  • Was being part of the Spanish empire really beneficial to the people of the Philippines? Being part of someone elses empire isn't always a good thing, but from what I see Filipinos would have been better off under British rule. They wouldn't have forced you to change your religion or customs and would have allowed the natives some autonomy, and protection under British style rule of law. Although not a British colony, but a protectorate, Hawaii is still happy with it's British associations.

  • A nonsense? More than one million Filipinos killed by the Yankees in a few years? The Old City of Manila and its monuments destroyed by American bombing during the Second World War? That was much worse than 300 years of Spanish colonization.

  • @godam999: My own home town and city of Caloocan was a victim of the 'Yankees' reign of terror in 1899 when almost all the inhabitants of this city was massacred without mercy by them. They also destroyed much of what was Caloocan City then leaving only the centuries old church which still stands even today (now the San Roque Cathedral of the Diocese of Caloocan).

  • @philclassic

The Filipinos were betrayed by the Yankees. Spain could not much longer maintain the colonies and would have had to leave the Philippines anyway. The intervention of the United States was a bloodbath, delayed several decades thef independence of this country and created puppet governments.

  • Filipinos, you are more Hispanics than you can ever Hispanic suspect. Infortunatelly, the history and The United States have separated the common core to which you belong.

    Very beautiful song.

  • @godam999 :Yes, after 300 years under Spain thru Mexico. But Filipinos nowadays prefers to be "American" than "Hispanic".

  • I want to learn Spanish now.

  • Love it

  • Photographers of yesteryears, before the digicam, have a way of making still picture alive even if it is in sepia color and the absence of digital special effects of today. I'm amazed you have this picture collections, moreso the music.

  • You're all welcome...

There was a typo.. at 1:27, the correct Spanish word is "AMA" but I wrote "ALMA" instead. My apologies...

  • Many thanks to Alfonso 'Fonsucu' Velázquez for the correction. Maybe I should repost the video with the correct lyrics...what do you think? But all the previous comments would be lost...

  • Its ok.

  • Maraming salamat muli. Sinunod ko na ang payo ninyo.

  • Certificado Intergaláctica! Yo soy los ojos llorosos. Me trae recuerdos. Gracias! Hu, hu, hu ...
