Spanking aside, I can't recall a single strong male personality on any family oriented sitcom in recent years. Was Ricky Ricardo the last one? It seems they're all portrayed as fat, lazy buffoons now. It's too bad there aren't any sexy men on these shows anymore!
Tom Good from the Good Life? British sitcom from 1975-79 ish? dunno if youve come across it....i think it was called Good Neighbours when it was shown in the usa. Well Tom Good (main character) was strong and worked hard, and his wife obeyed and respected him
I've never heard of that one. Of course, I didn't mean to imply that a woman should obey her husband, but I would like to see stronger, more intelligent men on television again. Michael Landon comes to mind.
cool well i think there are some clips of it on here somewhrere. wel he was definately inteligent and a strong character, i know what you mean. today they all seem to be homer simpsons! i know, i just said the obeying thing as a reflection on Toms persoality/character
now that i think about it.. you're right! I always thought ricky was so marvelous. Even though its kinda sexist, I love those relationships where the man is in charge and just by nature, kind of treats their wife like she's a kid. XP Wish there were more like him in t.v. today.
I've recently discovered that the relationship between Maj. Nelson and Jeannie is similar to this one with her being very naive and impulsive and he's constantly having to get her and himself out of trouble. And Larry Hagman was a cutie back then!
'ricky at his sexy domineering best' well i certainly agree with that! and while im here can i jus say i always love the bits when she wipes her lipstick off him its the cutest ever! (see 5:52 as example!)
