i have a huge question for any one to answer do u have to putt he snakes through brumation when breeding, cuz honeslty that sound like a long process and i dont think i want to do that so can i just put them together and wait a few days then do every thing else properly??
i am a hobbyist and all..and i respect this dude..but..why why why would you keep and breed anacondas or any other large constrictors? Im just one of those people that thinks..leave em in the wild....its a shame how quickly habitat is disappearing..always been more of a chelonian fan..anyhoos
Your luky because if they were not tame they would be biting you more than you will ever live.Your also lucky because some animal shows wont let you have animals.Andacondas can grow up to7 ft long.I know its crazy because you will have to give it away when it gets big.I have a qwestion is your spider poisenes or not.An
You will also have to put dark paper around most of the tank. Glass tanks are ineffective in keeping the humidity levels up, unless you have a regulated room. The snakes do much better in a small tub when they're babies and juveniles.
It's actually recommended that you don't get too big of an enclosure for your Ball Python.
In the wild, the snakes spend most of the time in their own territory, where they feed, sleep, bask, and hide. They spend most of their time hiding. Whether they move around to one hiding spot to another is irrelevant, because they still spend their time hiding.
If you get a snake and want it is a large enclosure, then you're going to have to fill the enclosure up with hiding spots and fake plants so the snake will feel more secure.
bro i have 2 big snakes too and i love them to death and i would never let them go i hope u did ur research for the anacondas there great snakes just with an attitude like some people do ur thing and enjoy ur snakes and don't listing to the dumb people around u its not are fault the some people don't research first well take care bro
@sylvanadarkmyst being a owner of 2 green anacondas, that is not true, green anacondas get much bigger than yellows.yellows average 8-10 feet.green anacondas average at 14-15.
can you explane what the numbers are i see them alot just dont understand 1.1 green anacondas? 0.1 albino corn? im trying to learn as much as i can id like to breed later down the road
I love snakes but I couldn't get any thing bigger than 10ft! Your snakes are beautiful I am going to get another balled python. Soon I just don't know when and where I can go to get a healthly one at.
I love all of the people talking crap on this guy but most people don't understand that these snakes do not get as large as they do in the wild the male will get around 10-12 feet which is the same as a Burmese python which a 8 foot cage would easily hold and they are readily available.
I like the male anaconda best, he'll mature really nicely like you said with more handling, the tarantula is adorable and they definitely grow amazingly fast - mine was only a fortnight old when I got her and already was a couple of inches, I can't wait til she's fully grown.
there are actualy a few of one of a kind morphs for them. they just havnt been explored enough yet. i have a friend who is trying to get his hands on the T+albino and breed it with his anerythristic to see if a snow anaconda is possible.
dont get me wrong i LOVE big snakes but its the people making S373 that dont like them because they have to deal with all the big snakes in the wild that people used to own. if ur gonna get a big snake ESPECIALLY one that gets 30ft dont be suprised when you have nowhere to put it when its getting big enough to have a room. if that law gets passed your gonna get them taken because u have it on the internet. sorry if you took it the wrong way but to many people get a big snake then neglect it
even big snakes dont need a whole room for a cage. i would never get an animal that i could not care for in the long run. lots of people keep large snakes with no problem, its the people that dont do their research that end up letting them go. i would never let a snake go for many reasons. oh and even if that bill does pass i will still beable to keep the snakes i have, the only thing that bill will do is keep me from exporting them out of state.
alright just be prepared. and dont be on of those people that put them in a big glass cage with only heat and nothing else. i know i sound like a tree hugger but i live in florida and if i go into the forest i can find pythons... no joke. its just to many people let them go then they die. but if you have a plan then good luck i guess. =]
@jeffevens13 i'm not bashing you nor i am trying to insult your intelligence...but since when dont 15ft+ snakes need alot of room. reptiles live in the wild which consist of alot of..room. no studies show that snakes live well in tubberware, rubbermaid whatever. if i was 15ft tall i would hate to live in a 2x2x2 cardboard box. whats better giving the reptile the proper room..or giving it what you and others "think" is best?
@eric18603yankees yes snakes live in the wild which does consist of lots of room, but the wild also consists of lots of very small tight hiding places and THAT is where you will find these snakes. the only times you will see them out of their hiding places is when looking for food, a mate, or a different temperature hiding place. now in captivity if you provide all those things for them they will feel no need to come out of their hiding place.
@eric18603yankees so if i where to keep them in huge cages with room to stretch out and move around in, first off they might get stressed and stop eating because they feel out in the open and vulnerable to predators. second off if you provide a hide for them (like you should if your going to keep them in a big cage) then you will never see them come out of the hide and the huge cage is a wast of space and money
@eric18603yankees oh and one last thing. it is irrelevant to this topic that YOU wouldnt want to be in a small cage because YOU are not a snake. lol if you were a snake then you would much rather be in a smaller container. you can not just assume that these reptiles think the same way you do because they dont, they think VERY differently from humans, which is why you can keep them this way happily and humanly. =]
@eric18603yankees no because as i said before the wild does not just consist of wide open places. in the wild most snakes spend their time in tight little hiding spots that are smaller than the tubs i keep them in. but i already explained that....
@eric18603yankees snakes in the wild live about 5 years less than they do in captivity because in captivty they dont have to worry about while theyre eating some animal comes and eats them.
Very true. I might even go so far as to say that it is irresponsible to own such a snake, even if you can take care of it. They don't belong in the pet trade. In fact, anything that gets over 18 feet is outlawed in my state, and for good reason.
It's a fact, jackass. Thousands of large snakes are sold as babies every day. How many people do you know that have adults? Not near as many. What do you think happens to all those babies? They sure as hell don't go on to live full lives.
reason why is because this act is about pythons, almost everyone with a python is a ball python. also the reptile trade for snakes ( especial pythons is very important for the economy) think about it, how many people died in the US from pythons? and how many pets died? hell, dumbass dogs getting hit by cars die more often. they might do what they do in canada, maximum size for a snake is 9ft, 7ft for lizards
Anaconda. Nice. Or should I say "how irresponsible". I hope you and your anaconda endure long enough for it to get loose and eat your first born child. Anaconda. STUPID!
very nice anacondas. love the rich coloring on them! good luck with them...hope u post more vids of them as they grow! just wondering what r u planning on keeping them in when they are full grown...would a larger then noram plastic bin thing work? or r u gonna keep them in glass tanks?
oh i got cha now! lol normal ball pythons usually go for about $15-$20 for babies, im not sure on full grown ones because ive never looked into buying big ones. but if i had to guess i would say probably like $60, maybe more for a female.
i just know from word of mouth. look up "herp world expo" , "reptile super show" , and "NARBC reptile expo" for more info on where and when these local reptile expos are.
dude i love those anacondas there beautiful. what snake would you recommend for me i have never had a snake always wanted one but never had the chance i do have experience with reptiles because i used to have a bearded dragon. I have been thinking something on the lines of maybe an albino corn snake a python or boa what do you think would be good for me??? oh and anybody know a good place to get snakes in South Florida??
if you have never had a snake before then a corn snake would be a great first snake for you! or if you want a kind of python then ball pythons are a great choice as well. or if you want something that gets a little bigger then a red tail boa would be a good snake as long as you get it from a baby so you can learn as it grows. just make sure you do tons of research before you get anything, read through forums ask lots of questions, and dont just ask one person its good to get lots of opinions.
yea thank you man... know any good forums you can recommend to me? im also going to a big reptile show here on the 19th try and gather some information. but man you have some beautiful snakes whenever your ready to breed your bumble bee let me know maybe by then ill have some more experience...
thats a baby omg yeah i got bit by my new ball python and there was bumps around it i think its just there saliva reacting with your blood like the vid
ya but cheep probably means its wild caught or it has problems or is very aggressive. be careful who you buy from. and do you even know how you are going to care for it? have you done any kind of proper research on keeping large snakes?
well if your dad is willing to help you handle it and you get it from a baby then i dont see why you couldnt get one. =] and it sounds like he has experience with large snakes so thats a plus! just make sure you and your dad both do lots of research before you get anything! like do you know where you will get large prey items to feed it when it gets big? and they can be kinda picky eaters, would you know what to do if yours ends up being pick?
i use to have a burmese when i was nine well it was my dads but i use to carry it around i got to feed it a frozen rabbit 3 times but that was when we lived in long beach we moved now so my dad gave it away to my uncle but still see it i not sure how big it was my dad said almost ten ft we kept it in the garage my dad made a big cage for it. now i am 12 and and we moved again so now my dad is going to let me have a snake and were thinking about a green ana
hmm im not to sure a green anaconda would be the best choice for someone so young (no offence). how involved would your dad be in helping you with one (if you get one)?
once again sorry about not replying earlier. and no, im not going to sell one of them because i plan to breed them when they get bigger. yes i live in CA. have you kept any other kind of large snake before? =]
cool how much were your green anas i am trying so hard to get one i really want 1 i was going to go to the reptile super but i didn't because i didn't think they would have some anas
I may of heard wrong but i think you said that is what and how you are keeping him. And that is not a very good setup. You should get a smaller deli cup or one of those viles to keep slings in, and put substrate in there and keep it there. That cage with just some substrate is baad. It is best to keep slings in smaller containers anyways.
snakes dont really need a huge cage. so probably an 8 ft long by 4ft wide by 18 inches tall home made cage. you might think thats too small but even if you were to put them in a huge room size cage they would just curl up in the corner anyway.
you are the best

well if your dad is willing to help you handle it and you get it from a baby then i dont see why you couldnt get one. =] and it sounds like he has experience with large snakes so thats a plus! just make sure you and your dad both do lots of research before you get anything! like do you know where you will get large prey items to feed it when it gets big? and they can be kinda picky eaters, would you know what to do if yours ends up being pick?
im 18. =] ya im kinda tall im like 6'2'' lol!
jeffevens13 2 years ago
i use to have a burmese when i was nine well it was my dads but i use to carry it around i got to feed it a frozen rabbit 3 times but that was when we lived in long beach we moved now so my dad gave it away to my uncle but still see it i not sure how big it was my dad said almost ten ft we kept it in the garage my dad made a big cage for it. now i am 12 and and we moved again so now my dad is going to let me have a snake and were thinking about a green ana

Also, You shouldn't leave crickets in the cage with Ts. They should be removed over night or within a couple hours.
12345Matt54321 2 years ago
LP
Brazilian Salmon Pink
Lasiodora parahybana
Also, That cage for the LP is WAY too big.
I will send you a video of some of my Tarantulas.
12345Matt54321 2 years ago
cool thanks alot! but ya i didnt have anything els to keep him in so its just temporary.
jeffevens13 2 years ago
I may of heard wrong but i think you said that is what and how you are keeping him. And that is not a very good setup. You should get a smaller deli cup or one of those viles to keep slings in, and put substrate in there and keep it there. That cage with just some substrate is baad. It is best to keep slings in smaller containers anyways.
But Awesome Condas man

jeffevens13 2 years ago
Whats your plans for the caging for the anacondas?
justin21xx 2 years ago 2
snakes dont really need a huge cage. so probably an 8 ft long by 4ft wide by 18 inches tall home made cage. you might think thats too small but even if you were to put them in a huge room size cage they would just curl up in the corner anyway.
