  • What goes on in Mississippi ?? They have to ask permission for their date and what they can wear ? This makes no sense .. The only restrictions we had was no one over the age of 20..

  • I'm a Christian, and (as many people already know) that means that I do not agree with homosexuality and that lifestyle. HOWEVER, I respect Constance for standing up for something she believes in. People who don't like homosexuality just because "it ain't right" isn't good enough anymore. If a gay is to realize what's wrong with homosexuality, back it up with what GOD says in the Bible. Since the administration failed to do that, Constance had no choice but to stand against it. Kudos to her.

  • @MerichelSwan92 So if the administration had quoted the bible, it would have been OK to discriminate against her?

  • @MerichelSwan92 this is why christian people are disliked so much. god is supposed to love all his children, just because someone is BORN and sexually prefer someone of the same gender they are sinners and will go to hell? I dont want to believe in a god who discriminates. SEXUALITY IS NOT A CHOICE

  • we had no rule about what kind of dates we brought ... we could go with who we want to .. no matter what gender or age..

  • Wow where is the liberty andJustice huh???? You know you should just change the pledge! I mean really Srop saying oh yeah this is a free country! Where uis our freedom huh??!!!!!!!!

  • i have an extremely close family from from louisiana whom died in afghan fighting for our freedom tht this school is not honoring.... i HATE it. they should just accept her for whom she is and i agree with ellen... they should just accept her for who she is not hate her basically it. she should just worry about making herself happy and not give a fuck what other people think just because she's not who they want her to be! i fucking hate that shit the worst out of anything!!!

  • @bunnyluvswolf yh my dad died in Afghanistan to and I hate how people still refuse to give people the freedom they deserve for stupid reasons

  • This girl's got GUTS!!!

  • 4 OF U ARE HATERS AND FREEKS

  • Not to be an ass, but what did she even do to deserve a $30,000 scholarship? She didn't even do anything, other than getting discriminated against.

  • @ValtronW What she did was speak up. She didn't have to fight back or hold her ground. She used her voice to make this discrimination known.

  • @ValtronW It's not really about what she did, but proving that a lot of people support her, and that when discrimination like this occurs, there will always be people to stand up for what's right.

  • I just can't get over this girl- she's so firetrucking awesome. = D

  • Oh, and there is a town in Mississippi who, before 2008, was holding separate proms for Whites and Blacks .Yes, you heard that right. I read somewhere that certain places still do that. What the fuck is wrong with these towns? Like I said in my last comment I live in TN, and people are fucked up here, but not this bad. There is a documentary about the separate proms (Morgan Freeman is in it), and it is so sad how in this day and age Racism & Homophobia are still so much alive.

  • @x0x0ke Try living in the SE part of Ky.. I didn't even see a black person until I was in 3rd grade and I didn't know any better and I went to the teacher and asked why she was so dirty.. the teacher replied, "it's because she's black." I went home and told my mom what happened and she had to explain to me that she wasn't dirty.. Everyone here hates homosexuals and any other race besides white people.

  • @1bigbluenation I've actually been to SE Kentucky, so I can only imagine how hard it is! While the rest of the US (for the most part) is accepting of Minorities, and Gays we're still living around people who think it's 1920! I hate living here, so I can only imagine how difficult it is up there. At least you have a good Mom who explained to you that she was not dirty, I know some parents who would say "Yes, she is!" I never can understand why a human would hate another human...

  • @1bigbluenation (cont) because of the color of their skin, or what their sexual preference is. Another one I encounter is religion. I'm totally excepting of other religions, but I think I'm about the only person in my city that is! Basically it seems if you're not exactly like the racist (and homophobes), then you're a horrible, disgusting person, but I would never want to be like them. It really is sad! I can't wait to get out of school, and leave this area! :(

  • @1bigbluenation Also, go Wildcats! I hate the Volunteers, haha.

  • @x0x0ke Well if you know where Corbin is that's where I live.. It's nothing but a bunch of rich white people, who all go to southern baptist church and talk about everyone who isn't like them. I'm a little different too. I have videos on here if you type Vanessa Denham in the search you will see. Yes, I cage fight. Soo.. I'm considered a violent lesbian to most people that I don't know. It's pathetic how something that is cool can be turned around in a small town to be something terrible. Idk

  • @x0x0ke Oh yes GOOOO CATTSSS!!!!!

  • @x0x0ke Oh yes GOOOO CATTSSS!!!!!

  • I live in Tennessee, and the town is probably less conservative then where she lives. There is so much hate going on especially in schools. People are complete homophobes, and if they aren't they still won't stand up for whats right. A lot of people just turn the other cheek. I'm not saying all Southern Towns are like this (Knoxville is close, and most people there ARE excepting), but a lot of these kids grow up in houses where "being gay is wrong", that's what they are taught. :(

  • Thats insane there was all kinds if gays in my school, everyone just pretty much acted normal, wish u would of went to my school!!

  • Constance is not to blame; the school is. The settlement is important because the school discriminated against her and they need to never do it again.

  • i just wish i was in America and going to that school, i would stand on to of a table with a microphone and say "who is pissed at Constance? All of you who put up your hands are pathetic. If you all rally up together and complain to the principal not only would you get you're prom back Constance would have the right to go also." then stomp my way to the principal and say "I'm sorry sir but i am only 15 and i am more mature than you, i thought this was a free country? and then everyone is happy

  • @SuperHotpinkrose you obviously dont like things you cant understand :(

  • and i can also understand the other students being mad, cause they were allowing her to go as long as she didnt kiss (or slow dance) with the date, but if she couldve went with that under those terms EVERYONE would be able to go, including her and her friend.(I wonder if the prom remained caneled, does any1 know) n that was nice they gave her the scholarship, i know her dad LOVED that

  • they shouldve just not let her and her gf in, why cancel it for everyone else? an i can understand how they wouldnt want them kissing in front of every1 else, cause lots of people will feel uncomfortable an if the children tell their parents, the parents will complain an that will cause problems for the school. But any school i went to wouldve allowed it so im wondering where this school is located

  • constance is not to blame! that stupid school is the enemy! what school would be so fucked up they would ban her from attending promjust cause she's gay and wants to bring her girlfriend as a date. i cant imagine any school being that fucked up! constance deserves better then that!

  • Aren't there laws against discrimination? Why are we even here? But I do understand the other kids frustration. It's messed up but hey...

  • American history is constitutionalized upon institutionalized racism, sexism and homophobia, which unfortunatly still holds strong traces today!

  • I don't think she destroyed anyone's prom. The administration did that, their decision. They could have let her go. If no one made a big deal out of it, it would probably have gone by.

  • you stand up for your rights girl

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts ummm it sounds to me like you are against Gays and btw all truly religious people are against gays bcoz they use the same excuse that thats not the way god wanted it to be and they have the nerve to tell them god doesn't love them... So shut up and get a life stupid hater...

  • that was wrong to cancel the prom..seniors are going to leave and they deserve 2 have one last memory

  • DIVA!

  • @OceanicMetal That's not how you spell Gandhi, my friend.

  • wow i don't know what i would do if i seen two lesbian couples at prom.

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts Uh.... How about do nothing? What's your problem?

  • @faeriegeek Its just not right and i think she is a total bitch for ruining everyone's prom because she couldn't bring her girlfriend. Schools have rules and students need to follow those rules. I do not feel sorry for her is one of those students whooped her ass.

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts You really should have a more open mind. Regardless of your religious beliefs or whatever reason you have for being against gay relationships, this girl and any other gay person is just that. A person. People deserve to have equal rights and that school did not deserve a prom if they thought it was okay to exclude someone for simply wanting to bring the person she loves which is what every other student is allowed to do. This violated her constitutional right.

  • @faeriegeek I'm not against gay people. Schools have rules and students need to follow those rules. Also not all religious people are against gay people. Like i said before i hope she got her ass whooped for ruining everyone prom just because she is a bitch and wanted shit to go her way. Thats an asshole move and all she wants is fucking attention.

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts This girl is not a bitch! The school rules were ridiculous and NEEDED to be protested. Because she did this, much needed attention has been brought to the issue of homosexual discrimination. Who the hell cares about the other students?! They should have been on Constance's side about this and protested the prom themselves! This situation was just not right. People who sit on their ass and say "it is how it is" and do NOTHING to try and make the world better make me sad.

  • @faeriegeek She is a bitch to me. She ruined everyone's prom.

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts If it is a public school, and all the parents are paying taxes for it, the cannot discriminate against a student for any reason, Race, color, religion, sexual orientation- all are non-negotiable in terms of discrimination in a public.

  • @cdwadams Discrimination laws are not in all 50 states against gay or lesbian people. Her state might not have any laws that protect glbt people from Discrimination.

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts You are correct, which makes Constance's fight all the more important, & in need of support.

  • @BeautifulLoveHearts I am so sad for you. God Bless.

  • When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist.When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists,I did not speak out;I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews,I remained silent;

I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

  • @cdwadams that was so lame. I heard that shit before. Don't copy and paste. Idiot.

  • we should of gotten rid of mississippi a while ago

  • Lucky girl, lesbians have it soooo easy.

  • Not being allowed into prom because of your sexual orientation or choice of dressing? I thought America was a free country.

  • @monstahhh12 i guess not Rosa Parks story all over again

  • @OceanicMetal Not just lesbians, for God's sake. Some gays are actually male, in case you forgot.

  • Constance, I admire your courage.

  • My high school allows two girls to go together as dates, meaning signing up as dates and everything, yet two guys can't go together. I am a guy. I am gay. Why can't I go to prom with a date. I can tell you right now, with the people in my school, I'd never find someone to go to prom with, but shouldn't I have the option if I was ever to get the chance? It's just not fair.

  • @GothicBlood1996 Yeah...I'm sorry. That doesn't even make any sense...why would they not allow two guys together but let two girls? >.<

  • lol Nice and pretty girl. She is so shy and got so surprised when she recieved the money hahaha That it's so great. Keep on O/ Kisses from Brazil

  • the bible says: hatee the sin not the sinner so I've learned to except what people think and do!:D

  • shes an inspiration

  • the new Rosa Parks! Kinda
