemongering brain-dead conformist twat... so yeah, that's a synonym with left-wing extremist.

  • Rush's word is not the way of all of the people. She developed her own views through her own life. She is a sensible, caring, and compassionate mother with a great speakerbox.

  • You know whats offensive? turning the channels on the TV and having to see that fat ugly red headed bitch's mug for 2 seconds, and having to hear that shrews voice spewing this garbage is abuse to ones ears.

  • she a dumb cunt

  • She is outrageous but we shouldn't call names. It makes us no better then them to just attack the person...especially when their arguments are so weak.

  • They have a vaild argument? LOL

  • That is true...they may not even have an argument...so all the is necessary is to point that out.

No argument = ridiculous and that is the best thing to ridicule them on instead of making up names that don't prove anything.

  • JOY IS AN IDIOT

  • She is actually very intelligent but happens to have different beliefs then you. That does not equate stupidity, just a different way of life.
