This is so beautiful. Tim's voice has so much depth and emotion. Also the song lyrics themselves are wonderful. This is happening everywhere, and it really wakes people up.
Punk rock has taught me more than a figure of authority ever has. The crowds help each other and the songs promote diversity. This does not happen with a hierarchy or government in charge. This is a thank you to all Punk musicians for teaching me the values that everyone should have.
Ive listened to Bad religion, and personally I think Rise Against are just generally better. Rise against are the pinnacle of modern punch rock (not saying old punk is bad.)
I hate this, but thumbing this up would give more attention the band that caused Rise Against to even exist, because unfortunately, many many radio Rise fans do not even know the biggest Punk band in history and inarguably the Gods (ironic?) of modern Punk rock, killing it since 1979.
@AlmostaFlipinSkater Let's not forget Minor Threat, Black Flag/Circle Jerks, Fugazi, Sick Of It All and many others.. But yeah, Bad Religion is amongst my favorites. Greg's a brilliant man, I highly recommend reading his books aswell, they've definitly made me look at the world in a new perspective.
Rise Against used to be my favorite when Revolutions Per Minute came out. Now with the release of Appeal to Reason and Endgame, and the fact that they only play songs dating as far back as Sufferer (except 1 Fat Wreck song and give it All/ Swing Life Away), it's hard to call them my favorite. Sad though cause I grew up listening to them since 2003 and Rpm is the best album ever. I despise Savior. It's the most overrated song ever. It doesn't even sound like them
@AlmostaFlipinSkater see, that's what i've been telling everyone. they haven't been the same since like '03. RPM was, and probably always will be, their best album.
I also highly enjoyed Siren Song and Sufferer, but Appeal was just...bad. Endgame was better, but of course, it's the worst/radio songs on Endgame that everyone knows. Survivor Guilt, a Gentlemen's Coup and Endgame are badass songs tho and I wish they'd play those songs live instead of Help is on the Way (which is a bland version of Torches and Under the Knife) and Make it Stop (atleast it has a good message)
@AlmostaFlipinSkater Bad Religion was a big punk band but it wasn't the biggest in history. you would have to say it was the Sex Pistols and the Clash from the UK punk movement.
@xCycloneNoah2 How about the Ramones? Buzzcocks? Crass? Refused? Dead Kennedys? Operation Ivy/Rancid? Bad Brains? Misfits? Minutemen? Stooges? Husker Dü? I could keep on going. But there just is no "biggest". They're all great bands. I don't care how big or small they are, I care about the music they make.
This song grew on me extremely quickly

"There's seven people dead
On a south Dakota farm
Somewhere in the distance
There's seven new people born."
Just shows that this goes on and on.

@Rougethegothbat I love lyrics like these. Unlike the typical mainstream soundtrack to the unconscious mind.

@kunschner Lol, I think you mean subconscious, bro. Unless they are actually not conscious.

@keyhl12 I meant unconscious, because today's younger generations can't think for them selves.

In my opinion, the best punk bands ever are (in no particular order) NOFX, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Fugazi, and the Circle Jerks.
