all trucks are left in neutral, the air brakes are set and that is what holds a truck. Leaving a truck that has been running in gear is bad news, Trucks have been known to start back up even when the ignition is off. diesels dont run on spark like gas motors do. However, I seen a guy do that in Mountain Home, ID (forgot to set the parking brake and it rolled from the fuel island into the building (pilot)

Actually, I have seen this video elsewhere. If memory serves, the driver didn't set his brakes before leaving the truck, and it worked up quite a bit of speed before hitting the vehicles.
