  • At least they are targeting foreign wagons too...about time we had some revenge on the continentals who have been fleecing us for donkeys years.

  • Hello Heavyhaulage,

I used to deliver to EBREX,but now the loads going to an other Haulage in Leicester.

  • you have every right to be a little pissed off, i would be too. they are usually a bunch of miserable bastards too.

  • Where In burntwood do you deliver?

  • Absolutely useless scummy b*****ds who's one and only mission is to cost honest hard working law abiding citizens out of there pittance of a salary. Cops can be bad these guys make cops look like angels. If they were animals they'd be put down!!!

  • Vosa mostly do lorrys and vans cops do cars. but Vosa can and most of the time are there when cops pull over cars. and Vosa are sh#t. but all lorry drives no this. :-)

  • Is it only for lorries? Never heard that they would pull a standard car for checks?

  • I got pulled last year up at Newcastle during the night didn't know I had a brake problem

And yes I did do my checks every time I was braking one trailer tyre was locked on didn't know I got a prohibition but I could still drive on my way

  • Know what you mean. I am regulary stop'd by the B.A.G. In Germany. Off to Bielefeld on Wednesday. See if i can get a stress free run.

  • Why should you follow a vehicle that does not have blue/ red lights?????? should i follow a tractor sho's in a left lane then too?

  • Hello,

You arent fully right .Had last time a look in a unlocked vosa car that turns up after reading my no. Plate.

It show if you are a good or bad driver, when your last check was and in the further menu you can look at all last checks you had and if there are were any problems.

Althought everything was alright I was stoped two weeks ago ( see last comment) and the day before yesrerday in dover.

It seem that the vosa staff trying to get money for they christmas bonuses ;-)

  • Been pulled out again today at Crick near Daventry. The female officer claimed that my tacho dont work properly.Had to pay 60pound and got an prohibition notice.Pulled to a workshop where they confirmed that my tacho and the charts were ok.a second examiner confirmed after 4hours!!! that the female officer was wrong and everything was ok as usual.it was just a shame for vosa and didnt get my money back, have to claime it now in swansea.

Vosa, spend some money on training-I do...

  • @Englandtrucker glad to see you were proved right and vosa wrong, injustice that your fine wasn't returned there and then. hope you eventually get your money back. safe journies.

  • And as on the last 50 checks, everything ok as it have to be.

  • I can only repeat that my view is that checks are ok too-in general and if they are fair.

But Vosa please use your anpr-system.

And strangely-last wednesday i arrived at the dover docks,in front of me a real scrappy romanian lorry there you could hear the airleaks from his trailer whilst driving behind him.

And now guess who was pulled out at the newly refurbished checkpoint at the docks, whilst the other was crawling the m20 up with a black cloud coming from his wrecky truck-me.

    And as on the

  • @Englandtrucker The ANPR system does not tell them what your tachograph says, or tell them the condition of your truck. Hence why they randomly stop trucks.

  • Its a worrying fact that foreign lorries break the law in england. Its mainly the eastern europeans that seem to break the law. I know its a pain getting pulled. I was pulled today in Chester. It took 3hrs but they didnt find anything

  • Its done for a reason, its proven that alot of foreign vehicles are not kept in good working order, and are dangerous, VOSA are just trying to make british roads safer. (I dont work for VOSA) I just understand why they do it.

  • I can see the need behind check points, unsafe trucks and over tired drivers are a problem on many countries roads.

If you do feel you are being unfairly treated, keep a diary of dates and times your pulled over, note any comments made by officers and how long it takes. Also note how many times something is not found, it should be apparant if they pull you over because your a foreigner.

Once you have enough evidence/notes, then complain on the account of racism.

  • Don't agree fully. In Bavarian Part of Germany yes,and I met there some cops that treated me (im from the Hessen Part of Germany) as a stupid foreigner.

But in other parts they stoping more Germans (thats statisticly prooved) because they dont like the language problems. And its easier to explain to someone who speaks your language that he has to pay a fine than someone who can hardly read the road signs

And to the other comment-yes thats right with the stickers-but as we keep our fleet to the b

  • They do target foreign trucks more than british; i think it is a bit racial; however, Germans do exactly the same towards Eastern European truckers, with a significant difference - they're not polite at all, they're behaving like SS.

  • you should try going thro europe with a pcv or hgv, the cops over there see a uk plate and pull vehicles for nothing, issue fines for type approved vehicles not showing stickers they dont need to, so it makes a change the brit cops are doing checks on eu vehicles.

  • When he asks for your passport @ 5:59 sounds like you loaded a gun.

  • irish drivers go through this shit everyday aswell as european drivers!!havent seen many uk trucks in these checkpoints!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Agreed all right! But when you pull 20 lorry,s in one go and they have wait "Wat planet are you on" There is very little recourse to compain or getting remit for lost time/cost.It,s a case of eyes bigger than there belly,s

  • Dendiol, how many checks you had last year?

And last check in Milton Keynes took nearly two hours, because they took first around 15 lorries out and then checked one after the one.Check was in fact 15mins,but waiting in the que was a lot of time. And that count as working time, not as a break.

And if you have that nearly once a week, you would be a bit angry too.

  • I wouldn't call them timewasters completely. If you're totally legit you'll be back on the road in minutes.

  • Would be nice if I had no speed limiter and could go 96km/h as its allowed in britian.Unfortunatly 88 is the end as on all british lorrys. And our company pays at least 20.000gbp on fuel tax in britain a year...

  • slow down like you do in your country, you come here and think you are above the law...Do 80km on the road here not a 100km, what you whining about, you dont pay tax or road rolls in our Glorious Country

  • @samtranz1 Agreed. International drivers using UK roads need to accept that they are likely to be inspected to see if they comply with our laws. That's fair enough in my eyes. If you're totally legit you'll be back on the road in no time.

  • Had today again a check at the same checkpoint.

Again they wasted over an hour of my time and again nothing found, even i'm an unwanted foreigner (original speech of a female vosa officer in Ross on Wye/Wales)

It begans to be in my eyes very racist.

  • And with two prohibitions in ten years i'm really not a law breaking cowboy!

  • Then put a foreign numberplate on your lorry and then we talk again.

Checks are ok,but its bad if you will only be targeted cause you are non british.I had more that 35 checks last year, would say thats more then any british driver had.

And i doubting that british drivers will be treated in germany the same way...

  • A lot of Negative comments. Don't do anythig wrong you have nothing to worry about

  • fuckin wanks think there an emergency service half o them have no meachanical knowledge. its amazin how you can work 7 days in any other job but not drivin fuckin monkeys

  • invasion of the luminous jackets, they look like aliens.

  • jobs for the pricks of society who are too afraid to graft for a living.

  • Everything was ok,as on the at least 35 checks that year before.

Since the introducing of the FPN Vosa becomes to be very anoing.

  • as if a german is going to have poor paper work lol
