I dont see a problem with using presets and modifying them accordingly. Programmers don't start from scratch each time, too and build on existing work. It only makes progression faster, without making the outcome any worse.

I've been making a trance track in key 'A', however you recommended C Minor, but the track is almost finished and have been converting your tips, is there any particular rule of thumb for the choir notes, should they be similar to the chords/strings?
