  • I do not understand some of your comments. Carmelites began after Essences. They were a group that lived in caves, who lived to a set rule. No evidence that Jesus was part of Essences at all. St Teresa and St John of the Cross, set to bring the Carmelites back to their roots under the Rule of St Albert. Casey? the medium?

  • I pretty much addresses all those issues. Further study will show that the original Carmelites started during the time of Elijah....he was from Carmel, just coincidence that his group was called the Carmelites?

  • It is true that the basis for the Carmelites comes from Elijah, however no related linage exists nor has ever been claimed. They began as lay people who like Saint Francis lived secluded, in caves, but again no linage not even claimed by themselves to the Essences. Persecution threatened and they moved to Europe. The first Rule was written by St Albert. This Rule and a new Order was approved by the Pope, in the same way as Franciscians were. Then it seems the Rule was relaxed, hence a reform
