Love this temporary transition in his character. The black Hulk Hogan which unleashes his viscious evil side, but still remaining a face.

Not many people remember this. Reminds me a little bit of the Vince McMahon dark side around 1993 which also many people don't know about when the WWF invaded the USWA. Or the Billy Graham dark side Martial arts gimmick transition.

In 1995, Hulk Hogan had been feuding with The Dungeon of Doom, but after The Giant debuted and attacked him, Hogan started wearing all black and stayed clean shaven after DOD shaved off his mustache. He was basically showing how serious he was by doing this. He would go back to wearing red & yellow just in time for the first World War 3 PPV where the vacant WCW title was up for grabs.

WCW was IMO testing the waters for Hogan as a heel with all the Darkside stuff since he was being a tweener.
