You know what's a funny thing.

How Lars was very consistent and quite tight back then.

Even if he wasn't the most technical or fancy, he did all these cool fills, the same as the albums or had this live thing he would do.

Ever since the last 10 years he just seems to kind of improvise on the spot and mess things up.

Even the switch of this classic drumkit to the one he played from mid-90s and on made change in his style and approach.

Seems like he got bored with the creative part...

Personally, S&M is just as heavy if not heavier.

The sound is fuller, the music is richer with the orchestra.

I mean... "Thingy" is heavy and raw on this show, but S&M's "Thingy" is even more disturbed and insane and heavy.

@vileksi92 is not better than someone who knows how to play drums, lars apply dishes, hit a hat rarely open and double bass that sometimes you hear sometimes not hear, he improvises well even though technically it's more of it, its worth is that metallica has good guitar riffs and some basic strokes drummer gives a good effect throughout the song ... but if we want real technique just see Dave Lombardo, Charlie Benante, Paul Bostaph, Mike Mangini, drummer of Soulfly, etc ...
