We have studied this BRT scheme as part of my MSc in Transport & Planning. I think it's an absolutely fantastic system from what I have read and seen across academic literature, websites and videos such as this one. Brazil should be proud of this, given the fact that we in the UK are incapable of actually setting a (successful) BRT scheme up over here!

This self-promotion has brought many people from other areas who,believed to find better conditions in Curitiba, were actually mistaken and deceived by this self promotion marketing which does not convey to the reality. This fact has really contributed to increase the number of slums and violence across the city suburbs, where the problems really exist!
O nome da cidade é tão feio que o time com seu nome trocou o CUritiba por CORITIBA. A cidade é fria, tanto o clima como o povo. Lá não se tem nada para fazer, a não ser passar frio e raiva. Não tem METRÔ e eles dizem que não faz falta (mentira). É falta de capacidade mesmo, pois racista como o curitibano é, e cagão, não aceita concorrencia profissional de migrantes. Daí o pior lugar do Brasil para se trabalhar também. CU ritiba. NÃO VÁ.

Not in my experience, i use it everyday 2 buses to get work and 2 more to get back home, if i get to the terminal about 20 minutes earlier than my regular schedule i can make my trip sitting down.
The problem is that some people have to be at work by 8 AM and they leave home at 7:30 and expect it all to work out, that's called being stupid.
