I'm 44 years old, working as a municipal board secretary in a provincial town in the Philippines. I long dream of working and migrating in NZ. May I ask, does NZ have opportunities for guys of my age?
@mrpablo Thank you both this video and your website. What demand is there in New Zealand for electricians, organic farmers, and carpenters? I'm most interested in the more sparsely populated South Island.
I am a student of earth sciences, especially geology and geophysics, in the Netherlands. I was wondering if you could inform me about my career opportunities and the chances of me being allowed to move to the wonderful New Zealand? Any help would be very much appreciated.
Well, NZ is one of the best option to retire but not for young and mid-age people as the pay rate is not good enough. Really hard to find a job and its quite expensive. Australia is a great option as the pay rate is really good. Please compare the average pay rate before decide to move. Visiting a doctor after 5 pm cost around $75 and average earning of a person is $450 per week so not a great option.
It is a place for vacation, not for career. They have one of the highest unemployment there but they don't easily accept new comers even plentiful of kiwis leaving the country.
There are a lot of hidden staff you should know before coming. First, Nz only hire Nz qualification people, and Nz experience. besides, they will go according to citizen,Pr status, then to work permit holder. If you are skilled, they expect you to start from ground 0.
This is great to show my husband. We are from the US and we love our country, but to be honest its going to hell in a handbasket and we dont want our family to go down with it. Looking for somewhere safer and more...I guess relaxed is a good enough word. So far out of all the research we have done, including looking into places we didnt even know existed before, New Zealand seems to be the best fit for us so far. No clue how to go about immigrating yet, but looking into it and cant wait!
@gingergrl88 It would be great to have you here in New Zealand. If you would like to see how easy it would be immigrate to New Zealand please visit our homepage.
@gingergrl88 I am thinking in a similar way to you. I am currently a university student studying, and I can not see myself living in the states my life. Society is going to shambles here and I do now want to have a part in it. Hopefully, I can move there after finishing school and gathering 1-2 years of experience.
@Mickyinaustralia sorry for the late reply, real estate agents are not in demand. However property managers, and real estate sales representative with New Zealand licences are among the skills desired by Immigration New Zealand. If you secure a job offer with a salary of more than $45,000 you are good to go.
@mrpablo Yes, there is a very good chance. Veterinarians are on the long-term skill shortage list. We would recommend you go to our website and complete an assessment form.
