  • TO THIS DAY THIS ARRANGEMENT IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENTS I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE; IT’S SHORT AND YET IT’S POWERFULLY PROFOUND; BILL CONTI IS A GENIUS!

  • i feel like i could apply rocky to every single thing in my life.

  • @wildstylelg me too, I was even born in philly

  • I have many soundtracks for the Rocky saga, but there are lots of songs I am missing such as this one, which I wouldn't have thought about, it is truely amazing!

  • anyone else crying

  • @mrbossai1 i cryied too...

  • My Lord what I would do to live in the 70s and 80s. This is just incredible.

  • When you hear those first slow, unsteady chords as they're leaving Paulie's house for their date, or when Adrian ambles up those steps to Rocky's apartment - how can you not root for them to connect?

    Beautiful moments; perfect music...

  • Conti is GOD!!!

  • Last week I had a date with a really pretty girl, and this was the only song I could think of. Man, Rocky is always present in my life

  • @5aintLink Dats good bro are u still with her

  • This gives me the CHILLS!!!

  • wonderful song

  • love it

  • so soft.... just like their love. Delicate as a flower.

  • @liberator1986 my opinion is that rocky is NOT a movie about boxing, more a triumph of the underdog movie

if you want a boxing movie go watch raging bull...

    agreed?

  • @billabongodrum Rocky is indeed a movie about boxing, of course, but it's about much more than just boxing. It's primarily about honor, initiative, self-respect.... In other words, it's about everything that today's cognoscenti seek to destroy.

  • @Jitpring Good Point....And you know something that is great irony? The first ROCKY was made with a very very LOW Budget....The movie itself was an Underdog that became a Champion and perhaps only in my opinion, the greatest movie of ALL TIME. That my friends is AMERICA. Anyone can do it.

  • @djmyers71 I'm on board with you, except in your penultimate sentence I'd substitute "was" for "is." I also have to reject the egalitarianism embedded in your last sentence. But other than those things, I'm with you!

  • so most beautiful....

  • Bill Conti is a genius.

  • da bes piano i eva heard

  • Outstanding movie. Beyond words, even the music, inspires the heart. What Rocky did for me and how i connected with everything in those movies, whether it be relating to my life, or anything, it always gave me the extra "umph" so to speak to do it. To show me that dreams are real, life is hard, but you have to pick yourself up and move forward. Bravo.

That's what I say to those who think Rocky is just a movie about boxing.

  • traurige Melodie aber sie ist trotzdem schön ...

  • Yes Bill Conti's work on the first two movies is genius. Really sets the tone. I used to have the Rocky I soundtrack on vinyl. I wish I could find it. Had Rocky II on tape but that got destroyed as most old cassettes do. I love Rocky I (who doesn't) and II (mixed opinion on this one). I'm 37 and I know people in their 20s all seem to love Rocky IV, I don't. Not only is it over the top corny but the Survivor soundtrack is so cheezy, especially when compared to Conti's classy work from I & II.

  • I totally agree. I can understand some of my friends who like it (and III) just as cheesy 80's movie naustalgia- but they aren't even in the same league as Rocky I. II was at least a serious attempt at a sequel, and wasn't bad- the rest are really just comedy...

  • Balboa (6) was very good.

  • Amen on Rocky IV. Obivously Stallone's money push and political statement era.

Rocky I is classic and "Million Dollar Baby" confirms it's greatness. Neither movie leaps out atcha'. They just ooze into something special. The acting in Million Dollar exceeds Rocky, but the love story, soundtrack, and tone of the original puts it right there with Eastwood's movie. The Rocky character has been parodied for years. But imitation IS the sincerest form, right?

  • million dollar will NEVER EVER exceed what the first rocky makes you feel EVER

  • amen to that brother..

  • AGREED!!!!

  • @RTKFAM so true

  • @RTKFAM

yeah but it was a damn good movie too. I cant wait to see Mark Walberg play Mickey Ward

  • The main theme song has been recorde by the likes of Maynard Ferguson and ha ve sounded great. But there's nothing like the original. It's just classic. Conti's turn in "The Right Stuff" just validates his greatness.

Rocky 1 and "Balboa" are the perfect bookends. No one thought Stallone could pull off either, but he did. I love that he took the character full circle. Greatness.

  • @roquey44

Please don't also forget one of Conti's greatest themes too..... Gloria and especially the final scene in slow motion

  • well said sir, well said

  • two lost souls connect just with a look, fascinating part of the movie. It humanized the whole picture and made you care about both of them.

  • @peloton50

and it destroyed even a man's heart when the two lost souls got disconnected again....

  • @peloton50 I could'nt have said it better myself, well said. It's also my all-time favorite movie.

  • talia shire is alive and well, doood.

  • one of my favourite original soundtracks, along "an unmarried woman"

  • This is my favorite Bill Conti song! I love it! So sad, though. But I love it!!

  • massive töne - jurasta park

  • ''Is this a face ya could trust ? someday they're gonna put this face on a stamp , you know what i'm sayin' ?'' Rip Adrian balboa..

  • I've used that line before on a girl!

  • haahahahaa XD really?? thats fantastic. god i love these movies, indeed rip adrian

  • What happened to Adrian?

  • dood she died of "woman cancer" as rocky likes to call it. thats why she wasnt in Rocky 6.

  • Oh, okay. I didn't even know that, 'preciate it.

  • Not in real life though.

  • YEA SHE DID A GEICO COMMERCIAL.

  • damn nice soundtrack !!! IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR YEARS !

  • CONTI CAN SURE TUG AT YOUR EMOTIONS!

  • I know! He's a freakin' genius! When you listen to his music you get a taste of Italy and Philadelphia!

  • Oh is that what they call sex these days. I'm old

  • This is the most beautiful soundtrack to one of the best movies ever.

  • Agree! I think this song is the best from the film/album!

  • witch scene is this track from again?

  • It was when Rocky and Adrian go on there first date and Rocky invites Adrian into his house and they kiss for the first time its really really well put together!
