I had to pleasure of meeting these men before they recorded A Million to One in Wydanch New York, my brother (James (Jimmy) Lott sang with them in 1969-1970. I can't remember what they called themselves at that time but they performed at different nightclubs on the Island. I was not old enough to go see them but I can remember them coming to the house, they were good then.
Like all music from the unparalleled 70's ,this song has a powerful message .......JUST LISTEN ........It can help you avoid some unnecessary and difficult times . Life is about "living and learning " . Somethings can be learned without experiencing them . As more mature people we should be talking to those younger folks ..........WHO WILL LISTEN !!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this song! Everyone can relate to this song! Listening to these words at 4am and everything makes sense! My stupidity! My lies! My hurtful words! What seemed to be a sense of incompatability was actually my insecurities! Now I am here, sleepless, lonely, empty and hollow. Lost the only person that would put up with my foolishness! Now I am unable to find my soul again! Soulless with out you! Just come back to me! Miami is cold without you!!!!!
yeah i do kinda miss u, but then i remember how yo ass older than me & u still doing dumb shit we were doing in our 20's! so i got 2 keep pushing, but i can't lie...i kinda miss u.

Great song i was in High School 10th grade when this song came out such a beautiful song thee words are heavy I watched my older brothers sometimes sit in the living room and play this song for hours after a breakup i mean for hours this song would play on and on.....REAL
Only Gerald Alston can sing this.........he was,and still is amazing, even though he's no longer with The Manhattans,he still makes beautiful music. He musta been their lead singer for close to 35 years.
